Washington Crossing Inn Ratings and Reviews
There are not enough good things to say about Mike, our waiter. He is professional, a good listener, knowledgeable, humorous, friendly, and perfect in serving the customer. He represents your restaurant with pride.
Please share this with The WCI and Mike! Thank you.
Historic elegance, great service and warmth.
Dim Sum appetizer- only fair, steamed dumplings were a bit soggy, I made the mistake of pouring the dipping sauce over the dumplings and it imparted a strange taste, at least to my palate.
Prime Rib- Excellent, well seasoned and prepared
Schnitzel- Excellent as well, my wife loved it.
Bourbon bread pudding with vanilla ice cream- very nice however the bourbon was poured with a heavy hand and over-powered the other flavors.
To me still 4 stars overall due to other attributes which made the overall experience positive.
Was here with my women's group in Nov., and suggested to my husband that we go here for brunch on New Year's Eve. I don't know what I enjoyed more - the prime rib or the Salmon - both were delicious! The egg Benedict was also wonderful. Servers were somewhat attentive, just long lapses between "show-ups." Desserts could be a little more substantial.
My friends and I met for brunch here, and it was absolutely delightful. The brunch buffet had a ton of options, which we tried much of between the four of us. We especially enjoyed the blintzes, petit fours, and eggs Benedict. The waitstaff was attentive and pleasant. The restaurant was beautifully decorated and clean. There were quite a few other tables, but it didn’t feel crowded or loud. I will absolutely brunch here again!
Excellent food, but very very noisy staff... dropping handfulls of silverware in drawer, tossing items on trays. Felt like the bus boy was purposely making excessive noise. Every time we jumped, kept us from relaxing during our meal! Managers need to teach wait staff how to handle dishes, glassware and silverware without impacting the experience of the cystimer! Also our waitress was Missing in action, and it wasn't that busy. I had to get up twice to get her attention. Also had to order drinks from another waitress but our waitress was MIA for so long, then she came back and waited on other people and still no drinks. When I got up to ask, she new about the drinks but hadn't done it yet... we were halfway through our meal. Food 5 stars, service 2 stars and noise a zero stars!!
The service was good at first, but then took a while for our waitress to come to our table and check on us. It wasn't busy. I was disappointed when I got my food to go, but the person who packed my meal didn't bother to scrape any of the lemon caper sauce for my salmon in the to-go box so it was dry. The salmon also was overcooked in the first place so the sauce was much needed! Overall, beautiful ambiance and location. They decorated well for the holidays. The crab bisque was very good, albeit a bit pricey, and their bread selection was very good. My boyfriend enjoyed his Pizzette and thought the price for that was fitting. Overall pretty good but expected more for the price of the entree.
The crab bisque is amazing. We had soup and 1/2 of the pear salad which was delicious and plenty of food. Our server was Mike at lunch. Ask for him. He is just wonderful. Not only efficient but so pleasant. It was a very busy lunch time with holiday parties and he was still attentive and never seemed rushed.
My 91 year old mother wanted to dine at Washington Crossing Inn for a Christmas
experience. She had not been there before. She, my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our evening there on 12/14. Most importantly the Washington Crossing Inn did not disappoint
my mother. I know she had high expectations which were certainly met.
A lovely evening was had by all! We hope to return soon.
The Inn was beautifully decorated for Christmas. Our server, Jen, was very welcoming and efficient. I was delighted to see gluten-free options on the menu that were tasty and creative. I wish that one of the soups had been gluten-free--perhaps the chef could consider offering one? Everyone in my party enjoyed their entree. We will return!
Everything was delicious and a great variety on the brunch menu. We never felt rushed, but our server disappeared when we were ready to leave--and we waited about 20 minutes to find her and get the check. We would definitely go back! I would like to try lunch on a Saturday.
What can I say? Everything about this place is first class. It's just a beautiful place I loved every second of my dinner. Service is top notch. Food is terrific. Get going and enjoy a great night. It's nice to go somewhere and see that someone gets it. Perfect.
Pretty historical building. Decor and interiors need an update. They could use a good professional floral designer. Old fashioned and outdated china service. Food is okay . . . . .sort of trying too hard and menu does not have continuity. . . . from Dim Sum to Holiday Turkey. Sort of strange. They could use a better planned straight forward gourmet menu. Server was lovely and very on the ball.
