Washington Platform never fails to live up to it’s reputation as a wonderful, welcoming, delicious restaurant! I have an array of favorites…something I can’t say about other places.
Best oysters in Cincinnati and a great price for a delicious meal.
Great dinner during their lobster fest. Food and service was excellent, sat in bar area with live jazz in the background.
We went to hear a jazz trio performing while we finished dinner. Food was very good & the menu was excellent with emphasis on seafood & pasta, but also typical bar food. The noise was a bit too much, but we sat near enough to hear the music over the loud crowd. Even though we sat next to each other, conversation was difficult before the trio started. After that, much conversation would have been inappropriate. Years ago I ate lunch here a couple of times a week. It is a better restaurant now than then, but it is still basically a great saloon.
Simply professional and fiendly
As always the oysters were amazing!
The food tasted delicious. The only thing I would recommend to the chef is to add garnishment to the plate with a side. I received my snapper filet with a wedge of lemon. That was all that was on the plate. It covered maybe a third of the plate and the rest was bare. Was not a quality presentation for an entree at all. There are sides available but I feel that one should automatically come with the fish. ( Salad or soup came before main entree) ( Ie rice, etc...)
I couldn’t wait to try the Oysters because of all the positive reviews they received and they didn’t disappoint! I can’t wait to go back.
We went for lobstapaloza, food was excellent, our waitress was fun, engaging and attentive. We will certainly be back.
We had the Lobsterella (lobster meat stuffed in a portable bella mushroom) and the Lobster roll ( Lobster meat on a bun). Both were very good. The meat was plentiful in both food items. I love the location as it is in the original location from the 1860's. We were there at Happy Hour and our beers were $3. Good location as the Queen City Exchange and Northside Distillery are a block away.
Fresh seafood reasonably priced
A Cincinnati classic, just south of OTR. Lobster Mac and Lobster Rolls were fantastic, and nicely pair with a Narragansett Lager.
We have been wanting to get there for a while. Finally made it and it did not disappoint. Would definitely recommend.
Everything is Always fantastic at the Washington Platform!
Always an amazing meal. Often has live jazz on weekends.
Food & service were amazing as usual !! Can't wait to go back & we all really enjoy the events they have!
Decided to give this place another shot for dining. It had been a very long time and not a good experience previously. But because they have really good jazz entertainment that night we decided to book a reservation. Music was good. But everything else sadly was very disappointing. Women’s restroom was disgusting. Waited forever to place a drink order and finally a hostess or somebody from the other room came by and notice we were still without drinks and took our drink order. Waited forever to place an order with our server.. It was during lobster palooza festival. So you would think the lobster would be outstanding. Got the lobster Newburg. Ate the lobster off the plate that was swimming in sauce. Left the soggy “Wonder bread” toast points and the nearly raw broccoli that filled the rest of the plate. I gave the food two stars because the salad was decent. After plates were cleared table was a mess from condensation from drinks and no cocktail napkins and slop on the table. Server never offered to wipe table so we could relax with hands on table and drinks and enjoy the music which we were there for. Could not wait to pay bill and leave even though entertainment was good. Sadly this reinforced our previous experiences and we won’t be back.
FANTASTIC meal. Lobstapalooza is just great! The meal was really good and the service was STELLAR. Will definitely be back (maybe for more lobster) and definitely for other specials. The regular menu looks really good, too.
Killer hush puppies ♥️
Might be my regular hang out if I lived closer.
This was a last-minute lunch out for my daughter and me. The restaurant was having "Lobsterpalooza" and it was amazing! Everything sounded and was so good. We ordered too much food resulting in take home boxes for another great meal. This was our first, but not our last trip here.
A great place for our anniversary celebration during Lobstapalooza - will be back soon!
Daddy/Daughter Date Night! Service was on point. Food was on point. Jazz Trio was lively and entertaining. No reason not to go back!
Our waitress was attentive and pleasant. Food was good, but, I was surprised an entree only came with soup or salad and hush puppies. No other side choice. The music is nice but loud.
Oysters were delicious. Good service and good food. Highly recommend.
Our first time eating here. It is an old style restaurant with a lot of fried food. The fried oysters and crab cakes were marginal with too much breading. The service was friendly and good. The jazz band was good and a nice addition.
Oysters were fresh and delicious, as were everything we ordered! The hush puppies with voodoo sauce are amazing. Servers were on point, and took great care of us. Will definitely be back!
Before reds game... love the oysters... a wonderful gem in Cincinnati...
Went for my birthday with five people. Went for the wild game menu which was all over the internet, only to find out that they eliminated that menu. Please take down all the references to it! The food was good, not great. I had the "salmon picada", and while the flavors were good, the star of the dish, the salmon, was pretty undercooked. I could only eat the ends. The service was very nice although we could not hear our server, or each other, due to the ridiculously loud modern jazz band they have playing. Even though it was in the next room we pretty much ate without conversation because we could not hear each other. Not great for a group that has not been out much in a year and really wanted to have conversation. Clearly they are not concerned about covid restrictions as we were seated immediately next to other tables - within a couple feet of strangers. That didn't bother us much since 4 out of 5 of us were already vaccinated, we just put the unvaccinated one farthest away from the strangers.
Sorry about all of the problems. We do have live jazz every Thurs., Fri., and Saturday; we generally try to keep it as background so that conversation can continue. It is very popular with most customers. Not sure where you were viewing menus, but our website has nothing about wild game?
Hadn't been here in a couple of years and it did not disappoint me as we celebrated my birthday. The cajun spiced seafod and and seafood gumbo were great and the oysters hit the spot!
Mother’s Day brunch. Live music and a fun atmosphere.
Was in the room with the band, which was very loud but did not impact our experience too much since they did a great job. Service was a bit slow to start but improved throughout our time there. Oyster shooters were god awful, for the price you really should look into how you serve these, they look as unappetizing as they tasted. Oyster Regency and Scallops were tasty.
Everyone was nice and the food hot and delicious I had a great time and recommend to friends 😊
Early celebration for Mother’s Day.
Everything was excellent! We love it here & will be back
Always a great time and meal
Washington Platform has quickly become one of my favorites! I've tried several different dishes and they have all been amazing!! Staff is always super friendly and the food never disappoints.
It was a great service experience! Our server was top notch ! I enjoyed appetizers and soups , I was not a fan of the oysters on half shell but feel like if I made another choice it would have been fine . Overall it was a good place .
This was our first time at the Washington Platform restaurant. We enjoyed the food and the live entertainment and we will be back.
Food was fantastic. I had the grilled Snapper and it was perfectly cooked. very good . Wife has the oysters, Went there for the oyster fest. She likes them. One of our favorite places
Always love this restaurant.
This is our go-to place to eat before symphony concerts. The food is good and the prices are reasonable. Service is friendly and prompt. It's a very appealing combination.
