Great place... Food? Medicare... Especially for the price. Pork Au Poivre had zero Poivre :-(. They were nice enough not to charge me for it. Shrimp and grits was very small portion
Excellent food, great decor. I like the ample spacing between tables. Highly recommend.
Excellent service and great food. Good drink selection.
Chelsea our server was awesome! Very knowledgeable and accommodating. We are bringing a group back for derby night dinner and look forward to another great experience!
Always blows me away! A very special meal for my husbands birthday. Highly recommend the vegetarian tasting. It is truly amazing.
Went on a Sunday evening and ordered the 5 course dinner. The dinner is really neat because the chef decides what you will get so it is all a surprise. With that being said, you can specify if there is something specific that you really don't like or if you have allergies, restrictions, etc. Everything tasted amazing and the presentation was wonderful. Our server was great as well. I would definitely recommend!
Always enjoyable - one of our favorite restaurants in Louisville. Cannot gonwrong with the tasting menu and wine pairing.
I had one of the finest meals I’ve had in some time at 426. The fried oysters with slaw wrapped in watermelon radish were divine, sumptuous! I had the pork chop, perfectly cooked MR. My wife had the Norwegian cod, melted in your mouth. Caesar salad, perfect. The service was impeccable, the entire experience was .... well I’m going back.
I am a google reviewer and this is the first time I was greeted with such cold impressive staff at a restaurant. The first server was cold and very distant. The food lacked flavor but we decided to eat it anyway because we were there to celebrate my daughter's birthday. We will never go back there again. We spent over $400 for food that did not warrant that price and with horrible service to begin with. We ended with a very nice server which made the evening salvageable.
Love the wine list, new menu and fresh fish selection.
Enjoyed every second of our cocktails + meal. The decor in the lounge area is so stylish.
Server was friendly. Food excellent
My wife and I stumbled into this place several months ago and we we can’t stay away. The menu is original with vegetarian options; I’m talking to you Gnocchi. The chef prepares daily specials; hello “Rabbit Poutine!” The fillet is always tender and the scallops are deletions but some night you just gotta have the burger. If you sit at the bar tell Christine hello, she makes the best dirty martini. In Louisville. Cheers!
Always a favorite and never disappoints. We’ve enjoyed multiple dates here as well as small parties.
Had the 7 course progressive meal. It was awesome! This is done at the Chef's discretion and it did not disappoint. As we were waiting with anticipation for our next course to see what we would get, we were trying to guess what would be next. Also seeing the other diners food go by looked amazing. Planning our next trip for burgers or fish sandwich! Make sure you leave room for dessert, it was AMAZING. Gabrielle was our server and she was excellent. My only complaint would be it was extremely loud, but when you get people having a good time the noise level does increase. Definite return visit!
It was our valentine/ anniversary dinner , we had a great time never felt rushed or ignored great balance, awesome server
My wife and I made reservations at Ward 426 for Valentine’s Day. Unfortunately, the experience was awful at every stage. When we arrived, we were entirely ignored. We were not greeted. Nobody from the restaurant even spoke to us for 30 minutes (unfortunately, I am not exaggerating). Our reservations did not matter, as everyone was seated in order of when they arrived. Once we were finally seated (about 30 minutes after our reservation time), the service left a lot to be desired. We waited for our drinks for at least 10 minutes, all the while staring at them just sitting on the bar top. Had the food been wonderful, it would have redeemed our experience, and I would not be writing this poor review. However, everything but our appetizers was horrible. Our filets were grossly under-seasoned and just plain bland. There was never an apology or acknowledgement for our long waits and poor service. We were extremely disappointed, especially considering the over $200 price tag. We will never be back to this restaurant, and I would encourage those considering this restaurant to look elsewhere.
We showed up at 7pm for a 7:30 reservation. Understandably our table wasn’t ready and we were told that we could set at the bar until our table was ready. After 1 hour at the bar it was 30 minutes past our reservation and we noticed people being seated that had just walked in. There was only one bartender and she couldn’t keep up with the demand. I finally spoke up and asked if we could be seated. Once seated we waited a very long time for each course. Drinks that we ordered were never brought, also small things like servers telling us that they would be back with butter for our bread; never returned. When making reservations you expect that the restaurant would not overbook so they would treat the diners as you would expect when spending $250 on a meal and drinks. They clearly overbooked and every staff member was extremely rushed the whole evening.
Great meal love this was a great venue love this place!
Cuisine was on point. Service was the worst I've had in Louisville.
Went on Valentine's day they must have inserted more tables as we were really close on both sides of our table to others that felt like we were together.. flat iron appitzer was ice cold, very expensive for the select menu of choices. Not a good choice for us.
Went with wife for Valentines. All 3 courses were great. Service was great. Owners present and friendly. Will return soon. Want to try lunch.
We visited on a very busy night and service was timely and our waiter was friendly. The food was amazing. Everything was prepared perfectly and the flavors came through. An overall great experience.
The homemade soup was very tasty and the lobster tacos were great!
Everything I tasted was wonderful!! Will be returning 👏🏼
Really good chef’s choice 5 course tasting meal. Food was terrific with nicely sized meal portions. Courses included: pork belly on arugula, Bibb salad, grouper on mashed potatoes, beef filet over potatoes and a killer key lime pie. All were yummy. Friendly service and lovely decor. Wine pairing was good too. We’ll be back.
Fantastic food, service and ambiance! Have to go back soon!!
Great food excellent service!
Decent meal, average service, nothing horrible about our experience but nothing to bring us back.
We love everything about Ward 426. Just wish it was closer to home!
Food quality could be improved. One of my vegetarian guests ordered the Truffled Ricotta Canelloni. It had no truffle flavor and no broccolini. We brought this to the attention of the waiter and they seemed perplexed about what to do. Ward 426 is our "go-to" dining when we have guests, this wasn't a great experience.
Very good food. The server was very attentive and even communicated preferences to the chef who made a dish special for a guest who did not eat meat etc. above and beyond. it was an amazing dish. The group enjoyed the pork chops and even the burger. Compliments all around.
I had read so many great things about Ward426. I found it to be rather average.
Just tried this restaurant with friends. We all love the food scene in Louisville and go out on a regular basis, unfortunately Ward 426 was disappointing. The space is beautiful and quiet, but the service was really snobbish and off-putting, which made for an unpleasant dining experience. The food is good, but not outstanding for the value.
Drinks terribly expensive. Even charged $2.00 for two olives. They were nit with my drink. Cosmopolitan $13.50. Ridiculous!
Boulibase was pretty good but too thick.
Amazing Cesar salad, best croutons in town and you can always count on the chef to top it off with the freshest protein in the kitchen. Great place to meet up with colleagues who are downtown and east end.
Easy parking and fabulous service, no worries about getting done with in your lunch hour.
Outstanding service, fabulous wine list, great cocktails, superbly prepared food with fresh ingredients. An unknown gem in the city of Louisville❣️
Very enjoyable early New Years Eve dinner. Will definitely recommend and plan to return.
