Washington Crossing Inn
Good food and relaxing
We went for my husbands birthday and our anniversary. The food was fantastic, from appetizers to dessert. We definitely will be returning soon!
Great place for outdoor dining which we do on a regular basis. They have 25 or more tables and a great covered bar.
We had a lovely light early dinner. A guitar was playing softly. Time to relax and enjoy..
Wonderful time. Service and food outstanding.
The brunch buffet was excellent! Great service kept the coffee flowing and made us feel welcome. I definitely will return when looking for something special.
Outstanding restaurant. Great food and staff. We had brunch there and everything was delicious.
I wanted to reserve a table outside for lunch for a table of 5 they wouldn't take reservations for outside, inside only.. In the summer the inside is always empty and the outside is busy so that makes no sense at all and does not the weather was forecast as beautiful so why wouldnt they take they hold a reservation, poor customer service in this regard. When we got there we wanted to sit at a table in the shade in the faux grass area by the fountain but we were told that area was "closed" there was noone in the restaurant yet.... and the table we wanted was steps from the "open area" on the pavers, again poor customer service.. Why so Rigid Washington Crossing Inn? We go seated in the back of the paver section on the patio which was nicely in the shade but a large loud fan was blowing making it necessary to speak up so we could have done without the fan. The food and service were the saving grace, we will go back but hope the managerial staff are less rigid by the time we do. The Inns outdoor space is gorgeous why not take reservations and why not walk a few more steps to serve a table if it makes them repeat customers?
it was a superb experience: food, waiter service, and music...……..the only exception was an impolite outdoor hostess.....she assigned my wife and me (7pm Saturday reservation) to an undesirable table remote from the musician and remote from other diners...…….we requested another table and were accommodated --but reluctantly and not enthusiastically, inspite of numerous alternative tables that were available.....throughout the evening, she seemed similarly unfriendly to other customers
The outdoor patio seating great!
We went for lunch and, since it was a beautiful day, asked for a table outside. I don't generally love outdoor eating because of the heat, sun, bugs, etc. At WC Inn, we had a table in the shade, and, because of the artificial turf in the eating area, there were no bugs coming up from the ground and didn't notice anything flying around--very pleasant. The food at Washington's Crossing Inn is consistently good. We were all very happy with our selections. The service was attentive and unobtrusive. Whenever our glasses of water or iced tea were low, they were replenished promptly. The area is enclosed with shrubbery, which makes the noise from the nearby road almost inaudible. All in all, a lovely lunch in a lovely spot.
This was our second time to enjoy dinner at Washington Crossing Inn. The first was in February 2019. We were a group of 4. We each order a 1/2 portion salad (each of us had a different one and no one was disappointed, whether it was the Caesar or the seasonals) and we ordered the Trio appetizer. It was hard to select only three; they all looked delicious and we enjoyed the ones that we selected, in particular, the flatbread with strawberries and balsamic glaze. Three of four of us brought home leftovers. Save room for dessert! We will definitely be back because the outside bar and dining experience is a must during the summer.
Was a wonderful experience
Quiet and classy; salad and dinner were delicious; nothing exciting on the dessert menu; great service
Outdoor seating w/ Keyboard player was nice, Parking lot was Full. Wine was to warm - due to outside bar?
While having business in the area, the wife and I decided to dine during one of our evenings at the Washington Crossing Inn. I found it online and thought it'd be a great experience and it didn't disappoint. The food, the atmosphere, the company were all an exception. Perhaps the only bad thing was that the wife got since about an hour before our reservation (which I made a month in advance), and because we had guests, I couldn't cancel, so I do feel somewhat guilt for enjoying myself, but two days later when she was feeling better and before we left the area, I took her there for lunch and she thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I look forward to returning when we're in the area again.
Always a pleasure to eat at Washington Crossing Inn, we dined outside this time and enjoyed the garden on a nice summer night! Food was good & well prepared.
Will go back again soon!
Delicious birthday brunch!
