Food, service, ambience was excellent I would highly recommend going there
Love this restaurant! The atmosphere and food is great!
Over good but alittle cold need heaters for evening dining
They have a terrific "indoor" setting and food was very good. For lunch, prices are a little steep, but that seems to be everywhere these days.
Birthday. Staff was very nice but food was very much delayed. Shrimp tacos were over spiced and all food was over salted. Burger came out with bacon and well done when it was ordered as medium rare, no bacon. Asked for regular coffee and de-caff came out. Ambiance is nice but I would not go again.
I made a 6pm reservation to celebrate my in laws 75th birthday. We were seated at 6pm. Our server took our drink order at 6:15pm. We got our drinks. She informed us the kitchen was backed up. She took our food orders. At 7:30pm we were still seated without any food. The restaurant ran out of bread. We then decided it was best for us to pay for our drinks and leave. I spoke to the manager. He said we did not have to pay for the drinks (3 sodas and 2 glasses of wine). We left. Picked up McDonald’s on the way home. It was embarrassing and ruined our planned celebration.
Always a nice meal. I was there on Sunday for lunch and it was pretty chilly in the tent even though I was wearing a sweater. The floor heating system gets overwhelmed by the breeze coming through the windows. Hopefully, the restaurant can improve on the warmth in the tent and get the indoor seating open soon. My burger was great. My wife had the Frikadeller (Danish meatballs special). It has been amazing is the past. This time the sauce was not as tasty. The color of the sauce was much lighter and something was missing with the taste. We mentioned it to our server and were told the kitchen used different mushrooms for the sauce. Maybe but was not as good as in the past. Definitely will go back.
I have been to Washington House 2 times and both experiences were outstanding!! Food is amazing! Friendly greeting and servers were attentive and knowledgeable! Will make it a frequent stop!
Food too a little long to get but otherwise it was a nice dining experience
Wow! Found this online and decided to try it on a whim on our way back north from visiting a winery in Hunterdon County. It was the perfect place. They have done outdoor dining right! Spacious, classy, the food was amazing, and very reasonably priced.
Great place to meet a friend and catch up while leisurely eating a fantastic lunch
Service was very poor. It took an hour for kids to get their dinner and adults meals came later. Service told us there were 2 big parties that took priority.
Washington House is an excellent restaurant.
Always consistent, food is delicious!!
Great lunch in outdoor venue--appreciated the fresh air and ventilation. Delicious black bean burger and apple strudel. Friendly service.
It was very noisy and we waited about an hour and twenty minutes before the food arrived. I had the veal dish which was disappointing. Overall the dining experience was disappointing. We had been there twice before and had had a good experience.
Food was very good. Outdoor seating is fantastic. Service was very slow. Likely short on staff. Definitely will return. A new favorite. Just don’t be in a rush.
My wife and I went for an early dinner and had a wonderful time. The food was delicious. The oysters were fresh. The French onion soup was absolutely outstanding. The German braut dish was unbelievably delicious. Oh wait the apple strudel to finish off things holy mackerel was that great. Would recommend Washington house to anybody who wants to have a great meal. Food was little pricey but understandable in today’s world.
Music was a little too loud and country for my taste. Our waitress was cute but a little less than inviting and attentive. I don’t know that she could hear the order correctly and made an error. Have dined many times and it just seem like this was a little different than usual which is usually excellent.
First time there…Very VERY loud - they haven’t opened up indoor seating yet and it was hard to carry on a conversation - all surfaces are hard in the outside seating. With noise level and wait staff wearing masks - service was perfunctory and down to hand signals bc we couldn’t understand them. Also a bit chilly in the space. Food was VERY good. Don’t skip the breads- crusty and worth it. However, Wine by the glass are from $9 bottles of wine (retail), but with only 2 of us, opted for that. Not great and didn’t finish mine. At $11-12 per glass, they should be able to do a bit better than that. My date had Prosecco and that was ok. Will go back with another couple next time and just pick out a bottle to split. I’ll go back for the food. Wishing they open up indoor dining soon.
Great place - can’t wait to go back.
Great New American lunch menu and enjoyed outdoor dining.
Delicious food. Great service. Tent wins best tent!!!
Outdoor dining area was great- nice ambience and live performer. Food was very good to excellent. Service was friendly but a bit uneven. Had to ask for more bread and water for the table.
Overall a lovely experience and would definitely return!
Had heard so much about this restaurant and was very disappointed. Will not be back.
The outdoor tent is large with open windows and tables are well spaced. The Brussels sprout and kale salad was very good, big enough to split as an appetizer. I ordered the fish tacos, they were small and served with no sides. It was a small piece of grilled fish with a slice of avocado on top. Not very imaginative. I’ve had such better fish tacos elsewhere
Hannah c was delightful which made our meal even better.
Outdoor seating is great.
The new outdoor area is beautiful and clean! Great staff too. Was a little disappointed in the food. If the food was amazing, I would go more often with family and friends. Overall great place!
Food was very good, and the tent was spacious. But the service was lacking. The food was delivered by someone other than the waiter,, and the deliverer was incapable of handling simple requests like a refill on the iced tea. The waiter did NOT come by to ask how everything was until we were almost done.
Great service and beautiful atmosphere
New furniture addition is wonderful! Very comfortable!! Food good, service could have been better. Asked three times for glass of iced tea... enjoyed our lunch and would definitely go back.
The arugula, roasted plum and goat cheese salad was amazing. I had mine with grilled shrimp. The whole meal including the Butternut squash soup was just what I needed today. I’ll be back next week!
Terrible service bad attitude
Could not have been more pleasant. I’d bundle up and dine outdoors year round (if the side tent flaps were kept open.) All around lovely experience.
Looking forward to go back inside. Until then, the set up does not fit the expected experience. Too noisy, cafeteria style.
Great dinner options, especially fish/seafood choices. Relaxed atmosphere outside under the big tent.
The food was good, and we enjoyed our meal. The service was just OK. The server's mask consistently slipped below her nose. Our main course was served immediately after our appetizers were cleared and at least 5 minutes before our wine was served. It felt like we were being rushed even though the restaurant was not full, so that detracted from our experience.
Always good here except as of September 1 still operating out of the very large professional tent and not indoors.
Went for lunch on a Saturday. One large semi-outdoor room. Outdoor structure built over part of their parking lot; windows slide open and large fan provides ventilation, but we were seated near fan and it added noise to an already noisy environment. Many large picnic style tables with upscale, comfortable folding chairs; the two of us were seated at one of several four-man tables. To make it appear a bit more upscale, tables were covered with white tablecloths. Food was, for the most part, excellent. My son had the Washington Burger but the fries were overly salted. I had the Asian Salmon Burger which was fantastic; small side salad was Caesar salad, which was an odd choice but tasty. My son ordered the cheesecake with raspberry sauce (very good) but was provided with only a spoon to eat it (!) - we had to flag down our waitress to request a fork. Other than that, service was good. Not an inexpensive meal, though. No access to interior rest rooms; they have installed upscale portable bathrooms with running water which were clean and well stocked.
