Great place for a date! Went here on Valentine’s Day with my girlfriend and we had great dinner and drinks!
Was fairly loud and the food wasn’t very good. We had good service.
Great place. good vibe. loud. excellent service. good menu options for a range of food preferences and limitations.
Limited menu and poor food quality. Look elsewhere.
The atmosphere, food, and waitress were fantastic. However, they staff 1-2 bartenders to serve 100+ people. Therefore, we could barely get one drink made in the 90 minutes we were there and had to cancel the second set of drinks ordered because it was taking another 25+ minutes to make 4 drinks and we had to head to the Celtics game. How does management not realize that on a Thursday evening it will be crowded and you need to staff appropriately. Do not head here for dinner prior to an event at TD if you’re hoping to enjoy a meal and a couple drinks as you won’t actually get the drinks.
Our server, Laitan(?spelling) made our pre-Celtic brunch phenomenal. She was patient, friendly, and energetic. The food was and drinks were fantastic and we will definitely go back!
We arrived a little early for our reservation and they were able to seat us. Waitress was very nice, service was quick, and food was delicious. I would definitely eat there again. We were headed to a concert at the Garden so the location is perfect.
We were visiting from out of town and staying around the corner at the Marriott. Three girlfriends went for brunch on a Saturday and the menu was so great, we went back the next day to order the dishes we were torn between the day before. 6 brunch items in total all delicious. The prices were very reasonable, a perfect amount of food. Definitely did NOT feel rushed. The Bloody Marys were fantastic. If I lived closer I would go all the time. I absolutely recommend Ward 8 for Brunch. It seems like it would be fun and yummy in the evening too.
It was so loud it was painful. Impossible to hear one another or the server. I’ve never experienced anything like it.
We went before the Celtics game. Only place that was walkable to the Garden and took reservations. Table was ready and we were in and out in 40 minutes. Ward 8 burger was great. Loud in there but looked like an after work bar and other sports fans. Definitely go back.
Interesting food, a step above the usual bar items. Very attentive service. Cost of a pint was $9, which is expensive to a non-Bostonite like myself, but perhaps normal in the 'big city'. Very loud environment, but what can you say, it is a popular place. Overall we enjoyed it for dinner before a game at TD Garden.
Food is always great. Try the duck wings. This place never disappoints.
It was great.
Great place before a game at the Garden. Great price point. Good pork buns, adequate tuna burger. The roll for the burger was better then the tuna, about 1/4 if which was inedible because it was stringy. Fries were delicious and so over salted that they led to sweating while eating. Good drinks. Great service. A pure Boston experience in the sense that the only reason to eat here, and it’s a good one, is that it’s the best bet near the Garden, far more enjoyable than two other places, one very new and one that’s long been popular.
I’ve been to Ward 8 several times and every time it’s the same story. The food is good. The drinks are good. But the service is terrible - essentially non-existent. If you’re in a hurry, don’t go here.
Food and service were excellent. We went for dinner before a Bruins game, so restaurant was packed and loud, but that’s to be expected before a game. We will definitely be back!
We had AMAZING service. Waitress was great, helped us navigate the menu and was good at keeping our drinks full. The food and drinks were delicious and quickly arrived after ordering. Highly recommend.
Food and service is great!
Good place to go before an event at the Garden. Food and drinks were good overall. Portions are on the smaller side for the price though. It is on the louder side.
Food was good and waiter was very nice. But I have to say the bathroom is horrifying. They should absolutely re-do it because it's a huge turn off. Restaurant is so nicely decorated and then you get to the bathroom and it looks like a jail cell, it definitely ruins the ambiance.
We had early reservations pretty good nothing spectacular. What before a Bruins game. It was still quite empty when we got there. Cool ambiance however our waitress seemed like she couldn't be bothered. Also towards the end of our dinner our waitress and her coworkers kept clearing items asking if we needed anything else, we definitely felt like we are being rushed. And we were there for less than an hour. The food was pretty good nothing spectacular. I'm not sure well go back.
We have been customers of Ward 8 since it opened and have always enjoyed going there pre Celtics games. Unfortunately, the last few times we’ve been there, the food has been awful. My chicken on the salad was dry and tasted like fish. My husbands meal was bad too. With all of the competition from new restaurants around TD Garden, I hope that the kitchen will improve to the delicious meals we once enjoyed there.
We were disappointed upon arrival, as we were sat in the back near a storage area and restroom, while so many other 4 person tables were open.
Service was very slow, and it seemed to be our table being fatter away, others were getting more speedy service.
Service was a little spotty. Limited menu was being served. Went on a recommendation and likely would not go back. Bartender did make a wonderful margarita- that was a highlight.
Wine a bit pricey
Great before a garden event
Food was pretty good, but cocktails were spectacular. Bar was very busy and fun! Loved the vibe. Conveniently located near TD. Great cocktail date night!
Food was good, cocktails were better. The noise level was off the charts and it was impossible to have a conversation or hear the waitress.
Very crowded before a Garden event but food and service were very good. Great selection of gluten free items including fries cooked in a dedicated fryer.
Salmon Cevechi was amazing. Oysters were on point as well.
Always like Ward 8. Esp with so many Italian options in the North End, this is my favorite gastro pub. Great food and meals.
I love Ward 8, have been there a number of times over the years, and it is one of a few go-tos when I am entertaining someone from out of town. Everything on the menu is great. I just had the Miso Salmon and the duck wing appetizer for the first time. Both were insanely good. The restaurant is loud so if that’s not your thing then don’t go. I’d say it is a “fun” loud and it isn’t so loud that you can’t hear who you’re eating with. My only minor complaint is that it was freezing outside and I was seated next to a drafty window that couldn’t be shut any further, requiring me to eat with my coat on.
Good spot. Busy before games at the Garden. Bar scene hopping. Food is typically good, yet fell short most recently. Fun, Good, Not Inexpensive.
Very happy with our meal at Ward 8. We were seated promptly and got great, friendly service throughout our dinner. My husband had the chicken roulade and I had a burger. Both were very good. There is an extensive beer menu. It's a tad loud but doesn't rise to a disturbing level. We'll definitely be back!
Went for Bruins Pregame. Good selection of beers . Burger was very good. I’d definitely go back.
While the service was great, the food was absolutely terrible. My Mac and cheese was runny and over cooked, while my guest had the burger, which was average and the fries were stale. They ultimately brought us new fries, but even those weren’t all that great. Very disappointing especially for the price.
The food and service is always amazing!
Bartender, Nick provided excellent service. Chicken was dry and over cooked. Nice atmosphere.
Great spot for pre-game. Nice food, good wine by glass.
