Father’s Day Dinner
Went for our anniversary and dinner was great, especially our waitress Gabriella. She was very attentive and made our evening very special.
We’ve dined Cape May Washington Inn but this time were disappointed.
Our server came in a timely fashion, but instead of asking our beverage
preference, told us the specials & wanted us to order.
We asked for a glass of wine first.
Ordered the salad special which was mediocre & looked thrown on
Our entrees were the saving grace of our meal.
Probably won’t go back this season. Too many other choices.
Food, service, atmosphere... Always incredible!!!!!!
Washington Inn is a must visit in Cape May. Know by many as the standard for a quality dinner at the Jersey Shore. Enjoy!
Impeccable. The food, ambiance, and Shaun our server were all fabulous.
One of the best meals I’ve enjoyed
Staff was friendly and attentive
Crab cakes were sensational
The bartender made the best plum martinis
A must meal while visiting Cape May
We went for my Birthday dinner, as we did the previous year. We were seated in a cozy area with silver wallpaper. Very nice. Our meal was delicious. I had the steak and my husband had the salmon. Very fresh and delicious! They brought a complimentary little dessert for me with a candle. Nice ambience and great food. They also have valet parking, which is nice!
We were celebrating our 48th wedding anniversary.
Terrific spot. Food was overall excellent in all parameters from creativity, to preparation to presentation and an especially great value for restaurant week. Th wine list is deep and well priced and the ambiance is lovely. After an initial glitch with service, the manager responded as exactly one would hope and service was wonderful from then on. Highly recommend.
Resturant week event.
We visited during Restaurant Week and couldn’t be happier with our dining experience! A beautiful venue to enjoy an intimate dinner. Food and service were outstanding. I had the short ribs , my husband had the roast chicken and both were amazing. Although it was Restaurant Week the potions were not reduced and we were not rushed through our dinner. We will be back.
Our visit to the Washington Inn was exceptional. The atmosphere was quiet and comfortable. Our food was delicious with beautiful presentation. The wine list was splendid and my chosen wine did not disappoint. Our server was pleasant and attentive. We had a wonderful evening and highly recommend this restaurant.
Another perfect dinner!!!! Love Ann, my favorite. Charles and Robin make my favorite cocktails. And pour my favorite wine the best. Xo
Dinner was wonderful as always. We were celebrating our anniversary this time and they brought us champagne on the house. The wine we picked was wonderful the lamb appetizer is always our favorite and we both enjoyed the Meyer steak and finished with smooth yummy Oreo cheesecake . We will be back on our next trip to Cape May as usual.
We had a lovely evening during Restaurant Week at Washington Inn. We had a delicious 3 course meal for $35. Our server Miles was excellent. With the Restaurant Week menu you had three choices for each of the courses. I had the corn chowder which was very tasty. My main course was salmon with pea pesto and quinoa. It was a large portion enough for two meals. Then a chocolate cake with cherry sauce which was very good. The whole meal was presented beautifully, served professionally and tasted wonderfully. I highly recommend the Washington Inn for a fine dining experience.
Always a winner
We were very impressed every thing was great. We had gone there in the past no please but this time very happy . There was a lot of staff . Waiter very good. Food awesome. We will be back!!
Everything was great. The food was delicious. We had cioppino. We have ordered that many times. I was missing a few mussels, rather than clams. Maybe one or two. Shrimps and scallops delicious. The broth is amazing. Us being Italian, we really enjoyed this dish. We came recently two other times and the early bird meals picked out for us, were delicious. Cioppino seems to be a great pic. The salads and desserts are beautiful and delicious. Highly recommend the Washington Inn.
Dinner with great friends!
Excellent food and service
The service was impeccable. It is always a pleasure to eat at the Washington Inn.
The hostess and my servers were wonderful. My meal was good and with some adjustments, I think, it would have been fabulous! I had the ribs with horseradish over grits with asparagus. The sauce was very tasty but overwhelmed the meat and the grits. The horseradish was a great compliment to the sauce. The meat was tender but began to lose its composition for my taste. Perhaps my asparagus were supposed to be wilted, but I would have preferred them blanched so they could add to the flavors presented.
