Made this reservation 2 weeks ago and was not notified then or the day of that this restaurant CLOSED! Had a very important client I was entertaining and had to scramble to find a replacement restaurant at the 11th hour.
This restaurant has gone out of business. For Lease signs were already up!
It was closed! Out of business! Please remove this restaurant from Open Table. Sorry to see them go.
The decor is a must see! The service is EXCELLENT! The scallops are to die for + the Cucumber Splash is my favorite cocktail in Louisville!!
The best part about Louisville is the worst part about Louisville: There are so many amazing places to eat that it's hard to visit all the places you want to enjoy. I found this place after doing a "Best Bourbon Restaurants In Louisville" and it showed up as the #2 pick. I can completely understand why, it's amazing. Great foodie joint, reasonable prices, beautiful bourbon selection, amazing meal and outstanding cocktails.
I ordered the pork chop and it was made to perfection. I also enjoy bourbon, cocktails and wine. We sat at the bar and got top notch service from Christine. But we were also able to meet the restaurant owner and he was genuinely appreciative that we were there, he thanked us for coming in and asked questions to find out what the restaurant was doing well to ensure continued patronage.
This place is remarkable affordable, in a great location to bar hop if you're staying in the area or wanted to Uber from your downtown hotel. This place will become a must do staple for our dinner plans every time we vacation in Louisville. This is absolutely a place to try if you've never enjoyed a dinner here.
Awful The food was very bland and the hot bland was stuck to the plate and burnt
My wife and I love coming back. The special this week was so good that we are making plans in a few days to eat here again.
The decor and original bar with built in coolers and wood details is like stepping back in time.
Absolutely loved this place! The gnocchi was so amazing and the scallops were to die for! We will be back!!!
Overall we enjoyed our meal. The southern pate, arugula salad and French onion soup were all exceptional. The pork chop and gnocchi was not great. We had really high expectations for both these dishes and they fell short. The pork chop was overcooked and the gnocchi was mushy. Neither of these were bad, just not to the standard we expected. Overall, it was a good and we’ll likely come back.
No wonder you are at the end of the quality row of restaurants in the Highlands.
First time here...we liked the food, service & atmosphere.
A must try. It was absolutely delicious! We ordered multiple courses and everything was wonderful--both for me (a vegetarian) and my husband (definitely not a vegetarian). We already want to go back and try the other items on the menu.

We had a wonderful anniversary dinner. The wait staff was attentive and friendly but not intrusive. The atmosphere is very nice. We had a quiet setting because other diners chose to go outside. The food was excellent and we were given a champagne toast to celebrate.

