Washington Platform Saloon & Restaurant
Wedding Anniversary dinner. Relaxing atmosphere with great food, prompt service and good music
We were seated right away. Our server was courteous and helped answer questions about a couple of dishes. She was very attentive. The food was great as usual.
We love the Washington Platform. We had 8 in our dinner party, everyone's food came out hot and right. The food is always delicious. The jazz band had just started so we didn't get to hear much of them, unfortunately, because they were good. Our waitress was attentive, and very personable.
Food had no seasoning. Service took much too long.
We have trouble hearing and did not know that a Dixieland band would be playing in our room. Much too
loud for us at dinner time--though the music was good. No conversation made the experience bad for us.
Our server was late to work so we sat ourselves initially. No problems. Manager came over and apologized. So did the server.lol. she did a fine job. Food was excellent. The snapper fish sandwich was among the best I have ever had. Paired with a Thai cabbage slaw, it was HUGE! Took half of it home with me for dinner. Also got a quick tour of the underground malting room dating back to the original business, Armleder saloon.
Seated at a table where the band was setting up and they were extremely obnoxious while setting up
Hard to carry on a conversation with our guest
Foul language and all
Always good food. It was very loud - thankfully we were at other end of room - however it was an enjoyable time. We’ll be back again as I can’t get enough of their fried oysters or oyster stew. Yum 😋
This place is fantastic! Always enjoy the food and libations here.
The bloody mary was fantastic! Oysters on the half shell were also incredible. Both soups we tried were outstanding. The rest of the food was okay. I would come here for drinks and apps and ambience. Very much as I remember it from 30 years ago. A Cincinnati landmark!
What was great? Everything!
We went for a family dinner and six of us were seated at a small round table. Not much room for 6 people with food and drinks on table. Ordered oysters and the first one that was eaten was bad. We sent all back. Did not want to get sick. I felt very sorry for the waitress. It was not her fault. She did make things right with the bill and order. It was busy and service was slow. Might try again when not so busy.
Great place with delicious food and the jazz was an added bonus... great service from Amber and the ambiance was relaxed. We’ll be back for sure
Excellent oysters on the half shell - if you love oysters Washington Platform is worth the trip. Lots of good choices on the menu. We chose the creole combo and the salmon picada and both were very good, but the pace of service was slow. If you have theater tickets definitely let them know ahead of time. The second beer ordered when our entre came was never delivered, and I just cancelled it before asking for the check.
Great selection of seafood in a relaxed casual atmosphere.
Party of eight before the symphony. Hadn’t been here in years and so pleasantly surprised with quality of food and service
Excellent food. Great service. And very cool atmosphere.
This is a bar that serves way over priced seafood. The service was basically non existent. We waited, with a reservation, for about ten minutes before anyone even acknowledged us. We wanted to try a new restaurant and booked for a special occasion. Had it not been for that, we would have left. Three of the eight in our party enjoyed their food. Scallops ($27) were inedible. Server never asked why most of the food wasn't eaten. Chef is extremely heavy handed with the cardamon, so everything basically just tasted like mold. We were going to have dessert (celebration, after all!) but after waiting more than 15 minutes for the server to come to the table, we decided to leave and go to the Cheesecake Factory. To top off the lousy meal and service, we were treated to the bartender's loud conversation with a patron that included such colorful and inventive language as a half dozen f-bombs. Awesome for a family outing.
Comfortable and filling. Our server was very capable, friendly, and efficient. I wish the menu had more non seafood options, but we will certainly return. It’s within walking distance to Cincy Shakes and Music Hall.
Good was lousy
While the dinner food was good, dessert was inedible-not really sure what the chef thought when trying to pass off wet, runny custard as bread pudding but that was a disaster. The waitress was apathetic and more interested in waiting on a bunch of people who were drinking and were there for the musical portion of the evening. Lights got turned down shortly after we were seated, so we basically ate in the dark. The heating system is vents in the floor which blew cold air on us throughout dinner until we covered the vent with a menu. If you don't mind eating in the dark with cold air blowing up your legs with poor service, then this is the place for you!
Food was delicious with good portions and the server was friendly. Love the ambience in the dining room with the live music. Thanks for hosting live jazz on a regular basis. It draws us there.
Wonderful atmosphere, in a small neighborhood bar/restaurant on the edge of downtown Cincinnati. Live jazz (Pam Mallory!) was wonderful, and the service was very good. Sea scallops were fantastic!
Very very good.
Washington Platform was excellent this time as it always is. It is my favorite resteraunt in the whole city.
Great find. Great seafood in middle of Cinci at a good value. Jazz music in evenings. Will be back
We arrived on a Saturday at 7:30 to eat and listen to the great live jazz Music. We all had the roasted corn chowder with crabmeat which was a huge serving and to die for. We all loved it. Two of us had the shrimp and andouille Po' Boy sandwich with BBQ fries. Again a large portion and delicious. One in the party had crab cakes and they were perfect. The other person had the oyster dinner and they were prepared to perfection. The band was great and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The only drawback was the glasses of wine we consumed could have been a little more full than what they were....that's the only complaint. We have been there a few times and will be back again and soon!
table was ready no wait,5 of us and everyone enjoyed there food ,raw oysters were good ,and the fried oyster dinner was very good lightly breaded and juicy oysters not over cooked
New year’s eve dinner.
Great food. Great value!
It was fun to be there. I understand it can be hopping at times, but we had a quiet dinner. I will certainly return. The oysters were 👍
A number of things went poorly during our dining experience. First, it was really cold inside and I had to keep my coat on the whole time. The food itself was not very good. The salads were wilty and slimy. The gumbo came out with a napkin already covered in gumbo. Our entrees were flavorless, salty, and kind of slimy.
Best steak in cincinnati and I have tried most. Thanks
Delicious sea food buffet with roasted lamb, turkey and ham. Casual, jazz club atmosphere.
The feast of the 7 fish is one of our favorite buffets. Amazing food and friendly staff
We dined during the Christmas Eve brunch and it never disappoints! They go out of their way to make us a batch of gluten free wings!
Disappointed that there is no longer a brunch menu. Service was awesome. Food a little pricey for the quality.
Met with friends for a Christmas get together. The food was great and the atmosphere was so festive!
Would definitely go again!
A nice menu selection, some with a New Orleans twist. We appreciated the variety of seafood and chicken offered. Pasta Giovanni was great!