Sorry to say we were quite disappointed with our recent dining experience at Washington Crossing Inn. The waitress simply went through the motions, never smiled, and pretty much acted as if she was doing us a favor. Food was mediocre at best. Two of the people at our table had the special, grilled halibut. It was overdone and not tasty at all. The other two meals were ok, but nothing to write home about. All four of us dine out at least once per week. With the many restaurants in the area it will be unlikely we will return anytime soon. In conclusion, we are not complainers, do not mind paying for good meals and service. However, we do expect much more than our recent experience at Washington Crossing Inn.
Shaved prime sandwich was spot on delicious. A new favorite. Fries are usually very good but tonight were terrific. Service, as always, was friendly and efficient.
Good and atmosphere is always excellent. Our “go to” place for an enjoyable and excellent meal. Always consistent!!
Beautiful restaurant and grounds. Excellent menu. Service a little slow but all food arrived proper temperature.
We had a marvelous time for our first anniversary at the Inn. It’s where we got married!
Great restaurant. Enjoyed the food and service was impeccable. Thanks for a great night.
Another good meal at Washington Crossing Inn. Lunch was nicely presented and very good. Fresh and generous portion of salad. The only issue for me is the noise in the room in the front of the restaurant which is lovely with lots of windows....but the chatter is widespread. Eat in the inner dining room.
We don't like salmon and the Inn accommodated us with different finger sandwiches. The quiche was cold however. It would be better at room temperature or hot. The overall atmosphere is awesome.
Great Sunday Brunch. We ate outside, it was a beautiful day. Food was good, lots of choices. Excellent
We had a very nice June Saturday evening on the patio. They weren’t quite packed to the gills, so they let my wife and I sit outside at a table for five, which was very nice of them I thought. Service was excellent, not too quick and not to slow so we were never wondering where the food was and yet never felt rushed. Bartender knows what he’s about. I’d say the lump crab cake could have used more lumps, but mostly the food was excellent including the salads, oysters and oh my god the garlic bread! If we lived closer I’d be coming here during the week just for martinis and the garlic bread appetizer.
Great atmosphere, especially for a special occasion. Food is excellent and the service is stupendous. We had a fantastic anniversary experience!
Our lunch was very good and very leisurely. The lobster rolls were good, but not up to Maine standards. They could have been of a more generous size. The salad with fig dressing and shrimp was very good, although another shrimp or two would have been more generous. The bread pudding was good, but the best we've ever tasted. The cappuccino was very good. Service was excellent.
Normally a great place for a Sunday morning brunch, but this past visit was poor service and food. Most of the food (buffet) was cold or barely room temperature. When I ordered coffee, it took so long to get to the table that it was cold already. Hopefully, just a bad day because it is normally very good.
The food was delicious. The service was wonderful. I've never had a bad meal here. Highly recommended.
Beautiful Night. The outdoor seating is great.
We loved Washington Crossing Inn. The food is great. The ambience very special. It is close to home and we simply had a wonderful experience. We will be back again soon. And by the way, my husband has allergy issues and they handle his allergies beautifully. Shout out to Michael, our server. He was top notch!
very nice waitstaff, ambiance is nice, outdoor seating is great in good weather, food plated nicely, would recommend at the pricepoints for dinner - salad should be included and don't be stingy with the rolls.
We ate outside. The weather and surroundings were perfect. Food was delicious. A very nice experience. A bit pricey but nothing replace this beautiful landscaping.
Dined outside in their garden. Delightful experience! Food, drinks, service all excellent.
Awesome service that catered to our every whim! Ate on patio for lunch and it was a late-arriving lunch crowd. The lobster roll was on a small hot dog-sized bun, making it lunch-sized. Loaded with lobster chunks, so it was a treat! Made a few changes to the menu and the server was eager to please. Overall a great experience.
My wife and I were here for our 25th wedding anniversary. We were seated quickly in the beautiful dining room and everyone was nice. I ordered the chicken schnitzel, which was good. My wife’s pasta vodka was not good. We received a surprise glass of Prosecco each, presumably for our anniversary but the server didn’t say. That was nice.
