Brunch: Saturday & Sunday 10:00 AM-3:00 PM
Dinner: Sunday- Thursday 5:00 PM-10:00 PM, Friday & Saturday 5:00- 11:00 PM
Went there before an event at TD Garden. It was noisy as others have mentioned, but overall a nice atmosphere and the wait staff were friendly and quick. The food was good; nothing amazing but nothing bad either!
Mac and Cheese was so good! Really like what the menu had to offer.
Good spot before going to the Garden. Decent food and drinks and cool place. Drinks were a little slow, but the bar was packed.
Great spot with delicious food/drinks and excellent staff! Highly recommend!
Busy, crowded, loud scene. Despite the commotion, very good service and food was quite good. Cocktails also very good. Great location for eating prior to any event at TD Garden, which is right around the corner.
Enjoyed the food and cocktails at Ward 8. Service was nice. A heads up for anyone looking to have a conversation with their dining companions, the noise level for a Friday evening dinner was off the charts. You couldn't hear each other. I think it's probably a fun bar hang out, but it was too loud for dinner.
I will say the food, drinks, and service were really good. Cheesy bacon fries and 5 layer dip were delicious and the salads looked good as well (my friends got the salads and liked them; personally, I hate salads).
I took off 1 star for food because: the pork on the tacos were dry and the ramen was quite bland.
Great craft cocktails and don’t miss the duck wings. Perfect place to go before a game or concert at TD Garden.
Cool place, limited menu, Cobb Salad with grilled chicken was delish! It's VERY LOUD couldn't talk each other without saying "what? What did you say" we ate and left. found a quiet cool place not far to chill with a drink, before the concert.
We are here before a concert. We didn’t realize it, but they said we had to vacate the table in 1.5 hours. It wasn’t a problem for us, but I think they should have stated that when we made the ressie. The drinks were very good. I got the French Tickler and my fiancé got the What’s She Having. The tuna tartar was not that good. Too salty. We had the mussels and they were okay. Not a lot of flavor. The duck wings were excellent. Would go back next sporting or concert event.
Convenient location in the North Station area. Food and service were both good. Music was a bit loud for a business lunch.
The food was less than mediocre and after 30 minutes we asked where our drinks were - we were told the bartender was newer and slow. The gnocchi was undercooked and swimming in a bowl of butter. Not worth the trip.
A friend recommended this restaurant to us saying the food was excellent. We are an older couple and although the food was excellent, it was a very loud and energetic place to us. We would say it's more of a bar with food than a restaurant. We certainly enjoyed the food, but it was too loud to have a conversation. If you're looking for a hot spot with excellent food, this is the place to go!
It was a birthday brunch and it was great!
Food for lunch is great and cocktails in the evening are pretty good, but food for dinner is lackluster - tuna tartare had very small amount of tuna and was mostly cucumbers. Fried chicken sandwich was also small. Would definitely recommend for the lunch menu though.
Dinner before a concert. Great selection, well plated food and great service
Good place to meet before a show at td garden. Menu has fun apps, salads, burgers, fish. Enough to suit a group. Drinks are interesting, draught beers are eclectic. Fun place overall
Few gluten free options.
I liked Ward 8 overall. The food was delicious. The noise level was noticeable and detracted from the dining experience. I would return but only with an energetic group that didn't mind a lively experience. It was hard to have a conversation with people in your party.
My daughter and I came here for a pre-show dinner. When we first got there, the bar was hopping. Keep in mind is was 5 pm on a Thursday so it was a happy hour crowd. We were seated immediately, however it it took nearly 10 min for someone to come to our table, not to take our order but to tell us the waitstaff was in a meeting and it should be ending soon. This made me angry because the hostess could have taken our drink order or asked the 3 bartenders standing around to help. Aproximately 5 minutes later our waitress arrived. She was very nice and apologized for the wait. She took our orders without an issue. That is what saved this place from a negative review.
On to food. It was ok. Noting spectacular. Having a vegitarian always is a challenge at restaurants. Ward 8 had a few meals and apps but this is defiantly geared for neat eaters. We settled on two apps , five layer dip and the flat bread. The dip was delicious!!! Rich, creamy and flavorful. I would order that again in a heartbeat. The portion was small but again it is an app. The flatbread was boring. Thank goodness for the balsamic reduction!
