Excellent Restaurant!! Went for Our Ten Year Wedding Anniversary.
The service is Fantastic, The food is Excellent.
The Service was the best I have had in a long time, They actually allow you time to eat and drink and do not rush you. We ordered a bottle of wine, appetizers and dinner. The perfect amount of time between courses and we ever once felt rushed.
Highly recommended for someone looking for a nice , quiet evening.
the atmosphere was very nice. outstanding service. the food was delicious! wonderful wines.
This has become my favorite restaurant since moving to New Jersey. Always quality food and amazing service. Perfect place for just an evening out or a special occasion
My daughter and I recently enjoyed dining at Water & Wine--again. To begin, there is valet parking--very convenient, especially in inclement weather. When you enter, there is a fireplace and comfortable seating. Even if you come in warm weather, you look at that fireplace and think about how nice it would be to return in cold weather to sit with a cocktail, glass of wine, or cup of coffee. Upon entering the dining room, the lake comes into view. It is visible from all or most tables and looks lovely in all seasons. I have always found the wait staff to be friendly and accommodating. The menu is varied, well prepared and beautifully presented. It is a refined and comfortable setting which enhances the enjoyment of the dining experience at Water & Wine.
The food was amazing, the service exceptional...and yet the overall experience was somewhat pretentious and over-priced.
As always, dining here was a pleasure. It has become our favorite restaurant. It continues to provide outstanding food and a creative menu of dishes and wine selections. The service is always consistently courteous and attentive. The fact the parking lot is always full each and every night of the week also says something and eating lunch there is also a satisfying experience.
We chose Water & Wine for our post wedding luncheon reception.
Food is outstanding quality is unsurpassed. We loved the dover sole, meatballs, crab appetizer to name a few. View of lake is beautiful. We will definitely return
Food and drinks were outstanding !!
The setting is beautiful. You walk into a small bar with a cozy sitting area near a stone fireplace. The dining room is lovely with pretty views of the water. We were seated to the rear of the room at a sweet table near the window. The burrata was mouthwatering and beyond delicious. Each bite better than the next. Our entree’s were perfection, halibut with an amazing risotto and my husband had short ribs over sweet potato mash...yum!!! Our dessert was a heavenly marscapone cheese cake. The only negative I have is when we went back to the bar to sit near the fire. I ordered an after dinner cocktail, a Cosmo, which was $17...astronomical! This is Watchung, NJ not the upper west side of Manhattan. I was appalled, it caused such a stupid fight between my husband and I because I was so furious at the audacity of charging this kind of price for a 4oz beverage. Truly ridiculous, as a result, we’ll never come back. A real shame
The appetizers were excellent. The main courses were quite large but I think quantity won out over quality. And, finally, the mascarpone cheesecake was too sweet and too heavy. I was disappointed although the service was very good and so was the wine and beer we enjoyed. We'll return for lunch rather than dinner.
This place never disappoints. Always have the best appetizer specials!
wish it was a bit more private, but other then that everything was fantastic
I did not like being seated based on the Open Table algorithm instead of where would have liked to be seated (since we did make a reservation). With a completely empty restaurant, the next couple after we were seated were put right next to us. Then, a table of seven people (including young and loud children) were crammed into a small table next to us on the opposite side. We felt uncomfortable with the wait staff and other customers so close to us. I probably will NEVER use Open Table for a reservation ever again, and I will NEVER go to Water & Wine. We were rushed by our waitress, we had to ask for utensils, and the ambiance was more like a sports pub than what we expected.
Great menu for Valentines day. Had a great time with the girlfriend. Service was on point.
The restaurant needs to update its cooking of vegetables. Plain, boiled spinach!! At the least it should be sautéed. Chocolate dessert was good, but need to reduce its size, too big!! Cheesecake was good and right size. My baked chicken dish was good.
Food was good, but not great. Portions are generous. We were seated at a strange unusually long table which was not conducive to a cozy Valentine's day date. When we asked to be moved, we were told nothing could be done about it.
