It’s was great, food was delicious! We had reservations for 9:45pm. We got seated less than a few minutes after. I also brung my two children. They had a great time as well. We valet for 10 flat.
Amazing dinner. Service was slow but I’m assuming they are understaffed from covid.
Overall a good dining experience and excellent food taste and prep. Service was unfortunately slow but understandable given Covid, return to indoor dining, maybe some new staff or kitchen. But once things got rolling all was delish!
So glad it was open; one of our favorite restaurants that never disappoints. Love the atmosphere, food and service.
The food is as wonderful as ever. Fabulous lobster roll. However, the service was slow, and we never got bread. The value is not not quite what it used to be, but I understand restaurants have had to raise prices to recoup some of their pandemic losses. Water Grill remains one of my favorites, and I was delighted to be back.
Service was a bit slow due to only 3 waiters for the whole restaurant during lunch time. The place was packed 6-17-21
This is my favorite restaurant as far as seafood goes. When I am in the mood for seafood, we always go to WaterGrill.
Our favorite restaurant, from when first courting my now wife, to our 20th Anniversary.
Chris was very nice and helpful
We took my mom here for dinner and it was absolutely delicious! Staff is friendly and attentive and the food was amazing!
I was very surprised I've eaten at the Water Grill before and it was excellent. This time I ordered the Halibut which was featured. It was a nice size but not too tasteful. It was cooked right just not that good of a piece of fish. They did serve it on a bed of corn, pepper, and cojita but they left out that it had cilantro in it. I'm one of those that cilantro tastes like soap.
Exactly food and service. Good place to eat when you are in downtown LA.
it’s a good restaurant, flavor are good , but despite we had a reservation we need to wait for 20 minutes to get a table , they receive a lot of people at the same time bue apparently there are fe waiters to attend people
Very disappointed with Water Grill DTLA. Used to go every trip to LA. Last night was horrible. Long wait for a table although I had a reservation. Extremely long waits for all aspects of the meal. Food was terrible. I’ll have to scratch Watergrill off the list. Makes me sad.
Great to stop by after a long time away. Great location, great service, great food!
I enjoyed the amazing shrimp louie salad so much a week ago, I returned again just to have it. The location is a DTLA gem, and the food is beyond fresh and delicious. So much so, it's even worth dealing with DTLA traffic and parking!
We will be back!
Both Steven the manager and Michael our server did an excellent job taking care of us.
The food was outstanding and the service was expeditious! We needed to catch a train and they were helpful to get us there on time.
The Water Grill is a classic!
We look forward to our next visit.
We’ve been here numerous times. This time was a bit different. The food was t as tasty this time around.
Water Grill continues to serve the best seafood in Los Angeles and the "in restaurant dining" was greatly missed. We could not have had a better meal and experience.
What an exceptional dining spot for fresh seafood. The service was wonderful.
"I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The potato-leek soup was amazing and the Bibb lettuce salad was refreshing. The table was split on the monkfish – one person thought it was great, but another felt that the tastes didn't quite mesh. Everyone loved the flat iron steak. Service was well-timed and friendly, wines were affordable."
I had a great time took my parents to water grill in dtla and amazing food everything that we order was just perfect. The drinks were amazing I ordered the castaway and my mother ordered the grand Avenue both were great drinks. Oysters were perfect and no complaints. Service was on point
The food was outstanding I waited to get served and appetizer for a long time so didn't like the wait time. It was very noisy there and crowded. Use. The ambience was OK nothing too special but I really did have a good time here I would give it a 4 out of 5 didn't blow my mind a great food and lovely waiter. The manager also came over and wanted to know if everything is going well so I thought that was pretty special
Glad they are back. Not inexpensive but always a great dining experience
We’ve been long time patrons of Water Grill and this was our first time back after pandemic. Service and food were exceptional and better than we remembered.
Side dishes were lovely. It was packed so service was incredibly slow but the server was very friendly. Seafood was unimpressive. Best seafood dish was the raw scallop.
The quality of the food was good to average but the prices were very high. I don't mind paying high prices for amazing food but it bothers me to pay high prices for average food. I was disappointed.
Great food, service, and setting in DTLA
Amazing service, Trevor was great. Really cool ambiance and the food is always amazing.
First time back inside a restaurant and hoped it would be worth it. This place is obviously well managed, and I understand most staff returned after a pretty long shutdown. Service was attentive and informed, food tasty and wonderfully presented. Very complete bar selection and amazing wine list. I will return when in L.A.
The seafood tower was amazing and so fresh. The 20 ounce steak perfectly cooked.
I enjoyed out evening at Water Grill - Downtown. I especially enjoyed the Calamari, Oysters Rockefeller and King Crab Legs. The drinks were interesting though not terribly good. The service was adequate but not great. The table next to us seemed to have ties to the staff. There was a lot of congregating and too much noise.
I think, on a different night, we would have had a better experience.
At present, no plans to return.
Attentive service, great food (albeit a rather limited menu). The wine list tended to be a group of the "unusual suspects" rather than a truly curated list. Ambiance is nice, and convenience to downtown is perfect.
I had the king crab legs they were amazing. The oysters are great, they have a great variety East Coast and Pacific Ocean,. I sat at the bar Anthony was very informative and makes a great old-fashioned and a mojito. I haven't had anything bad to eat here everything is great. And don't forget to try the bread pudding for dessert
They didnt do anything for my friends birthday
Came in without a reservation sat at the bar for dinner Anthony took care of us.GREAT MARTINIS
Loud. Had to send the halibut back because it was over cooked and dry, and they didn’t even take it off the bill.
forget any other seafood joint :) , this is this spot to be!
