Wang's in the Desert
found throughout Asia and the Pacific.
Our restaurant is warm and inviting! You can dine in our dining room looking at our flowing stream; cuddle in our private Red Room, chill on our outdoor patio, or relax in our spacious lounge. The choice is yours…
Whether dining or relaxing, Wang’s represents California living at its very best.
Wow. Thai food was made by someone who never tasted Thai cuisine. The soup was made with beef broth vice coconut milk. Just got worse from there - pad Thai and Panang curry were boring and bland.
This place is not PF Chang’s in the desert.
This place was the most amazing Chinese food restaurant we have ever eaten at. The food, ambience and atmosphere was excellent. Difficult to say if it was potentially noisy as it was midweek and only a few people there but who cares. Nicky was our server. He was so intensive and alert to his tables. He gave recommendations but we had already seen the menu on line so we had already knew what we were going to be eating. Nice size portions as well.
When we arrived for our reservation at 9:25, we were asked to leave since they “closed early”. Then they proceeded to show us an empty restaurant. When asked why they accepted an open table reservation, he said “open table doesn’t know there hours”. Was basically kicked out.
The service was terrible even though we were the only ones in the whole place. The food was okay, but not worth the price. The cocktails were not good. Overall, not a good experience.
Service was great. Food exceptional. We were NEVER rushed. Seated in a comfortable and Private area.
Dishes all quite sweet.
We always love it here.
Poor excuse for Chinese food.
I felt bad for the servers who were very attentive and professional who have to serve such bland tasting Asian food.
Food and service are excellent. While the entertainment was good the amplification is a bit much. Makes it difficult to come here to catch up with friends and enjoy a good meal.
This was a special occasion where one of our local entertainers was launching her CD. The noise level was as to be expected with a large crowd. Food was good as usual and service also good.
Large crowd on a Friday.
DJ cranks up the music.
If you want a discussion at your table, do not go on Friday's happy hour
The lemon chicken was very dry. The mongolian beef was tough and tasteless. There were numerous flies at our table probable because they leave there front door wide open. The water glasses are way to small and we were constantly running out of water. The service was marginal.
Felt welcome once I arrived with my guest. Guy Seated us in a very comfortable place.
The Server NICKIE was SUPER. Excellent service, friendly and attentive to our needs.
Thank you. Definitely will be back more 🤙🤙🤙🤙
Delicious meal as always. Service was excellent. I HIGHLY recommend the crispy perch and the chicken lettuce wraps.
Dodd was only satisfactory
We have eaten there in the past and it was really good however this time we are very disappointed. The eggrolls tasted like the grease needed changing. And we were just disappointed in all the food we ate. Service was better than it’s ever been but there were very few people in there on a Sunday night at 6:30. Entertainment was good.
Though the food was ok, the service was terrible. Our waiter was not friendly and did not check in on us. The food took about 45 min to arrive. When approached with the situation, the manager was oblivious and didn't care nor check in on us. We have frequented this place several times. It used to be a go-to favorite of ours. This time & the past 2 times the service has decreased tremendously and has been very disappointing. 3 strikes, they're out! Don’t come here! It’s awful!
We went on a busy Memorial Day weekend and the place was packed! To their credit, the hostess was gracious and understanding when we requested a different table than the one initially offered. The Garlic Chicken and Gingered Beef were both delicious. The ambiance was festive but a table of cackling - too - loud bridesmaids took things a bit far. On the whole, though a great evening.
Overall the food was very food. Our server was amazing and gave us legit recommendations. We'll probably be back next time we're in palm springs.
Reading the reviews, I was excited to try Wangs. I ordered the dim sum platter appetizer which was delicious but priced at $15 for 6 pieces. I did not find the dish worth the money. Hoping to be excited by my dinner option, I ordered the Walnut Shrimp. The walnuts were clearly overcooked as they were very bitter. The shrimp was decent but not very flavorful. Mixed with rice, it was quite bland. At $24/26 dollars, I did not find this dish satisfying so I ordered the Ginger beef. That being an even greater disappointment, I hardly touched it. The waiter must have sensed my dissatisfaction and refunded the dish, apologizing for it. He was very attentive and didn’t have to do that, so instead of the $24 towards the beef, our waiter received that in tip. Two out of the three dishes where very poor quality and overpriced. Maybe I ordered wrong or had too high of expectations but I will not be returning to Wangs any time soon.
Worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. Food was inedible. Had to return one dish to kitchen. There has to better Chinese food in Palm Springs. Don’t waste your time or money dining at this restaurant.
We’ve been to Wangs many times previously and enjoyed the experience. It’s not that we had a bad time but I would classify it as mediocre. First our party of four ordered cocktails. The Lemon Drops were ok but I had a Cosmopolitan which usually get me in the mood but the drink served was a very poor substitute and seemed very weak and tasteless? The chicken pot stickers (2 orders) were very good as well as the beef chow fun. The lemon shrimp while an ample amount were overly breaded and soggy.
Food prices at Wangs are on the high side for Chinese food but the quality this time didn’t seem to stand up to previous standards. The dining room was sparsely populated at 7pm.
Our waiter was especially friendly and cordial and made up for an overall bland experience.
tHE FOOD WAS FABU;OUS AS WAS OUR SERVER MARIO. WE WILL DEFINITLY BE BACK!
Really nice place. Definitely not a family atmosphere. There were male dancers inside the restaurant giving lap dances to other males and while the gay scene does not bother us. Having lap dances (makes or females) in front of our children is not our idea of a family night.
The food was fantastic though.
Wangs was able to accommodate our same day reservation for 11 people. We had seating Outside per request and just in time for the very entertaining show. We had a great time and the service was fast and servers were friendly and courteous. The menu has a lot of options and everyone liked their food. So delicious. Prices were reasonable. Overall I loved the ambiance and friendly staff. I can’t wait to go back when in town.
Food was a 4.....service and attention was a ZERO !
Great Asian food in Coachella Valley. Palm Springs destination, especially on Friday nights for "Boys night out" before dinner. Great anytime for any occassion. Try it, you'll agree.
Always a winner! Great place to bring out of town guests. Never disappoints.
Great place especially on Friday nights! Great food and ambiance.
tHE FOOD WAS AMAZING AND OUR SERVER NIKKI WAS WONDERFUL ! WE WILL DEFINITLY BE BACK!
Food is always excellently prepared. We can’t wait to eat there every time we visit Pam Springs. The beef in the broccoli beef melts in your mouth. Lots of fresh veges.
Nice atmosphere and good service, but the food is overpriced by 25% above the going rate for good Chinese food.
We were on time but was told our table was given away. We were seated where it’s open/front and center. Not much privacy but it was ok. Place not busy.
Service was excellent. Guest ordered something not on the Menu .
Chef came out to ask how it was. We had Fun.
Inspire of our table being given away, it was ok
Restaurant should pay attention to Customers request. Maybe this place needs to Review their Customer Service Standards.
I live in Palm Springs and at least once a month we are dining at this restaurant. Little pricey but the portions are huge and we usually sharing different dishes. Their Velvet Shrimp and Chicken, their Cashew chicken is outstanding.
Great evening with friends saying farewell for the season. Started in the bar and on to a lovely dinner in the dining room! (We asked for outdoor seating but it was agreed we would prefer to be indoors)
I may have ordered the wrong meal, but the fried noodles with shrimp was bland. The scotch and water was served with a lemon twist. Really? We were one of only 4 tables being served between 6-7pm. Also only a few in the bar. This was our second time being there. Last was in 2016. I think the restaurant has gone downhill. Will not be back.
The service was exceptional! The waiter was super friendly, and helpful and full of great suggestions! Wish I could remember his name! He was great!
Friendly, personable and fun.
Sat out on the patio, didn’t realize that there was a performer. She was good, but a little noisy. Food just so so, nothing special. The sweet and sour pork was not very good. Too sweet and the sickening red sauce is just not right. The orange beef and chicken really had no orange in it. Used the same red sauce, would not order it. The chefs should take a trip to PF Chang’s and order their orange beef. ,
