Love the menu! It’s about the only restaurant near the TD Garden with serves interesting food and drinks that are worthy for foodies. I the only drawback is it’s a bit loud.
Waiting 10 minutes and no one even acknowledged us standing there. Only theee tables being used so they were not busy. Finally left. Bartenders just continued to talk to each other and no one else ever apppeared to seat us
Great place to eat that will take reservations before a game. Food was not your typical bar food and was incredible. I highly recommend the pork buns and the gnocchi. The service was exceptionally well. The staff was very attentive. We will definitely be going back.
Great location for a drink and food before any td garden event. Service was slow for foid but the drinks were faster. Enough variety on the menu to suit our group.
Great menu and drinks with a fun, chic atmosphere !
Best cocktails in Boston.
Food was great, service was good
I was there on a Saturday night, before a Bruins game, and it was a very good experience. The food was great, and there wasn't a wait because of open table. I will definitely go back.
It was extremely loud, I could barely understand what was being said on the other end of our table and there were only five of us. Food was good, though prices are a bit steep and the selection of entrees for lunch is small.
Great place and was very accommodating !
It was our first time trying this place tonight before a concert - enjoyable experience! We did make a reservation as any time there is an event at the garden or a bruins/Celtics game, you can’t get near this place. We were running a few minutes behind so i called to let the hostess know.. she was super accommodating and held our table a few extra minutes for us to get there. Our waitress was also great - drinks (Fabulous vodka & passion fruit purée on the menu) kept coming and our water glasses were always full. We enjoyed the queso dip appetizer and I got the burger entree which was juicy and seasoned well. If you can get in, this is a great pit stop for a meal and/or some drinks before heading to the garden which is literally a stone throw away. We will be back!
Selected Ward 8 to grab a bite before an event at the TD Garden. It's excellent they take reservations before events, had a nice vibe. Nice menu & good service. Had some interesting specialty drinks, which we enjoyed. Loved the chicken sandwich - very different & good, definitely not your average chicken sandwich!
We were pleased to get a reservation for pre- Celtics dining.
The food was delicious and creative.
Noise level a little too energetic but it is a hot spot on a Saturday night.
We look forward to coming back.
Food was quite good and their draught beer list is great (Nightshift's Whirlpool). It was very noisy though and hard to hear my dinner partner. Service was reasonable, but a little slow because of the crowds before a Celtics game. Definitely the best food option for pre-game food by the TD Garden.
Service was excellent, food was delicious. Our only complaint was that it’s a pretty small place so the noise level was really high. Other than that we loved it and would go back.
A favorite of mine! Great quality food with excellent cocktails
Food and cocktails were amazing. But it is a little bit overpriced, and the hostess was super rude =/
Start with the reason we chose it: Super easy access to public transportation - Green Line, Orand Line and North Station. But, whoa, what a great find! The cocktails were superb, the kale/cabbage/Brussels sprouts salad with steak and seared tuna Caesar were delicious down to the last drop of dressing. Servers were charming. In our 60s, we were twice the age of the other patrons, but no one made us feel out of place. Vibrant urban setting. Noisy in a fun way! First visit was for a quick cocktail to kill time before our train. This dinner date was our second time at Ward 8 before a show at City Winery. Yes, we will come again!
Fun atmosphere - big bar area with good looking drinks. Every seat taken at the bar by 1:00 on Saturday. Vibrant scene
Service and food are good. Especially tasty Caesar salad with grilled chicken. Only complaint is that prices are a bit high compared to other similar establishments.
Great get together with friends! Bar tenders were friendly, waitress was great, food was great! :) Definitely would go back.
