Very loud and seating was very close.
Average brunch food, crappy service. Had the crab cake benedict and it was good but nothing special. Nice atmosphere.
excellent service and great vibes. a bit expensive and loud but I really enjoyed myself.
We always enjoy W8. opted to sit inside near open windows instead of patio. For apps we had burrata toast w shisto peppers, fresh quac and ducks wings - burrata was fresh and creamy, quac and chips made to order and duck wings had great spicy marinate. everyone enjoyed entrees which included fresh ahi tuna with pear salad and healthy option of W8 bowl w spinach, farro quinoa fresh pears and apples w tasty lite dressing. 4 or 5 nice salad combos to chose from with grains, greens and fruit w add-ins like salmon and steak available. in house choc/vanilla cream for desert - triple sized. as always, a great selection of beers and craft cocktails. service, price point and atmosphere can't be beat.
Great food, service wasn’t great but frankly I understood that because I know help is so hard to find. What I was most concerned about at this restaurant was how close the tables were to each other during this pandemic. They seem to think it’s fine to have strangers sitting 2.5 feet away from each other. I didn’t feel good about that at all and they should smarten up.
We had an outside reservation so obviously one would expect the noise level to be higher. We were seated punctually and our waiter greeted us soon after we sat down. We were very impressed with how quickly our food arrived. Most in our group were satisfied with our food with the exception of the Fish & Chips which was slightly undercooked.
Went here before a concert at TD Garden. Casual atmosphere, good food, great drinks.
The waiter was so kind and attentive! Very accommodating and the drinks and food were delicious!!
Went with my family, all of us very much enjoyed our time and experience
We had a later reservation for an outside seat, arrived on time and were seated quickly. We did not have a scannable menu board on our table and no one came over to the table right away, so we found the menu on their website ourselves. We were unable to find any dessert menus online, so a missed opportunity perhaps. Waitstaff wasn't super friendly but brought drinks and fries (the only food we ordered) quickly. Prices were a bit high for the serving size. Everything was tasty and people watching was stellar in this location.
We had reservations and were sat a little earlier than our scheduled time. We had drinks from the bar that we brought with us. I’m not sure if that’s why but no one ever came to the table after we were sat. I had to stop a server as she was walking by. I felt like we never had a dedicated server and whoever was available brought our stuff. The girl we put our order in with never came back and the hostess (or manager?) actually brought our drink refills. If we lived in Boston, I would never come here again.
great service, $5 mimosas, and chicken and waffles for a perfect brunch :)
The patio could be great if there was greenery or something to separate it more from the street, but with just the railings, it feels like you’re eating in the road. I would also say everything was overpriced for what it was. It was good but not up to the price standard based on how basic it was.
Food and service are great. Our waiter was so kind and attentive to our group of 9, including 4 small children.
But this outdoor dining experience almost shouldn’t be allowed - placed at a very busy intersection on N Washington Street, it is SO loud and traffic fumed. I guess desperate times call for desperate measures and if it allows people to dine out during a pandemic, great. But the ambiance is really tough.
Second time there for brunch. Both times, very satisfied with food quality and amount.
Thoroughly enjoyed this place. It’s hard to beat great cocktails and awesome food. Had the fried chicken sandwich and old bay wings. Phenomenal choices. Good mixologists as well!
We reserved a table for a Friday night dinner. This place is usually fully booked. Unfortunately, we did not get outdoor. Staff was sweet and nice to talk to.
We went in and ordered 5 drinks. All of them were full of ice.
My Moscow Mule came in approx 10oz mug. And 3/4th of my mug was filled with ice. Please ask for no or less ice.
Also called for chips and Guac, Guac was good.
French fries were soggy and the dip it came with was ridiculous.
By this point, I was so disappointed that we decided to leave without ordering dinner. These things cost us around $85 + tip. I am not going again.
