I know everyone says this but I absolutely hate leaving these. I love going and giving 5 stars after an experience. I love pushing a restaurants rating up. I love to build up, not tear down. 25 long hard years in the food industry has taught me that there is no perfect. Only effort and dedication and integrity, if any of those had shown up I would have not said anything. I HATE complaining. It’s why I paid $300 for a meal that will go down in the annals of an extremely long dining history as one of the worst experiences of all time. There were no redeeming qualities to this meal and NO ONE cared. Examples: Ordered 2 Martinis 1 tasted like soap and had obvious spots. Grilled Shrimp App- rubbery, undercooked 16/20 shrimp with a disgusting sauce. Nebbiolo- grossly warm, well above room temp, and in a glass with lipstick marks. Prime Rib- This one hurt, it was the reason we were there. I have had better prime rib at a buffet in rural GA. They couldn’t hit a temp to save a life and I gave up hoping. I just ate the shoe leather and moved on. Sides- inedible, that’s all I’ll say. Service- absolutely apathetic. No manager on duty for my wife to speak with either. It was our 15th anniversary, this was supposed to be our celebration dinner and instead it was a disaster. We are so grateful that we went to Birch the previous evening because it has allowed us to shake this experience off as the nightmare that it was.

Food was excellent but service was poor. Made a reservation and arrived on time. They didn’t have a table ready and we stood at the hostess table for 5 minutes while the tried to figure something out. They then proceeded to ask that we sit at the bar while we wait for our table. Two other groups who arrived after us were seated at their tables immediately. We arrived at our table 20 min after reservation time. Bartender did not properly communicate that bar drinks needed to be purchased with them rather than transferred to dining table tab. Only two other tables were seated in our section after we were seated with many other open tables available. Second round of drinks ordered took forever to get to our table and we waited quite a while to order. Once food was ordered it arrived quickly. Given the price tag of menu items, the poor service was very disappointing.

Table of four. Our server, Tim , was superb. Entrees and apps top notch. The bottle of Blackbird Contrarian Cab Franc was delightful.

The prime rib ( although lukewarm- even when asked to be the-heated), was excellent, as was the chopped salad. The rest of the food was mediocre. The creamed spinach was bland and boring. A better quality bread in the basket would have been expected for a restaurant at this level. Premium price for parking added to the premium cost of dinner. Won’t be returning.
