Washington Inn Ratings and Reviews
Amazing as always. Plenty of team members to ensure service was prompt without feeling rushed. Our server, Rachel, was friendly and professional. She was well versed in the menu and made us feel as if we were her only table. The avocado and shrimp appetizer was outstanding. The chioppino, which I've ordered in prior visits, was wonderful. The seafood was cooked to perfection and the broth was seasoned perfectly. Never disappoints. We'll be back!
Best recent dining experience in Cape May.
Service was stellar- our server Ivana and restaurant manager Candace offered menu suggestions and a perfect wine pairing for our meal. Extensive, impressive wine list, impeccable cuisine, lovely service.
Perfect night out for a special occasion.
We had another wonderful dining experience at the Washington Inn. From the guy who filled our water glasses to the waitress to the parking valet, everything was perfect. There were four of us and everyone ordered something different. I had the crab cakes and they were excellent. My wife always orders salmon and Saturday night was no exception. The salmon was from Scotland and the piece was huge. It was finished with sweet capers and she loved it. One of our friends ordered grass fed flat iron steak which she loved and the other went with the cioppino which was another winner. We ended with sharing 2 cheesecakes which were fabulous. All in all, a fabulous dining experience at a realistic price. We highly recommend the Washington Inn.
Year after year The Washington Inn is our place to celebrate the shared birthday of two very special people. This year was no exception and as usual, our experience was wonderful. With amazing food, pretty atmosphere and impeccable service, The Washington Inn will continue to be our favorite restaurant for special occasions.
Highly recommend The Washington Inn , excellent wine list , white glove service , 5 star food . i have dined their many times and they are consistently excellent every time . New England Clam Chowder , Chipollie Shrimp , Scottish Salmon and Flat Iron Steak were the highlights this time but i have had the duck many times and you can't beat it .
Make sure you get a seat by the window for special occasions. Don’t let them up sell you on the specials. My wife got the lobster for her b-day, but it was disappointing in that it wasn’t done well. The cioppino was good, along with the octopus I got as an appetizer.
Bar get full really quick. Very loud and all the guests try to talk over one another. No acoustic panels on ceiling which would help. A very rude woman (regular) the night I was there with my date at the bar. Manager came over to our table after seated and apologized.
We had a reservation on a very busy evening in cape May. Because of reasons beyond the restaurants control, we waited for 30 mins to be seated. They were very apologetic and brought us a complimentary appetizer. Classy way of doing business, and a great place!
Went after holiday house tour. The place was very crowded and had to wait 30 minutes past our scheduled invitation. When seated our waiter was attentive and good. The food was excellent. There were 3 of us and all ordered different things and enjoyed them. For dessert ordered the fruit tart which as apple. Only disappointment terribly too sweet. The waiter was nice enough to take back and let us make another choice. The holiday decor could have been more festive. Overall we enjoyed the night
My mom and I went to Washington Inn this Saturday after a fun day in Cape May. I had heard rave reviews about Washington Inn and was excited to eat dinner at such a prestigious restaurant. When we entered at 7:45 (reservation for 8pm) the hostess rudely asked us to wait in the bar area and come back closer to our reservation time. I had no idea I would be walking into a frat party scene at the bar. People were so drunk, loud, rude. Getting a drink was near to impossible. They had a party of 12+ people who were so obnoxious they kept bumping into us, spilling drinks on us, flailing around like they were at a local pub, not an expensive restaurant. It was so obnoxious that 15 minutes seemed like eternity. I finally went to the hostess and told her that if she didn't sit us now (It was 8:04) we were leaving. I made sure to also mention the scene at the bar to our waitress who was very sweet and apologetic. Our meal was quite expensive, and not so great. Combine that with the horrific ambiance, I would never go back.
Washington Inn - I know other patrons are uncontrollable, however when you see people displaying this type of behavior in your highly regarded restaurant and MANY people are complaining about them, you should step in and do something. Completely unfair for the other diners.
The Washington Inn delivered on its reputation. The service was top notch. Never felt rushed. They are not in the business of turning tables. The food was absolutely superb. From the appetizers, main course and dessert, I challenge anyone to find better quality food. Wine list was extensive but pricey. Cocktails were excellent. Must visit if you are remotely in the area.
We were looking forward to our date night at the lovely Washington Inn
We were greeted by lovely young children lining the outside steps.
We thought there was a special 🎊 party
After we were seated in the dining area-all renovated now-gave us a very cold feeling -we enjoyed more children running all over
Very noisy- we just sat quietly observing this change of environment- the gentleman at the next table dined with jeans flannel shirt and a baseball cap
We both love children
And I guess Washington Inn has made a choice to be family friendly
And that’s okay
However we will not be comfortable enjoying our date night there or bringing our guest there
We loved the other Washington Inn
Sorry you had to move so far on
The restaurant was so much better then I expected.. then we all expected.. the service was great and the food.. well.. how many restaurants does one go to when all there have only the best thing to say about he food and ambiance.. looking forward to going back again.. will recommend to others since we don’t live in Cape May, but plan on coming back more often.
The food was excellent and our server Rachel was outstanding. We went there for my 49th birthday and my children, my wife and I loved it. I am a chef in Manhattan and we did a Quick weekend get away for the holiday and it was well worth it.
We’ve been coming to The Washington Inn for years. The food is always very good. The staff is always friendly and gracious. The service is always prompt, polite and accommodating. Great for families and couples. There’s really every reason to recommend it if you’re looking for a low key, graciously served, well prepared meal.
Amazing! From the valet warm welcome and opening the door for us into the restaurant and all along the way we were greeted! Highly attentive staff that anticipated our every need. My husband and I had Thanksgiving lunch there! Delicious!!!! Excellent presentation! A+++
Went there 3 weeks ago and the food was great. Went there Saturday night and both mine and my wives dinner was not good. She got the duck that was very under cooked and fatty. I got the special Fluke and it tasted horrible. The fluke was mediocre at best, the vegetables were very bland and tough. I couldn't even bite into the mushroom slices.