The restaurant was active for a Monday night. The $10 hamburger and beer deal drew in many diners. We ordered off the menu, but I can attest that the burgers looked lovely with their side of fries in the Euro silver cup and the beers were generous in size. My spouse and I both ordered the special of the day, stripped bass. Perfectly cooked. I had the soup of the day, potato, leek and mushroom soup (chicken broth based). A lovely soup! For dessert I chose one of their in house ice creams; mint chocolate chip. Our guest had the cardamom ice cream. Interesting, as my ice cream had a distinct cardamom flavor. Interesting, but not what I expected with mint chocolate chip.
We were seating in a very dark room away from the main dining room. Service was not up to par. It took 10 minutes just to get menus. We ordered a bottle of wine & instead of leaving it at the table, he took it away & would come back to refill every so often. Fish on special was not good. Nothing good enough that I would want to return.
Had a lovely girls night out on the patio. The service was outstanding!
We've been to Ward 426 3 times in 3 weeks! We love the feel of the place. Parking is easy, on the street or in the back. Inside we found plenty of space, music at right volume, wide plank floors, built in (historic?) wooden bar area with stained glass, brass, etc. Tile floors in one room, unobtrusive ceiling fans, lounge in front window, decks out back -- something for everyone. We went with another couple the first time, went as a couple on our own to the bar for the 2nd visit, and for a family birthday with 5 in the party this week. We lingered.
The bar has an amazing selection of bourbon, gin, etc and they have FEVER TREE tonic -- fabulous G&T with Farmer's gin and Fever Tree.
Corn bread (moist, flavorful) and yeast rolls come with the meal. Say yes to both. We like the charcuterie board but I think it could have one more cheese or at least bigger portions of the cheese given, and more pickles. It's beautifully presented with great little surprises/flourishes.
We've had several salads, all good. The brussle sprouts are good, not as crispy as I expected. The others loved them. The pizza looked like the best dish on our table, enough for 2, hot, flush with pepperoni and cheese, thin crust. The hot brown was just OK, but it's not one of my favorite dishes anyway. 2 people got the duck and raved over it. The gnocchi was a hit as well.
I have several dietary restrictions (sigh) and requested some substitutions which were accepted with ease. I would like it if there were one or two more entres that were simple, not so heavy - grilled seafood for example, or something more creative with steak/filet.
My favorite part -- the house made ice cream, especially the Olive Oil/Pistachio cake and cardamon ice cream. No words for how good.
If Ward 426 were on Frankfort Ave, you wouldn't be able to get in the door. We enjoyed the lack of competing for a table, relished the quiet but we want this wonderful place to succeed. So tell your friends!
I was very excited to try Ward 426. Unfortunately it was clear that they were understaffed for the event and very rushed and lacking ability to pay attention to our table.
The proteins were all cooked well but the sides left something to be desired and were not presented as the menu was read, I felt with any explanation of the dishes format the waiter my expectations would have been different.
A bit of an odd place. Hostess was as friendly as a morgue attendant. Place was pretty empty. Brussel sprouts were amazing. But we couldn’t wait to leave.
Charcuterie tray was a big hit at our table!

service was terrible. It was really loud you couldn't hear anyone talk. food was lousy. They served stale rolls that were terrible. Wouldn't go back.
The food was absolutely delicious and our service was incredible. The staff paid great attention to us but didn’t linger at the table too long. We took our mother out for Mother’s Day and she had a wonderful experience.
We had a lovely dinner. I enjoyed the pork chop which had an incredible sauce. Perfect Old Fashions at the bar!
Very disappointing. This is our favorite restaurant in Louisville and we brought out of town guests. Food was flavorless
Our waiter was very rude and demeaning. Didn’t catch his name but he was a hispanic man i believe. wasn’t very nice or friendly. was very snarky and impolite didn’t feel like he was a waiter at all.
Every plate ordered from appetizer, to salad, entree and dessert could have been featured on the cover of a magazine! Not only was the presentation of each course timely and accurate but the flavors of each had to be shared around the table! This restauant should be on everyone's top five in Louisville and southern Indiana. This restaurant will be standing room only when word gets out. If you want a meal to remember, a place to impress a date, or close an important deal this IS the place to go.
Great place... Food? Medicare... Especially for the price. Pork Au Poivre had zero Poivre :-(. They were nice enough not to charge me for it. Shrimp and grits was very small portion

Always blows me away! A very special meal for my husbands birthday. Highly recommend the vegetarian tasting. It is truly amazing.
Went on a Sunday evening and ordered the 5 course dinner. The dinner is really neat because the chef decides what you will get so it is all a surprise. With that being said, you can specify if there is something specific that you really don't like or if you have allergies, restrictions, etc. Everything tasted amazing and the presentation was wonderful. Our server was great as well. I would definitely recommend!
Always enjoyable - one of our favorite restaurants in Louisville. Cannot gonwrong with the tasting menu and wine pairing.
I am a google reviewer and this is the first time I was greeted with such cold impressive staff at a restaurant. The first server was cold and very distant. The food lacked flavor but we decided to eat it anyway because we were there to celebrate my daughter's birthday. We will never go back there again. We spent over $400 for food that did not warrant that price and with horrible service to begin with. We ended with a very nice server which made the evening salvageable.
I had one of the finest meals I’ve had in some time at 426. The fried oysters with slaw wrapped in watermelon radish were divine, sumptuous! I had the pork chop, perfectly cooked MR. My wife had the Norwegian cod, melted in your mouth. Caesar salad, perfect. The service was impeccable, the entire experience was .... well I’m going back.
