Water and Wine Ratings and Reviews
We love Water and Wine. Food is outstanding. Drinks are very good. Atmosphere is excellent. James (Manager assuming) makes you feel at home. He treats everyone with such respect. Recommend this place to all.
Only gripe I had is waiter spelled butter on my jacket and did not even say or do anything about it. Annoying. It happens and would not let this stop me from going to such great place.
Please go and support this place, you will love it.
Out traditional Christmas Eve dinner never disappoints. The Ambiance, food and service are consistently excellent. The management here should be commended for being able to maintain high standards in all areas. The dinner menu is large and the daily specials are great. There's a reason we look forward to coming back!
Water & Wine has such a great ambiance that is second only to its delicious food..from entrees to desserts. Wine list is exceptional as well. Yet, most important is that I feel welcome, honored and totally taken care of by all wait staff! A most special place to dine.
Mariano was a great server and the host made sure our napkins were folded on the table. I go to W&W monthly and it always pleases. This is the first time I was in the wooden floor section, but my feet did not fail me -I did not slip, even with my heels. The bone-in filet is unreal! I suggest that and that crab cake app.
The service was amazing. Every person was very attentive to our needs. Champagne and wine was highest quality. I don’t know which was better, the meatballs or short rib raviolis. And the filet mignon special was tender and delicious. Still one of my favorite restaurants.
My fiancé and I dined this pat Sunday I ordered the gnocchi bolognese, he had the angus steak on a bone. They were both very good l, just a little too much salt for my liking. The fig special was amazing along with the bread! This will definitely be a new spot for us!
We had a wonderful time from start to finish. Everyone on staff was friendly , but professional. Raymond our server was knowledgeable. Food was beautifully presented and very delicious. Very pleasant atmosphere, lots of friendly coversation, but not too loud.
We enjoy the food and the view at W&W. Our server, Rita, made sure that our experience was seamless and it was. From the salads and appetizers to the entrees, our dining experience was relaxed and enjoyable. The steak was cooked to perfection as was the Bronzino Mediterranean style. Caesar and Endive salads were plentiful and seasoned well. Always a great meal Water and Wine.
Overall everyone was very happy with their dinners, with maybe the exception of me. We all started and enjoyed our appetizers which included the lobster cocktail, oysters, mozzarella and eggplant, and the seafood risotto. Dinners were swordfish special, the bone in steak, the halibut and I had the tagliatelle pescatore. I didn't care for the pasta dish at all...it was way over sauced and drowned in tomato flavoring. I thought it was going to be basically a white sauce with plum tomatoes in it. It was far from that. It was a heavy tomato based sauce. The shrimp were like rubber and completely inedible. I have dined here on multiple occasions and have never walked away disappointed until this dinner. We will be back and I for sure will try something different.
A number of high school classmates meet semi-annually for lunch and since I live nearby recommended W&W as a possible lunch choice several years ago. Since we started meeting there for lunch they have fallen in love with the pleasant ambiance - all they ask for is a circular table with a pleasant view of the Watchung lake. If I knew a survey would be received I would have questioned the group but will do so when we meet again near me
Entrees were very good- a bit overpriced. Dessert was a dry (we had the bread pudding). The owners did a great job creating an upscale atmosphere (valet parking, well dressed wait staff), however many diners were dressed in jeans and tshirts which was disappointing. At 8:30PM on a Friday, a couple brought a 3 year old with them, who cried through the first part of the meal (more than likely because it was past his bedtime). Of course not the restaurant's fault, but made for an unpleasant dining experience, as we were at dinner for our anniversary and tried to pick a restaurant that would be special for the occasion. Also had to correct the waiter on our bill, which separately charged us for a dessert that was a part of the pre-fixe menu.
We were there for my daughter's birthday. The service is very good. The food is also good with many different varieties, some heavily seasoned like aged beef is my daughter's ; some are light seasoned with tasty nature favor like fish;... this restaurant is located right next to Watchung lake, so the view is very soothing and romantic, both day time or night.
We love to go out to eat and try to get together for family dinners when we can. My Mom is 86 y/o now and quality time has become very important to us. We have several really wonderful places that we visit regularly, but Water & Wine has always been my personal favorite. Although we have been going there for quite a few years, I can honestly say that I have never eaten a dish that was less then perfect, and my dining companions have always felt the same. We enjoy wine with dinner and it is a wonderful place to try something different. I am not that knowledgeable about wines, but I know what I like. If you tell the server what kind of wine you like, they will bring a sample to try.
Last but not least, is the service. We have had the most wonderful servers who have gone out of their way to make sure that we are well cared for. Our special thanks go to Diego for meeting all our needs during this meal. We also have to thank James for always making us feel welcome during years of visits!
If you enjoy great food, great service in a cozy, comfortable atmosphere..this place is for you!
The restaurant needs freshening up- old carpet runners, awkward flooring transitions and unattractive entry area. We dined on a Thursday night and it was not busy. Our waiter was good but checked on us too many times , interrupting our conversation. The water server was hovering around the middle of the dining room. I like the service to be more discreet.