Brunch: food was solid. Didn't love the decor - if you can call it that. Server was attentive. Bloody Mary had almost no vodka in it but i didn't mind as I'm not really a day drinker. If you are looking for something stronger though, this wasn't it. It was overall just fine.
Great fun! Patio is great, drinks were great. Food was yummy. Love Ward 8. It's on my list of places to keep going back to.
The space, people, and drinks were great! But it seemed like the kitchen had a very off night… I’d go back for cocktails before a concert, but not for the food.
Very clean and very nice front of house staff.
Fantastic restaurant. Food, server & atmosphere were all top notch. Would definitely return and recommend to others.
The outside dining near the busy street is fun but can be loud at times. The waitress was phenomenal but she was definitely working too many tables at one time.
Bets guac I’ve ever had
Raw fish and the place was beyond loud. Worst fish I have ever had.
Perfect for brunch and good menu — loved the classic breakfast!
Waiter was openly hitting on my friend’s girlfriend and winking at her which was annoying
Came for brunch and had a great experience! Made an outdoor reservation and it was surprisingly not crowded outdoors even though it was Father's Day. Loved the make-your-own mimosa situation and our server was great!
Food was good. Service was great. I’d go back again
We came here for the first time for Taco Tuesday! Definitely recommend the chicken tacos, they were amazing. Great drinks and service too! It was a cool and quirky spot (:
Awful Outdoor seating. On corner of loud busy street. Did not stay.
The food was fantastic, the staff was very COVID conscious, and it was very clean!
Service was really good and so were drinks. For appetizers we had crabcakes and pork belly steam buns - it was incredible. Unfortunately we had steak Frites and it was overcooked. My husband said it they were the worst steak Frites he ever had. He asked for medium and it came out over done. I got the salmon glaze with teriyaki sauce. Unfortunately the sauce was all over the salmon and over powered the flavor.
The food was very good. It was a bit loud but maybe because I’m old. The waiter couldn’t hear us because of the loudness. Waiters were a bit slow at the beginning but it seemed like they may have wanted to speed us up at the end. We were only there 1.5 hours so we weren’t taking too much time. I don’t like getting the bums rush undeservedly.
Pre-game dining at Ward 8 always delivers, from the craft beers, to the duck wings and chicken wings appetizers thru to the main course; no rush and to TD Garden with plenty of time to spare
Love the service and the outdoor patio. Drinks are always fantastic. Pork buns need an update with softer (less tough) and fattier pork belly pieces - then would be perfect.
Ward 8 is one of my favorite spots. The burger is a must have and it brings me back every time. I decided to branch out and get the Mac and cheese as well last night and it just was not good. Very one dimensional with flavor and not enjoyable. On top of that, the drinks were not what we typically expect and seemed to be made quite differently than normal. Service was poor as we waited 15 minutes just to get water and be greeted.
Met here with clients before a Bruins game, and it was great because there wasn’t as much noise as other bars in the area. I didn’t eat the food, but everyone else seemed to enjoy it and the drinks were great. Service was a bit of a hit or miss - at one point we constantly had a rotation of servers checking, and towards the end they forgot my drink for almost 20 minutes. Overall, I would probably go again but just for work purposes, not sure I would come here with friends.
We were essentially ignored for much of the night by our server. He came to take our drink orders after we'd been sitting for 10 min or so and let us know the bar was backed up, but our drinks took another 20 min to come and he was no where to be found in the mean time to take our food order. Our food came out cold, even the fries which are pretty hard to mess up. I usually love Ward 8, but they felt like a mess and the service was such a wash. The people that were most friendly and efficient were the kitchen staff who brought out our food when again our waiter was no where to be found. This was my first visit since the pandemic, but I must say I think the quality of both food and service has drastically dipped.
Great service and fantastic management! Love this place and the location and feel are awesome. I don’t remember our servers name but he was incredibly friendly, patient and helpful with the manager!
Will absolutely be back!
Great meal! James was excellent.
