All staff provided excellent 5 star service.
I have nothing but love and respect for this Water Grill location. I’ve been to many other Water Grill locations and this one dramatically stands out from the rest.
Thank you for the great food, ambiance, and of course the unbeatable service.
Food was delicious. Service was very attentive. Even the Manager came over to say hello and ask how food was. Would definitely return
Sadly the $50 halibut was slightly overdone. Too bad.
Superlative food, service, and ambience. Arguably the best poke I’ve ever tasted. Excellent chowder. And the kitchen obviously knows their way around a superb piece of fish. My halibut, for example. Cook it quickly, cook it well, then leave it the hell alone. If i recall, there aren’t a whole lot of fancified fish dishes on the menu. But there are a whole lot of superb ones. Oh – and did I mention the cheese/onion bread that’s worth running away from home for? As close to a perfect meal as my wife and I have ever experienced.
Very good, everything came in a timely, waiters were nice and attentive. Definitely recommend if you are foodie for seafood or even want to try or venture into seafood. They have quality sampler platters. I will definitely come back.
Birthday dinner for my girlfriend while on vacation.
Service could have been better. Took the wait staff 25 min to come take our drink orders after I finally got their attention.
Overly price seafood
Waitress was great
Water Grill is an upscale seafood restaurant in downtown Los Angeles. It is comfortable with the right amount of energy. I had an early dinner there on a Friday evening. I asked for a half-circle booth and the hostess was kindly gave me one. She had a friendly smile. My server Brandan was friendly and attentive. He patiently explained their menu. The king crab legs were above average, yet still slightly salty for me. I tried three types of oysters including Kumamoto, John’s River, and Carlsbad Blondes. These oysters were below average. The New England Clam Chowder was average. The clams were with shells. It was interesting but had very few clam meats. Overall, it was a nice dinner and I certainly will visit again.
Disappointing visit to Water Grill. Place just not the same as it used to be. Food was amiss and so was the service. Will chock it up to Pandemic operating conditions
Food was okay. The sushi was so incredibly disappointing like you can definitely getting rolls at Ralph’s!
Food was just overall okay nothing mind blowing. The staff was very kind though.
The was excellent and imaginative as always. The space is quite lively during the lunch rush, making it a bit hard to hear. But everything else was great. It is a go-to option for lunch downtown.
Casual dinner with family member great experience!
Food was terrific. Service was a bit slow and the dining room was noisy. More casual than expected. People dressed sloppily. Noisy families. Ten years ago this restaurant was one of my favorites. I guess that’s the new thing in LA. Anything goes.
The food wasn’t the greatest, I had much better in cheaper restaurants. The waitress wasn’t friendly at all.
Service was very friendly and food was excellent as usual :)
We had simply a wonderful afternoon visit at Water Grill. Wonderful service, great cocktails + wine, and a delicious meal. It was everything we wanted and more.
We enjoyed the food, service was okay. Waiter wasn’t very attentive. Food took extremely long to reach table. Appetizers and main course. Even drinks from the bar!
Great service and food!
Seafood there was incredible. We had two different kinds of sea bass, and each was excellent in its own way. Then, the service was excellent - very attentive and full of knowledge about menu options.
the place is too noisy buy there is not much they can do.
Business is good, that's the reason it was very noisy, hard to talk.
There was a fly baked into the bread & there was a nat in my water. So disappointed
Softshell crab was a little salty! The Virginia oysters were better than the Massachusetts oysters get that one?
We took Summer Associates for lunch and everyone had a nice time and enjoyed the meals.
The service was exceptional the waitress recommended a brut champagne that was phenomenal very personable and delicious food ...i wish i remembered her name so that i could give her a shout out
I was surprised there weren't more fish selections.
Very good experience from all the staff and the whole dining experience. It was easy to book. Had great timing when it comes to serving courses. They were able to give us ample time to finish each course on their own and they didn’t cramp the table. I really dislike it when your appetizers become one of your sides- and that they were able to avoid. Food was good and flavorful. The complimentary bread was great. They give you warm towels after and also clean your table. We were dressed very casual. Good ambience. There is a “valet” guy in the parking structure. Paid $10 to have a parking spot: not bad at all for dtla. We will definitely visit again.
overall good but smells too much like seafood everywhere
Food was pretty good, not great. Our server was incredibly slow. It would be 15-20 minutes between seeing her at our table. We ended up being there for 2.5 hours for what should have been a 1 hour meal. Decor and vibes are nice though. If you’re looking to drop some money on a meal, this is a place to do it.
We enjoyed the ambiance and active atmosphere. Homeless situation on the streets are a very big negative for business and tourism. Something has to be done about it.
She killed everything.
Forgot to bring a drink for my wife.
Served first appetizer before my wife’s drink and bread.
Took more than 30 minutes to bring ice cream and other 30 minutes to bring a check.
Guess how long we waited to the waitress to pick up the check.
Food was great and service was great. First time eating here and it was great.
Amazing, everything was amazing!!!
Great service..waitress was very helpful and polite would recommend coming back with more people
We went on a Friday night. Food and service was good, but if you're looking for a quiet date spot, come on a slower night. It was very loud.
Amazing seafood, wine selection and great ambience. The staff is engaging, positive and eager to help. Great location, walkable in downtown.
Food was excellent, wait staff was very helpful. We also got seated in a fun leather banqette, loved it.
Service very good, but food overcooked
Anthony was a real charmer.