Beer menu is limited, but the mixed drinks were pleantiful.
This to me is a happy hour bar. It was lively with the after work crew. The noise level was high, but not unbearable.
Not a bad place overall.
Overall good experience, however, it was very noisy. They had the doors to the street opened and it was difficult to have a conversation without talking very loudly.
It was ~90 degrees and humid yesterday and they had the windows open making it unbearably hot inside. There was a heat pump but with all of the people and the open windows unfortunately it didn’t make a difference. Ward 8 is close to where I live so I continue to go but service is notoriously slow- probably won’t be back for awhile
Food was just okay at best. We sat a very nice table with the open windows facing the street. It was just way too noisy.
I went to take my girlfriend out for her birthday. The appatizers were great and we liked the vibe of the place but once we got our actual meal.. My steak frites was the worst steak i think i've ever had and it was cooked right (medium rare) so whatever cut they're giving you should not be 8oz for 35$. It was tough and i literally had to spit most of it in to my napkin without my girlfriend seeing. Her little lobster rolls looked like something you'd get at a mundane cook out.. over all super dissapointed and kinda felt robbed by the end of the night.
The fried chicken sandwich was incredible!
This rustic pub/restaurant offers a fast paced ambiance with great servers just a five minutes walk from TD Garden. Drink menu is sufficient (we had Moscow Mules with crushed ice). Pub food as well as salmon & chicken is offered along with wall to ceiling windows which were wide open to allow for an outdoor seating feel.
Dinner before Celtics game. Very loud but to be expected
Ward 8 is nothing special. I was seated early (had reservations) but had to ask for a different table because the one that they picked was right in the middle of all the traffic. I was told when I called that there would be something special (menu, etc.) for Mother’s Day but there was not. It was loud and the dress code there is sloppy casual. Our waitress was polite but not friendly and the service was very slow. They did not offer the lunch menu in addition to the brunch menu which was disappointing because I had picked out what I wanted ahead of time but couldn’t get it. My food was pretty good. It’s truly just a place to grab some food or drink before or after a game. Very poor choice for special occasions. Also, I was notified by Open Table later that day that I was a no-show! I’m guessing this was the restaurant’s fault. I had to make sure they corrected it so that it did not reflect badly on me. 🙁
I had a great time at this restaurant - the food tasted great, the service was on top of things while being friendly and polite, and the energy in the space was fun and vibrant! Definitely recommend checking it out - a more modern and multi-cuisine feel compared to all of the Italian surrounding it!
Was so disappointed. Ward 8 looks so good! It’s not. The service was sloppy (it took literally almost a half an hour for someone to take our order even after trying to wave our server down), and I ordered $15 fish tacos. I was really surprised when they brought me two tiny tacos, a limp green salad (like a handful of sad lettuce) and some boring and tasteless home fries. I would have been happier at a taco truck. Overall huge thumbs down.
Far too loud.
We had a great time, with great food. The miso salmon dish has always been a favorite & wasn't disappointed! Indicated on Open Table it was for a birthday but no acknowledgement from anyone - even at the door. Surprised but no big deal.
They didn’t have a table for us til 25 min past our reservation time. Then had to wait over 20 min for our check due to a system malfunction. Disappointing that a manager didn’t come over to accommodate us after being inconvencied twice.
Food was great . Service was great , beers were cold . Thank you
Run down dining room. Greesey food. Sub par entrees
Great food and great service. And reasonably priced!
Love the menu! It’s about the only restaurant near the TD Garden with serves interesting food and drinks that are worthy for foodies. I the only drawback is it’s a bit loud.
Waiting 10 minutes and no one even acknowledged us standing there. Only theee tables being used so they were not busy. Finally left. Bartenders just continued to talk to each other and no one else ever apppeared to seat us
Great place to eat that will take reservations before a game. Food was not your typical bar food and was incredible. I highly recommend the pork buns and the gnocchi. The service was exceptionally well. The staff was very attentive. We will definitely be going back.
Great location for a drink and food before any td garden event. Service was slow for foid but the drinks were faster. Enough variety on the menu to suit our group.
