This restaurant is walking distance to Disney Concert Hall, Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, MOCA. It is around the corner from the Biltmore Hotel, and Pershing Square. Food was amazing! We came early, maybe at peak would be more lively?

This is a great spot if you want a quiet, business lunch. It is a high-end, high quality restaurant. The food was amazing, hot, fresh and delicious. I did not pay the bill but I believe it was substantial. It's a great place to impress a potential customer or client.

Service was ok, it was quite busy. We were not dressed up and I thought perhaps that’s why our server was not very attentive to us. The sea bass was very delicious and cooked to perfection but the steak (12oz filet) was not great. Bland and on the chewy side. The Mac and cheese was not bad, nothing special. We also had the broccolini which was also ok but the sausage that was in it was quite dry. Overall from other reviews I was disappointed

Everything was great. The only thing that could be improved is the print on the menu. It is too small and the restaurant is dark. The print is difficult particularly on the regular menu items.

I invited a dear friend from Washington State here for dinner. We arrived at 5:00 in order to avoid the crowd.
We were "invisible" for a half an hour, sitting in a very noisey, 'kitchen-close' table (booth)' which we told, "ill be special for you", and then we waited and waited ..... apparently not visible to any of the staff.
Finally, someone came by so we could order cocktails.

Then, when it seemed like months later, we could order. When the orders came, both of us were in shock.

I have been coming here for years, and always brought dear friends from all across the country.

This was "the worst", and, my friend who is a gourmet chef, was appalled!

I was horrible embarrassed.

Thankfully, Water Grille comped the menu, which they certainly should have: given the horrible service, and the quality of the food.

I can't say that I will never come here again - I've been coming for years and years -
However, IF I come again, I will be determined to "Be treated with the courtesy, and dignity that I deserve. I am, Dr. Griffen.

My wife and I stopped her for dinner before the theater. Not my first time here and will not be my last. The service that night was exceptional and the food was excellent too. Really enjoyed our time here this past visit.

They know fish (obviously). All three dishes at our table were perfect, as they have been on previous visits. And the service is friendly, attenative, and appropriately paced.

We ate hear given it's proximity to the Music Center and the positive reviews for "best seafood" in LA. Hardly. Seemed pretty middle of the road to us.

My wife and were celebrating our 35 wedding anniversary, which I noted on the reservation. We were greeted with a "happy anniversary", but were not offered any complimentary desert. We split "The Grand" iced shellfish platter plus 1 sea urchin. We brought our own bottle of wine. It was nice that they did not charge a corking fee. The seafood was fresh and tasty. I was dissapointed with the size of the "jumbo" shrimp, they seemed about average size, and the half 1.25lb lobster, which was just half a tail, no claw, also seemed rather small. Pictures I've seen of the whole lobster show a larger tail and claws. The Urchin was good, sweet and creamy. The dipping sauce was terrible; smokey and totally ruined the taste of the Urchin. The waiter said this is the sauce they have served for 20 years. So, I rated the food 3-stars, about average. The price was about right for what we received. Service was excellent and the ambiance was very clean and up scale.

Marvelous seafood in an inviting and friendly, albeit noisy venue. Their website needs to be clear that there is no curbside valet but that diners need to enter the adjacent garage. Albeit a good experience but the noise level is a bit daunting.

It took a little long to get served with cocktails. Once we had our wonderful waitress, everything worked smoothly, and, omg, the food, from Oysters to dessert, was fabulous on the high side. I have been coming to The Water Grill for 20 years. Love it!

Water Grill is pleasant, though rather noisy. It is conveniently close to the music center. The food is quite good, though our fish was a bit overcooked. The sides were very good. The wine list is good with fair prices. There is a TV over the bar, which is in the middle of the dining room. I dislike being subjected to TV when having dinner.

Friend and I were looking for a place close to our hotel downtown as she couldn't walk far. Barkeep at hotel recommended.

Wonderful choice! The staff there provided some of the best service I've ever had. And the food was spectacular. Friend did pieces from the raw bar and a salad. I did the New England Clam Chowder, shrimp, fish and chips, and asparagus. Only dish that disappointed was friend's salad, which was drenched in dressing. As my friend only has two forkfuls of it, they did the right thing and took it off the bill.

I would definitely head back there again. A highlight of our trip to LA.

Quality food - especially fresh seafood, superior service, great setting for business, for special occasion, for small parties. (Location can be a challenge for parking or for easily locating it - lots of traffic and traffic interruption).

The ambiance was great, dimmed lighting on a half-level lower-than-ground setting, bar seating looks equally inviting as couched booths, parking was easy since they had valet in parking structure right by restaurant entrance on Grand Ave, reservation (Thursday 7:30pm) on OpenTable 15 mins in advance was super simple, and food was decent but a bit pricey for what we got. We (two people) ordered half-dozen oyster sampler, fritto misto appetizer, one clam chowder to share, one lobster roll with fries, and one shrimp pasta; the total comes out to $110. Our waiter was quite friendly and considerate (had kitchen split one order of chowder in two bowls for easy sharing w/o we even asking for it), but the wait between courses and getting the final check was just ridiculously long for a Thursday night, not even on weekend yet.
