Great food and drink! Service was outstanding!
Always a great meal.
Overpriced and very limited menu
Good ambiance, lively and energetic. Good selection of beer on draught.
Six of us went there for Sunday Brunch. Everyone loved what they ordered. Out waiter was very attentive. The prices were very reasonable. One person ordered the steak and eggs and it looked outstanding! Try it sometime!
If you're going for an upbeat bar scene, then this is the place to go. Otherwise, it's really very loud for dinner. Still, the drinks and the food are fantastic!
We were in town for the weekend for the Bruins game and needed a nosh before the game. I had the French toast bread pudding and my wife had the lobster roll. The French toast was great, but I would have liked one more slice for the money. My wife liked the roll, but would have like more chunks of lobster and the roll toasted. Overall good food and the waiter was pretty good. The place is compact; long and narrow and the sound reverberates, so it was quite load. Fortunately we sat by the window, so we may have avoided the bulk of the noise. Certainly worth a try if you are looking for a quick meal at a reasonable price; the French toast was quite good.
Loved the small plates (especially the pork buns). Drinks were interesting as well. A little expensive for not a ton of food, but if you want variety this is the place!
Great, great service...food was very good, though not as great as normal...skip the shishito peppers...awful...
Very disappointed in my recent experience at Ward 8. We went to have dinner before an 8pm concert nearby, with reservations at 6pm. It should have been plenty of time, but it took 40 minutes for appetizers to arrive, and the main entrees never arrived. We had to leave at 7:45pm in order to get to the show, and the food still had not been served. Two hours should be plenty of time to have dinner. The server was excellent and apologetic but clearly something was wrong in the kitchen. I've been to Ward 8 many times, both before events and on non-event days but never experienced anything like this before.
Don’t go here before a Garden event. They can’t handle the volume at bar and kitchen.
Had a table for 4, 15 minutes to get a drink and well over an hour for our meal. Unacceptable to the patrons. We go to many games and shows at Garden and thought We would give this place a try. Never will go back here.
Super loud, to the point of being unable to have a conversation among those at our table.
Food was average. Ramen was very good, fried chicken sandwich was tough and stringy. Burger was good. Overall would not return.
We went for brunch on a Saturday before a 1pm Bruins game. It was our first time here and will defintely not be our last. We got a bottle of champagne, which came with a small carafe of your juice of choice. I had the avocado toast, whic was topped with 2 poached eggs and cotija cheese. SO GOOD!
So good. Easy access and great for brunch. Def worth the value.
Ordered the steak frites and they came out raw. Waitress was very responsive and took them back right away. However, she came back with them not even 5 minutes later and clearly weren’t cooked still. No follow up from management or the waitress from there. Didn’t even eat the dish and still paid for it.
Good was awful
As a parent with two very hangry kids, it was so nice of Brian to hold our OpenTable reservation while we were stuck in traffic. By the time we parked, every place had a 30+ minute wait. He rocks!
Our waitress was attentive and got our order in right away and food came out FAST. I mean super fast. Not sure how they pulled that off with it that crowded. Very loud bustling city spot on a Friday evening and it made for a perfect pre-game experience. Food was solid. My son’s burger was juicy and tasty. The Mac and cheese was good.
Between the service and food we will definitely be back to Ward 8!
Great location if taking in a show at the Garden. Great food and prices are on par for Boston. Good cocktails and solid beer selections. Only issue for me was the noise. Between the sound system and surrounding conversations it was difficult to hear the person sitting two feet across from me. Otherwise a solid place to go and I would visit again.
Our food was good. The shishito peppers were yummy. The salmon and chicken roulade a bit over cooked. Our waiter was helpful.
A great brunch place in Boston! I came here with a group of four people. We split a bottle of champagne and a couple of carafes of juice. Our food needed hot sauce but they were able to provide that quickly and that helped a bunch. Service was ok. Our server seemed like she didn't want to be there but we didn't let that dampen the mood.
Way overpriced. Food not good. No dessert choices. Would not go there.
Perfect place for drinks and dinner before a game or event at the Garden. Quick walk to the Garden and easy parking close by.
We arrived with emailed reservations. Upon arrival our reservations were not on the list. The host was polite and was nice enough to give us a table. We ordered drinks and a couple appetizers to start with. The chairs were uncomfortable I was unsure why a restaurant would have metal chairs like this. They are far from comfortable. The waitress was very polite we ordered short ribs and pork buns. The ribs came out before the drinks made it to the table which shocked me. Then we tried them and knew why, they were dry and tasteless. They had the appearance of something that had been cooked hours before and were left to dry out. Over all it was a nice atmosphere but the two appetizers were enough that we chose to eat elsewhere.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Boston. Food is amazing, but the cheese plate is less than average. Large toast, average cheese, and smuckers jam?? You could put out 1 soft and 2 hard cheeses, crackers, honey, and charge a few bucks more if needed. I understand if it’s not ordered that often, but then maybe take it off the menu?
In all honesty this place is incredible otherwise!
Great good and great ambiance. Not too noisy at all either.
Great loved it!
Excellent burger. Great service. Perfect dinner before the Bruins game.
Ward 8 is a great date night restaurant. It is conveniently located near TD garden so it's the perfect place to get dinner and drinks before a game or concert. I highly recommend the Chicken Roulade :)
Thoroughly pleased with our pre-game dinner at Ward 8. Cool and interesting space in old police station, quick and attentive service, lively atmosphere, and well portioned and flavorful food for a fair price. Noise level detracts from overall expereince - lots of hard surfaces in the space could be addressed to minimize noise.
Great location and great atmosphere. However. Drinks were short. Food was less than enjoyable. Duck wings were way too sweet, I mistook the burger for a slider. The Cobb salad was mostly lettuce tomato and an egg. And the lettuce was not very appealing. Service was prompt, but our server seemed frantic and overworked.
The gnocchi was delicious I had to slow down eating it so that I didn’t horrify my guests!!
Service was slow. My salmon came out uncooked.
Very small. Bar is super crowded. One stall bathrooms make for longer waits. But good service and food. We'd go back!
Cocktails are some of the best and most creative in Boston, and the food is excellent too!
The windows let in a lot of light, which is great for a winter brunch. The food was delicious and came out quickly! Service was pretty good when we were there, but we were on the early side for brunch, so it wasn't very busy until about halfway through our meal.
Great place for a date! Went here on Valentine’s Day with my girlfriend and we had great dinner and drinks!
Was fairly loud and the food wasn’t very good. We had good service.
Great place. good vibe. loud. excellent service. good menu options for a range of food preferences and limitations.
Limited menu and poor food quality. Look elsewhere.
The atmosphere, food, and waitress were fantastic. However, they staff 1-2 bartenders to serve 100+ people. Therefore, we could barely get one drink made in the 90 minutes we were there and had to cancel the second set of drinks ordered because it was taking another 25+ minutes to make 4 drinks and we had to head to the Celtics game. How does management not realize that on a Thursday evening it will be crowded and you need to staff appropriately. Do not head here for dinner prior to an event at TD if you’re hoping to enjoy a meal and a couple drinks as you won’t actually get the drinks.
