Saturday: 11am - 11pm
Sunday: 11am - 10pm
Normally an excellent restaurant, with tasty food at a reasonable price, but on this occasion my wife's fish was way over salted and, although fresh, seemed to lack any other seasoning.
First time here. Very friendly staff and great food. If you are looking for seafood this is the place to go!
Only been there for business meals, don't live in the area. Open Table sent an e-mail stating we did not show up for this reservation. Please confirm with the Water Grill that we did. Thank you
We came out with some friends who were visiting from London and spent the day in LA. We had a great time seeing the sites and ended it with a fantastic meal at Water Grill! We started with the Grand Tower which was full of seafood and raw bar items that were fresh, unique and delicious. The service was on point, Cory was personable and knowledgeable and made the dining experience fun. We will be back very soon.
We took our father and his wife to The Water Grill for their anniversary. The food was wonderful. Our server, Tyler was great. Very warm and personable and really made our experience exceptional. We will be back.
Service and atmosphere were quite good but food had no flavor to it. We both ordered the salmon and agreeded no flavor at all. We’re quite disappointed.
Water Grill was a long time family favorite until it was redecorated a few years ago. Upon returning initially we found it to be noisy and many of our favorite foods no included. This time we returned for our 33rd anniversary, had reserved a booth for seating. We found it to quiet, delicious, lovely with great service.
Staff oozes arrogance! Hostess showed us a table in the back right outside the busy, noisy and bright kitchen. After refusing to be seated with the help, we were shown to a nice table in the front of the practically empty restaurant. That and the arrogance of the hostess certainly started to ruin the mood. Our waitress continued the trend. Very snooty and condescending. „How was the chowder?“ „Well, a bit to watery - more like soup.“ „Great, happy to hear that!“
The fish seem fresh, but overpriced. Won’t recommend. Will NOT RETURN.
The Watergrill in downtown Los Angeles is always great. Excellent food and service. The booths are very comfortable.
Always great but our waitress continually loudly interrupt the business conversation. I would expect more tact in an establishment on this level.
El servicio dejo mucho que desear el mesero se paraba en la mesa cada que se len llamaba el nunca fue por su propia gana , la comida excelente
Outstanding meal and service. Definitely would entertain there again. I have been there 8 times in the past two years and it continues to get better
The foood was great, I love the Water Grill. The staff was friendly. Ideal parking too
Someone very special to me my girlfriends bday;) great night of food & drinks😊
Will be back for more.💫
Regards Mark London
The food is outstanding. Server had great recommendations for items not on the menu. Sea Scallops were out of this world!
My husband and I were looking forward to a fantastic lunch just like we had last year, but it wasn’t as we remembered. The food was still very good, but not superb. The clam chowder wasn’t as rich and flavorful as the first time we had it. One of the items we ordered didn’t arrive, and we asked for bread twice and never received it. I could understand this happening if they would have been busy, but it was slow during most of our meal. Also, the cocktails are expensive for the little amount of alcohol they pour in each drink. For example, the martini glass was just a little over half full.
I will definitely dine here again, because it was one of my favorite places to eat.
Food was great. Ambience was nice. The service was ok. It just needs to be polished a little for such an establishment that I would consider “finer” dining. The service was a bit slow. After seated, it took more than what one would consider normal wait time for a waiter to approach us to take our drink order. It wasn’t a busy evening, so I didn’t understand why we sat there so long before being approached. Then eventually, we ordered and that too came with a long wait time. I’m ok with waiting for my meal to be prepared, but this was a bit excessive. When our entre came, we had no silverware, so again we had to wait for a waiter to come and provide utensils. Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable. He gave me suggestions because I can’t eat hot/spicy foods. Overall, I enjoyed the food, but the service was a little lagging and sluggish.
Water Grill is always on top of their game in the restaurant business.
fish was good but portions were wiefully small. too vad as they seemed to be trying but entree tuna was only appetizer suze.
Always expect and get great service at Water Grill, and this time was no different.
