The fish tacos and margaritas were awesome! This is a great place for brunch
Ward 8 has phenomenal food. The Ahi Poke starter was a nice way to kick start my sister's birthday dinner. Our wedge salads were so fresh and the added steak was cooked perfectly. Our experience with the delicious food however, was overshadowed with how inadequate the service was. It occured right when we sat down. There was no introduction to the establishment or themselves. It took forever to even establish which server was ours. 3 different people took our order. It was very patchwork service. We ordered 2 wine bottles and there was no real attention to our glasses. I wished it wasn't so awkward with every interaction with the staff. I probably won't be going back and it's a bummer because like I said the food was it's only saving grace.
We went here before a concert - must make reservations in advance as they really don’t take walk-ins on busy nights. Less than a 5 minute walk from the garden so you really can’t beat the location! We had some great drinks (what she’s having) and split the Cobb salad as an appetizer which was awesome. I had steak frites for my entree and loved it. Their dessert menu is very unique and a must try - we had their soft serve special which had pineapple and coconut mixed in. Service was great, and pricing is exactly what I would expect for the location/type of food.
The food and drinks were great, and the servers were attentive. Ward 8 is pricey, but it's expected of the area. A great spot to meet up with friends mid-week.
5 of us went for brunch. Service was wonderful. Food was good but the brunch menu is limited. Everything we ordered was very good and they even allowed for customization The only downside was the noise level-- loud inside and the windows were open to North Washington Street which increased the noise level 10 fold-- blaring horns, bus exhaust detected from the experience
Perfect place for a preconcert meet up!!
Very loud...wrong drinks...mediocre food
Really excellent salmon and duck wings - practically fell off the bone. Service was excellent.
Good: seating by the windows is pretty good, went in the summer so the open air atmosphere was cool. Food was decent, drinks were good, service was very good.
Bad: expensive, but that's to be expected for the area. Food was good but not spectacular.
Dinner with two friends. Easy spot to just chat and catch up. Food was perfect.
Very friendly host and wait staff. The cocktails were terrific and the food was wonderful.
Food was great as always, but the restaurant was barely half full and our waiter kept disappearing. It took forever just to get water and he wasn't even that busy.
Had pork rolls, Caprese and a pesto pasta. All good, however, the pasta entree was the size of an appetizer, not an entree. All in all a good meal.
Food is a little over priced for what it is as it is only american gourmet. Drinks were a little expensive. The tofu on my salad was not cooked very well and was too floppy - should have been nice grilled and crisped up to be tasty.
So I looked this restaurant up online because I saw the short rib. However that was taken off the menu and not updated online so you can imagine the surprise when it wasn't on the menu when we arrived. The food here was hit and miss. The Mac and Cheese with jalapeños and the momo dumplings were lovely. The steak frite, ramen, pizza, and pork buns were meh. The steak frite ordered medium (to well) came out rare and had tough meat. The ramen was extremely salty and the eggs that were shoyu marinated tasted like the 1000 year old fermented eggs. They must have sat in that shoyu for at least a month. The pizza had mediocre flavor and was nothing special. The pork buns were good but the ratio was completely off - 90% bun to 10% meat. I would say in a neighborhood of primarily Italian foods this restaurant needs to find a chef that will propel them to the top of the American food list. Unfortunately, today was a miss for us. Lots of potential, good location, good atmosphere, but in dire need of a new chef and menu updates.
We both had salads that were fantastic. It was a bit loud with the window open to the road but everything else was great!
Waitresss seemed angry the entire time but food was very good
I was disappointed by the service and food. Our hostess gave us a time limit before seating us. Said we needed to be out by 8pm. The service was then poor. Took forever to take our order. Our entree salads were all given to the wrong person. The cheese plate starter looked pre-eaten, as if it was leftovers.
Slow service, and they charged us for food they never brought out.
We go to Ward 8 each year for our anniversary and have never been disappointed. The cocktails are fantastic and the food is always filling, but never over-indulgent. Waitresses are friendly and we always feel well looked after. I would recommend Ward 8 to anyone looking for a date night, girls night out, or just a place to sit at the bar and enjoy the ambiance.
The drinks were good, but the service was slow and the portions were small. I'd recommend as a spot to pop in for drinks and maybe an appetizer, but not a full meal.
Easy place to grab a bite near the Garden. Went for a work lunch, and it was great!
Best salads ever and best drinks!!
Highly recommend! Very cozy.
Place was nice. Not anything great, but not anything to really complain about.
Their signature "Ward 8" cocktail seemed to be nothing but sour mix, but then the Old Fashioned I ordered was great.
Food was good, but nothing to really write home about.
Biggest concern of the evening was that they had their front windows wide open because the weather was kinda nice. But the tall buildings around created a wind tunnel effect that felt we had a big fan on us for our whole meal. And it was VERY loud, not because of the noise in the restaurant, but of the 6 lane heavily trafficked road 5 yards from our table. We would've moved tables but the place was too crowded.
Drinks were very good. Food was overpriced considering most of it came out at or around room temperature.
So amazing! Those duck wings!
Delicious brunch great menu
Went for brunch on Mother’s Day. Food and service were both great. Highly recommend.
The food was great, the drinks were great, must see!
Celebrated a Birthday here. Went specifically for the oyster shooters & they were only on the brunch menu. Please make them available all the time.
The wait staff seemed non-existent and was terribly slow. We ordered drinks and then ordered apps over 10 mins later and the apps came before our drinks. While the food was excellent the service left a lot to be desired!
Enjoyed having dinner and drinks here before Bruins game. Was crowded and loud as expected. Service was good despite crowd. The meals were just okay - nothing special. Appetizers were great. Overall a good experience.
Great for before Celtics game
Stopped in for a quick lunch. Service was excellent. Salads and sandwiches were on point.
We came before the Cher concert and none of my friends had been here. They all enjoyed their choices. I knew they would. The duck wings are a MUST!!! We should have ordered more. The service was spot on. The atmosphere was charged, very busy, very chatty, but fun! This is a great spot near TD Garden.
awesome as always. The food was delicious and the drinks very drinkable. Service was great and price very reasonable.
Limited lunch menu is served until 5 on Sundays which is kind of strange when you make a dinner reservation for 4:30. Appetizers are expensive, but everything we ordered was delicious.
Service mediocre and way too loud
Solid bar with good bistro style food. They specialize in cocktails
Great food and drink! Service was outstanding!
