Absolutely amazing experience!! Darren was awesome!
The staff is second to none! The food is delicious.
Excellent as always!
Overall enjoyed the evening. Wonderful waitress, Jennifer, who was friendly, efficient and courteous . Lovely ambience, but the value leaves a lot to be desired. When I spend $54 for a filet, I sure as hell don’t expect to have to pay for bread. I mean who does that? No other restaurant in Cape May that I know of. Better rethink this!
The food and service is always excellent! It is especially great for birthdays and anniversaries.
Spectacular food and service.
We had out 5th anniversary dinner at Washington Inn. This was our first time there. We were seated quickly to a nice table. We were quickly asked if we wanted tap water or bottle water. So far so good. We waited ten minutes before our server apologized and let's us know she would be right with us. When she returned (apologizing asain) she asked if we were ready to order since we had some time to spend with the menu. I asked how about cocktails first please. She mentioned the two specials 'because she had to'. We decided to give our appetizer order before she left. The app came before drinks and before any plates. We had to ask for plates. Our server appeared again and said the bar was backed up so drinks would be a while. So far dinner was not on any kind of pace I had hoped for. The app was very good. Drinks finally arrived and the server appeared again saying we better order before the kitchen gets backed up. So we did order. The strip steak special and a rack of lamb. Both were ordered medium. Both arrived well done. We decide to cut our losses and skip dessert.
We go here for special occasions and has never let us down. The food is outstanding only exceeded by the wait staff!
Wonderful food. Impeccable, attentive service. Excellent cocktails. Couldn't have been better.
I took my mom here for her 70th birthday and it was spectacular! The food, the people, the ambiance…absolutely perfect!
I can’t say enough about it. Overall experience is one of a kind!
We had a precious weekend away in Cape May and dinner at The Washington Inn park was one of the highlights. It is still a beautiful and classy restaurant with great food, ambiance and service. We chose outdoor seating due to an abundance of caution and it was a lovely experience. Large bamboo stalks lent privacy from the street and the twinkling lights added to the romantic atmosphere. Service was just impeccable!
The Washington Inn goes far beyond anybody can expect in customer service. Thank you for what you did for us Chris.
Great food and drinks. Try it out you will not be disappointed
We were served earlier than our reservation. Our waitress was friendly, efficient, and professional! Everything from our cocktails to dessert was the very best! The atmosphere was very nice. A+++!!!
Amazing dinner and drinks. Robin, our bartender, suggested the perfect martini. Kit, our server, also shared recommendations with us. She was very knowledgeable about the menu. Perfect evening. Will definitely be back.
The bok choy was full of sand and the swordfish was undercooked
Food was fantastic, server was kind and courteous. Requested outside, it was raining so that option wasn’t available. First time eating inside since Covid started, they were able to seat us in an area without too many diners. Thankful they were able accommodate us. Highly recommend
Everything about this place was amazing! Device was spot on and the food did not disappoint. Will be back in the future.
Dinner was delicious. For our entrees, we had the short rib special, tomahawk pork chop, boneless by strip and the sword fish. For appetizers we had the Buttata
Cheese, grilled octopus (which was absolutely amazing) and the beet and cheese salad. To top it off, we had the bananas foster. Not cheap but good portions and hands down a terrific meal. Here are pics of our entrees.
20th Wedding Anniversary
Our fave in Cape May. Food and service were top notch as always. Because of Covid we chose to dine outside which was not so top notch. Gnats were diving into my Manhattan. My wife was bitten numerous times on her feet by something. Eventually I was too as were surrounding tables. The Inn had citronella candles out and offered bug spray but the insects were not deterred. Perhaps the Inn did all they could, but the night before we dined outside at another restaurant and did not experience this problem. However, the food at that restaurant was no where as good.
Amazing food and service! We will be back!
While the food and service were very good, the ambience and noise level were a disappointment. Between the music playing in the background (which can't be heard very well), the noise level of guests talking and the waiter wearing a mask, it was very hard to hear anything that the waiter said. We chose Washington Inn based on the rave reviews that I read, but I do not think the reviews were justified in a town with many other choices.
Great food, fun time.
We had high expectations based on all the great reviews but were unfortunately disappointed. I had the crab cakes which were not very good, my husband had the branzino which he liked. The hand pulled burrata appetizer was terrible. We had to pay for a basket of bread, which I’m glad we did because it was far better than appetizer. But I’ve never been to a restaurant that makes you pay for bread. Also it was our anniversary which I noted in the reservation, and to the waiter when we order two glasses of champagne, but they never did anything to acknowledge it. Most places do something as a courtesy. The best I can say is that the atmosphere is nice
Too noisy and very small table. Never heard of a restaurant charging for bread. Cocktails very weak. Entree nothing special. High prices but I guess people don’t mind because it was packed
Simply fantastic. Everything was prepared perfectly and Stacy our waitress was awesome! Can't wait to go back!
Excellent food, mixed drinks and service. The restaurant is on the expensive side, but you get what you pay for.
Shayna was excellent!! Please keep her and give her a raise!!
One of the finest and most enjoyable deals of my seven years on this planet. Simply outstanding from salad to dessert which was unbelievable. Would highly recommend the Washington in when you’re in Cape May
My new favorite restaurant! I've been wanting to eat here for years and finally had the chance on a recent vacation to Cape May. Now, no future trip will be complete without dining at the Washington Inn. Wonderful service, gorgeous atmosphere, and the food and drinks were to die for! It far exceeded my already high expectations and I can't wait to go back.
Our waitress, Karen, was wonderful. She made some great suggestions which enhanced our dining experience. The food was delicious. The French cheesecake was to die for.
Our food was outstanding and most delicious! Our waitress was definitely! Very friendly knowledable and helpful! Best service ever!!! We will definitey be coming back when we visit Cape May next time!
We love this top level restaurant. Everything is great from beginning cocktails and each course to desert. We had a wonderful table in the lovely main room and enjoyed every part of our dining experience!
Excellent food and experience. Miles our waiter was exceptional. Roasted mushroom soup, Boston oysters and tuna stack was amazing. Swordfish and rack of lAmb, yummy! Finish off with the espresso martinis. We’ll be back!
Food and service excellent. We come here every time we visit Cape May!
Stacy was so attentive and pleasant. We love going to the Washington inn.
Outstanding in every way. Loved the oysters rockerfeller and the bronzino was the best I’ve ever had . Staff was amazing especially Kit. Beautiful outdoor dining experience.
Best eatery in Cape May . Been a patron since 2011. Always consistent
The corkage fee of 30.00 was a surprise. Also sat downstairs in the wine cellar at a small table.Crabcake was fried not broiled
Awesome meal- we had the cioppino and the halibut. Both were awesome