Brunch is delightful , my only gripe is that a all the eggs Benedict we ordered were over cooked . Nothing dramatic
We were in Boston for the night and tried Ward 8 for breakfast on a Saturday. We were sat right away and the service was without issue. My coffee arrived with a hair on it, which was promptly replaced with another coffee and an apology. Not a great way to start the meal. We ordered the hash and the eggs Benedict. The hash was by far the better of the two dishes. Flavorful! The eggs Benedict disappointed. It lacked flavor in the small amount of sauce they gave me. It was supposed to have dill in it which I didn’t taste. The potato’s were hard and not as soft as I like on the inside. Overall, a fair meal. We may go back, but probably for just a drink. The bar looks like fun!
I had booked reservations to Ward 8 based on their menu. We were heading into Boston to see the Bruins and wanted a meal that could appeal to the group we were with; Ward 8 seemed to fit everyone's appetite. We were greeted nicely by the hostess and seated immediately. However, on review of the menu, we found out they were only serving brunch. It would have been helpful if the website advertised this information, as we were not aware it was brunch only and you could not access the lunch menu. Additionally, the waiter could have smiled a bit more.
Our food was great and the ambiance was nice, however our waiter was remarkably unfriendly throughout the entire meal, which made for an uncomfortable experience overall.
Great dining experience all around!
I really like the food and service at Ward 8. Unfortunately, for dinner before a Celtics game, it was so noisy, so loud, and somewhat earsplitting. My husband and I had difficulty enjoying the experience. We might go again, but not on a game night...
We told the waitress we were splitting two dishes and hey cut everything in half and gave us extra platters.
Most accommodating service. Great food and drinks too!
Love the food... great place for a group ... alway love to bring friends there.
I always enjoy a trip to Ward 8. Great for Sunday brunch or just grabbing cocktails. The bartenders are always having fun and you can tell they love what they do. The cocktail and food menus always have something for everyone.
There were 4 of us having dinner prior to heading to City Winery for a concert. We had lots of wine and the people dining enjoyed the chicken sandwich, Mac and cheese, flatbread and the bacon cheese fries. Everyone loved their food and the atmosphere was quaint but casual. Will definitely recommend this place and also return myself.
We had a very early 5:30pm reservation on a Saturday night, and we actually got there 20 minutes early. They sat us right away, however the waitress was really rushing and pushing us to order really fast. Soon after we ordered our drinks, she wanted to take our order for food. We told her we would just like to enjoy your drinks first, before we ordered appetizers and entrées. She came back five minutes later saying we can’t do that. So we placed our order for the appetizers. A few minutes later she comes by and wants to take our entrée order. We tell her we are not ready, and that we want to enjoy our experience. By the way the whole place was empty. They were just only people sitting at the bar, every table was empty. She came back another time a couple minutes later, and we just gave up and gave her our order. There was literally no reason to rush us so much when the place was truly empty. This kind of ruined our special meet up experience with my friends. The drinks and food were really good, however this experience with the waitress really put us in a sour mood.
Awesome restaurant - great food, great service, & great ambiance.
Went for Valentines Day, a few specials - creative options, good food & presentation. A little "loud", but nice overall - we'll be back!
The location is stellar, just around the corner from the Garden. The bar area is large and tends to get very loud, so loud in fact, that if you're seated at a table when the bar area fills up, you won't be able to have a conversation with your dining companion. The food is really good, I highly recommend the Duck Wing appetizer.
This is good addition to the downtown brunch options and pre-Garden sports meal.
The food is very tasty, good menu and very good service. It is casual, a neighborhood feel that is urban and contemporary, and a good meeting place for friends, family or co-workers.
The food is great but the service is horrendous! Instantly gives the impression of being understaffed, had to wait a while to get greeted and seated, the waitress seemed very rushed, and we had to call her to clean our table. The worst thing though was that the milk provided for me, to go in my coffee, was given to me in a dirty cup. The cup had oil and pepper in it! Honesty disgusting!
The food is good but I won't return, really bad service and they require to teach the staff on things like making sure the dishes are clean before serving and proper customer service.
Great! Can’t complain. Great meal.
Food and drinks were excellent! It was a bit noisy, crowded, and service was slow, but it was understandable as we went just before a Celtics game. It was our third time at Ward 8 and it won’t be the last!
