We had a good experience at this restaurant. Thoroughly enjoyed the dinner and atmosphere. My only recommendation is that the place needs to be updated a bit, it is a bit worn. I would recommend some nice lights out the back that would make the view a bit better than just looking at the cars.

Service is always incredible and consistent. No matter what I order the food is spectacular and delicious. Stuffed chicken and lobster ravioli is my top favourites.

It was a birthday celebration (was indicated on the reservation) & it was Valentine’s Day. It was never acknowledged. Also nothing was Valentine’s special but restaurant was packed so must be a popular place. Won’t be choosing it over Boathouse.

Washington Avenue Grill WAG is my favourite restaurant and has been for over a decade. Since I met my wife, I have been taking her to this restaurant and she quickly fell in love with it...and slowly in love with me. I have celebrated many different occasions at the WAG and have never been disappointed. From family lunch, birthdays, Xmas Dinner with our team or even a quick bite at the bar - the WAG is your choice. Friendly staff and a beautiful environment compliment the view out the wall of windows looking at the ocean outside. We used to live a few blocks away and visited quite often and now with a 40 minute drive, it is still our choice when we want to celebrate something special.

Meal of Seafood penne was great. Starter soup of potato leek seemed a little thick but flavour was good.
Service was friendly and attentive. Seemed a little quiet but that might just be what its like for a mid week lunch hour.

Food was good but not memorable. Had a good special on drinks. Service was attentive. Last few times were better in terms of the quality of food and presentation.

Normally great, but this time it was almost a never again experience. The table was uneven, and the complaint was quickly forgotten, never to be attended to. Room was cold and very loud. The waitress was slow to even say hello, and this contiued throughout, with drink refills being very rare.
While the food is always a delight, it was the lone bright spot of the night. When asked if we would like to review the desert menu, a check was brought instead. Asking about the desert menu again, only getting it 10 minutes later was the icing on the evening.
They were busy, I get it, but the only time we were ever really attended to was the time of tip. Not a how is your meal, or would you like a refill. Just small talk at tip time.

I really like this restaurant. The atmosphere is great and the live music is a big part of that. The food is delicious and the view of the ocean is beautiful. I did feel rushed by the table staff at this visit. We were looking for a relaxed visit with friends that we needed to catch up with. The table staff didn't seem to be quite tuned into that and kept tying to clear our appetizer share plates before the food was all gone. But that was the only negative. Everything else was great!

The setting here is wonderful with a beautiful view over the ocean towards Semiahmoo in the US. The food was decent (not exceptional). My wife and I shared the dry ribs which were tasty but perhaps a little too dry. They gave us focaccia bread with our meal and it was very dry (seemed like day old). My wife had the lamb shank and I had the pecan crusted steelhead salmon. Both tasted good but not something that I would refer to as "memorable". For dessert we shared a peanut butter cheesecake and that was the best part of the meal. Quite tasty. Service was friendly and efficient.

Can't say enough about the delicious meal we had at the WAG last Saturday. We went with their "Dine Out White Rock" menu which was excellent value and recommended as such by our server, Mike. We were dining with another couple and all of us ordered something different off the menu: Pecan Crusted Steelhead Filet,
Seafood Hotpot, Stuffed Chicken and the 7oz Flatiron Steak....all were incredibly delicious! We started with the Caesar Salads and one Mesculin Wild Greens , great start to the meal. Tiramisu and Peanut Butter Pie and Creme Caramel to round off a delicious evening.
Our server was attentive but not too much. The noise level has got to be the only detriment to the evening....very loud and you have to almost yell across the table. It is the nature of the place and I guess you always have to take that into account when dining there.
All in all a very good evening!

Had a great night. The server was very friendly and a little sarcastic which played well with our table. Her service all night was top knotch.
We ordered drinks (the WAG Ceasar was awesome and the Lemon Drops went down waaaay too fast) and appys. The crab cakes and Tuna Drop were both fantastic.
The currie and kaluha prawns were just the right amount of spice and the short rib fell apart on the plate melted in my mouth.
Overall the Washington Ave Grill is a place we would go back to time and time again.

My wife and I enjoyed every mouthful of our meal, unfortunately we did not have enough room for chocolate peanut butter pie - next time. We could have stayed all evening listening to Michael on the guitar and the beautiful selection of music. All in all a wonderful evening.

Unfortunately this was not a good experience for my partner after I had told her how good your restaurant was. She ordered a Caesar salad but the chicken was so spicy she was unable to eat any of it and sent it back. My fish hot chowder was so so. All in all not a good experience.

We have been to WAG many times and decided to go there for our 60th birthdays (three of us)

While this has been a favourite restaurant for us, for some reason it was underwhelming this time. Food was ok but not memorable, server the same. I had the Pecan Crusted Steelhead Filet which had little flavour at best. Mussels were good, calamari undercooked, bread was limited. Our friends had the Ribs and Seafood Pasta and they said they were excellent.

We will go back and try again, maybe it was just an off night and we picked the wrong menu items.

I love this restaurant. The food is consistently delicious. On this occasion I had the lamb shank which was awesome. The only under whelming food we had were the crab cakes appetizer. They were not the greatest, over fried and fishy tasting so will not order in future, but otherwise a great meal. Nice table too!
Thank you, and we will be back!