The service was prompt, but perhaps too prompt. They were clearly trying to rush tables through so they could get more "turns" during the big Val Day holiday evening. I was offended that the server pushed back on our request to delay bringing out the desserts a little while so we could digest our entrees. Ultimately they relented and gave us time, but it was not handled well.
Top notch service. Our window table request was honored. Excellent desserts - meant to share. A bit pricey but definitely worth it.
First, there is only valet parking - it was fine, with friendly, conscientious attendants. Upon entering the hostess handled coats and seating, which took some time. Understandable, but you are waiting in an entry area that includes a bar. While waiting for our coats to be hung, we are in the middle of traffic and guests at the bar - very uncomfortable (and those poor waiters dodging people!). Once seated, we had a lovely dinner with very attentive waitstaff. The menu is very creative, and expensive (roughly $200/couple) for cocktail, wine, entree and shared apps & dessert. Entree special was halibut which was perfectly cooked but lacked seasoning. Appetizers (octopus and an asparagus/prosciutto dish) were very good. Desserts very good also. So, nice place to go, but certainly not every day and they need to check seasonings. You are well taken care of here.
Absolutely outstanding. Celebrated a birthday. Adam was our server. Recommended a wonderful wine. Everything was great! Can’t wait to go back
We are regulars, as in once a week. The wine list is wonderful, but Italian and California - centric. Never fail to find something very good or bette to drink. Food always top notch. Steaks and chops, fish and pasta for every taste and mood. Just went back fir more of the black linguini with bottarga- truly great dish.
I can't even count the number of times we have enjoyed this restaurant! We have visited many times over the years, and it is always a perfect experience. I have celebrated my birthday here many times and tonight was such an occasion. It may be hard to believe, but I can't remember a time when I had less than perfect food and service.
There are many fine places to eat in this area, but Water & Wine remains one of my absolute favorites! Rita took care of us, as she has many times in the past. She even remembers our preferences. James always takes time to great us and all the support staff are delightful!
Can't wait to return!
How do I love Water & Wine??? Let me count the ways...the ambiance, the view, the delicious food ( I love the salmon), the wine, the dessert, and the extraordinary staff...James welcomes us; and Adam and Rita take care of our table needs!
Lovely spot, good food with ample serving size. Quiet enough for good table conversation, with enough room between tables that you don't feel crowded.
Great food, service, views. Perfect for special occasions. Upscale restaurant, however reasonably priced and in a comfortable setting.
Excellent service and a beautiful view. We had Scott as our server who was attentive and knowledgeable. Definitely recommend the short rib papardelle!
Everything we had was really good. And good sized portions. Had enough for leftovers : )
Service and food was great! The entire group enjoyed the location and we were able to hear each other talk.
Love water and wine!!! Best restaurant!!!
As always the food was excellent. Our server was not very attentive, didn't come back to ask us if we wanted additional drinks or needed anything. We had to wait for food to be delivered to request drinks. I love Water & Wine, but have always said the decor needs updating. It's a lovely restaurant, but it can be so much more.
The staff was very friendly and attentive, but not at all pushy. The food was delicious!
Food was excellent. Restaurant has old world charm and nice views of the lake. Service was friendly and accommodating.
Had not been there for a year and it just gets better every time I go can’t wait to go back
Perfect on all fronts
Great service and good food. Dependable quality and a nice venue to boot.
We were there for New Year’s Eve and had a wonderful meal with great service, 2 things usually not experienced on NYE. We were all very happy with Water and Wine!
We love Water and Wine. Food is outstanding. Drinks are very good. Atmosphere is excellent. James (Manager assuming) makes you feel at home. He treats everyone with such respect. Recommend this place to all.
Only gripe I had is waiter spelled butter on my jacket and did not even say or do anything about it. Annoying. It happens and would not let this stop me from going to such great place.
Please go and support this place, you will love it.
Always attentive service & delicious food! There is something for everyone - great choices with beautiful presentation!
Out traditional Christmas Eve dinner never disappoints. The Ambiance, food and service are consistently excellent. The management here should be commended for being able to maintain high standards in all areas. The dinner menu is large and the daily specials are great. There's a reason we look forward to coming back!
Great food. Excellent pasta and meat options. Nice fireplace in bar area.