I would definitely go back again-- nice experience.
We were here during Restaurant Week so the value was phenomenal. The food, presentation and service was the best of the best!
Went during Cape May restaurant week. Food was amazing, service was great, and the value was amazing!
Everything was great except the noise level
Our first time here was a stunner! Went for Cape May Restaurant Week and our anniversary, and the food and service was top notch. Our waitress Chris went above and beyond to make our experience great, patient and knowledgeable as we explored the lovely appetizer, entree and dessert options. She even brought a beautifully decorated strawberry shortcake dessert with a lit candle and the words Happy Anniversary outlined in chocolate along the rim of the plate! Beautiful ending to a perfectly delightful dining experience.
We went to Washington Inn during Cape May Restaurant Week. We will definitely return to order from the full menu as the food was delicious and service was excellent.
We had a wonderful dinner at Washington Inn. Beautiful place and very nice staff . Our server was very nice. And we had a very nice evening. After our dinner was over and we were happily going over our experience we got a call from the Inn. What we didn’t know was that our daughter had called and wanted the Restaurant to make our dinner extra special by picking up the tab. We were celebrating our Retirement and 60th Birthday. The Restaurant only realized after we left that they didn’t do anything a little extra and we paid our own bill. They called my daughter and called us very upset to have dropped the ball and called us again a few days later still apologizing. They couldn’t have been nicer. Sending us a gift card and taking the charges off our bill. All unnecessary! We had a great night and it is the thought that counts. We will be back to this lovely place again and again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at the Washington Inn. The food was great. For example, we ate at another Cape May landmark a few nights before and were disappointed with the food. The Inn did not disappoint. We both thoroughly enjoyed our food. I decided to try the short ribs, because I was disappointed in the other restaurant’s short ribs and thought maybe I just don’t like short ribs. The Washington Inn again made me a fan of short ribs. They were incredibly tender and very tasty.
The service was great! Our waitress was amazing. Attentive, but not annoying. She regularly checked on us after we had finished our main meal, and only brought the dessert when we had time for the meal to settle.
Great place, where we look forward to going again.
Superior restaurant here in Cape May, Excellent food and staff is awesome
We went for restaurant week and it was phenomenal! From drinks to dessert we had great service and fantastic food! We look forward to going the next time we are in Cape May!
One of the best meals we have ever had in Cape May and it was during restaurant week.
We dined two evenings during Restaurant Week and both meals were spectacular in both presentations and tastes. We definitely recommend Washington Inn!
Beautiful restaurant. Would definitely recommend to friends. Gabriella was our waitress she was wonderful, friendly and knowledgeable We will come back again.
Took friends to celebrate a retirement. Restaurant Week was a bonus, the selections were great and quality of food was outstanding. A wonderful evening with friends at one of Cape May’s best restaurants!
Great night, sat at the bar, bartenders were fantastic, Jimmy and TJ are the best
Masterful performance! Truly outstanding dining experience. Bravo! From the wonderfully attentive and engaging server, Myles to the incredible dessert fromage blanc, this place mailed it!!! Look forward to returning next year when we come back to Cape May!
This was during Restaurant Week, so it was an excellent value. Funny thin is, this place seems to be better during Restaurant Week than at other times. Often it is the other way around. In mid-summer and in the off season, service and food prep has been off when you would think in a less pressured environment, it would be better than during Restaurant Week. We both had the seared tuna, nicely done but with too much ponzu sauce, too vinegary, detracted from the tuna; and cioppino, which is usually excellent but was chintzy on the sauce. Strawberry shortcake and creme brulee were also excellent. service was very good to excellent (they forgot to bring out the bread after they brought out the appetizers). The had three wines at $25/bttl, and the white was nice, so that was a pleasant surprise. We also learned, after the fact, that Sunday is BYO day, which is great to know, and more likely to bring us back more often on Sundays.