The food was disappointing, Chilean Sea bass is always delicious.
Tried something different and was too salty and not tasty.
Desert was excellent and super service by our waitress and good company made the dinner still enjoyable.
This place is always great. The crab cakes are amazing and their steaks are cooked to perfection every time. We love coming here, but I will say they need to add or switch things up with their menu. We've been coming here for a few years and I think it's the same menu. I don't recall them offering specials, but that might be something to add.
The original Water Grill remains an excellent place for eating fish downtown. Wide choice, lots of good wines by the glass, attentive well-informed service and beautifully cooked and presented dishes.
The food and cocktails were awesome and the service was amazing. We were celebrating my bday and we were a little concerned it might be pretentious being a fancier restaurant but our server, Tyler was SO warm and welcoming, and down to earth. It was an amazing night. Please pass on the praise to Tyler!!!
Watergrill is just an awesome restaurant. Great food. Awesome service, attentive servers.
Spectacular service and quality meal. Pricey, but by LA standards, probably typical. Amazing sourcing on ingredients, particularly in their raw bar. Two thumbs up.
We made an early reservation and asked for a quiet booth. Upon arrival we were greeted and taken to a booth. We were told that a large group would be coming later and was this ok with our seating. Nice to be asked. Philip our waiter went above and beyond- we asked so many questions and he had a very solid grasp of the menu, lots of fish that he was happy to compare. I made one mistake in choosing the mussels as an appetizer and then the scallops. They were both delicious but large portions and either one would have been sufficient. My friend had the whole fish and was not able th eat the extra vegetables she ordered. Philip took this off the bill even though it’s was our fault for over ordering!! I would seriously make a trip downtown to have the mussels again. I really felt that we were so well taken care of. The restaurant was getting busier and louder as we left but was very nice and quiet early on.
Best seafood tower ever! All dishes ordered were beyond expectations. Superb service.
Outstanding dinner for my daughter's birthday. All entrees and drinks were excellent! Valet parking easy and convenient as well.
I like the atmosphere and the waiters are very professional
The fish and lobster was very fresh. The fish, french fries and bread were a little salty.
Good food good service.. Drinks good i will be back
Perfect seafood restaurant! A big selection of seafood. The service is great.
Such a great restaurant for so many years - what a shame. It cannot compete anymore. It was terribly understaffed, and, hence, service was bad. Even though it was not server's fault. It took 30 minutes to get a glass of champagne, Food was very mediocre - came out only slightly warm. In fact, bread rolls were still frozen inside. Clam chowder was seriously one of the worst I have ever had, and I had to send it back because it was only mildly lukewarm. The mac and cheese side dish was barely warm. What a disappointment.
We love seafood, so this was the perfect place for it. WIsh price was a bit more affordable so that we can come more often.
I would have given them a 5star, but there are couple of things that they have over looked. First they did not acknowledge that I have reserve the table for out anniversary. Then our ceiling where we were sitting started leaking, but yet they moved us to a different table but nothing remorseful about it. Then to top it all, table was reserved, so we really did not have to wait for being a first time there, but unfortunate that we still had to wait. So overall we 3 stars.
Thank you for the great food and great service!!!!! We will definitely be back soon.
The Water Grill is one of LA downtown's treasures. The fresh fish and raw fish families of offerings are beautifully prepared. The Dover Sole is invariably done perfectly with a the skin slightly crispy always under the two side filets. The bitter chocolate souffle served with whipped cream is to always done to an exacting turn and served beautifully. The service is alway consummate by seasoned professionals to understand the elite and demanding clientele. Five stars.
Food was fabulous and our server was great. He told us his favorite dishes and he was spot on! Oysters were fresh and so delicious. Wine selection was great too!
Our waiter was fantastic. We were celebrating a birthday, and he brought a delicious desert out, on the house. The oysters and drinks are great as well. Definitely pricey, but if you can swing it, it's a killer experience.
Little slow, but overall good experience.
