Walnut Creek Yacht Club is a restaurant and bar as well as a seafood market in Walnut Creek, California. The casual, nautical-inspired dcor mimics the upscale luxury and comfort of a yacht. The menu at Walnut Creek Yacht Club features local seafood from the Bay Area only that has never been frozen.
Start your meal at Walnut Creek Yacht Club with a visit to the raw bar to sample six different types of oysters and clams. The lunch and dinner menu changes seasonally, but always includes beef, chicken and pork options if you arent in the mood for seafood. Kids can choose from the junior menu and the whole family will love the huge dessert menu that features pie, butter tars, sundaes and more.
Had the grilled halibut. It must have been caught that morning, it melted in my mouth
Great place to dine where you can always expect good food and good service. Always great specials on the menu.
Only con: the unwelcoming hostess no smile and didn't even looked at us.
Good for seafood .
We were delighted with our lunch: food, service, hour, day of week.
wed at 11:45. Busy but not crazy busy. Want to eat their again soon.
The food and service were outstanding. Best meal I've had in Walnut Creek in some time. Can't wait to return.
They have some of the freshest seafood around! The wild caught Salmon is melt-in-your-mouth and no one prepares it better than WCYC!
We really like this place. Very comfortable with a varied menu and a vibrant scene. Our favorite pre-theater restaurant.
Zarzuela (Spanish seafood stew) was excellent! Several fresh fish choices, raw bar...and diverse wine list. Fun environment...always lively and attentive service.
The friendly hostess greeted us with a smile the minute we walked in. She immediately seated us and our wait person welcomed us and presented warm Acme levain bread and butter shortly thereafter. Ordering, as always, was a delicious dilemma given that we love just about everything on the WCY menu. We decided on the $20 pre fixe lunch. The fresh beet and arugula salad was delicious and peffectly dressed, and the fish and chips were perfect, lightly battered and not at all greasy. Service was unobtrusive but friendly and efficient throughout our lunch. We each had a glass of wine, and our tab was under $50. It was a great value for excellent food, wine and service!
Great wait staff, amazing cocktails, delicious food. My favorite restaurant in Walnut Creek.
Portions of food was plenty. Seafood Pasta dishes were tasty and different. We enjoyed our Server's recommendations of a variety oysters for us to try. Service was excellent.
They were out of crab. Not sure how a fish house located in the Bay Area that has been in business for a long time runs out of crab.
My son came back from college in the desert. He wanted seafood, so this is the first place I thought of.
Excellent drinks, excellent food, great service, relaxed atmosphere - what more could you want?
Great food & service
This salad was wonderful (unless you don't like beets), the mussels done two ways were fabulous , and the fries scrumptious. Plus our server Jessica was great! We sat outside which lowered the noise level. It was a true bargain for $25 (you can even have seconds) and a fun experience.
I find the Yacht Club great for when I am in the mood for a good fish dinner. Oysters were quite good. Selection is very good and the service was also very good. I also appreciate bringing in wine (from a collection) which has been welcomed and accommodated at this location.
My only issue with this restaurant is that the tables (for 2) are a bit small and crowded together. Other than that, a very pleasant experience.
We love the Walnut Creek Yacht Club! Terrific food and service. You can order seafood standards or try some more creative options...both are excellent!
Outstanding service and food. It is so rare that places that have great service have also perfectly prepared food but the Walnut Creek Yacht Club has both.
Both me and my wife and our kids enjoyed the time and food and had a nice evening.
The Blue Point oyster were great and the Spanish stew was fabulous. Hope they keep having the Blue Point oyster on the menu.
Another wonderful meal at the Yacht Club. Seth provided excellent service, The food (as always) was top notch! The Bluenosed Bass was perfectly done, and the fried calamari and Caesar salad (my wife's choices) were classic! Can't wait for our next visit.
WC Yacht Club is a neighborhood gem. Food is always good. Noise level can be way too high, depending on whether one is seated in main dining room, or in the back dining area. We dined at the restaurant recently for a friend's birthday, and while the food was fine, the service was surprisingly poor. Our waiter was marginal at best and just did not provide the level of attentiveness and professionalism that one can enjoy at just about any other restaurant in Walnut Creek.
$27 for lobster roll was pricey, skimpy compared to Billy's Chowder House in Los Gatos. friend said his trout BLT was great. service was slow when the restaurant became crowded.
My favorite drink is the Zentini. Every time I dine here I get the halibut sautéed in garlic, butter & lemon with sautéed spinach. Great food, great service.
Comfortable for our large family to sit around round table. Attentive service; typical seafood offerings that are well prepared and tasty.
This was a great place for a Saturday lunch where we wanted a nicer than your average lunch. The food was great. Walk around and check out what's hanging on the walls, interesting. This is not a issue if you know this ahead of time but don't plan on this being a place to have a private conversation. The tables are close and you can hear all sorts of topics even when trying not to. But don't let that deter you, just know going in. I would definitely come back for the food quality and atomosphere.
A great place with a great menu and fantastic staff
The service was so ambivalent as to be almost non-existent. Items were offered halfheartedly with no inquiry as to preferences regarding everything. If one ignores the service, it was good.
Another visit to the Yacht Club = another great seafood meal. Had the king salmon (blackened), which was cooked perfectly. Other had fried prawns and also scallop[s. Also excellent. Don't miss the clam chowder! I've had a lot of clam chowder, and this is at the top. Say hi to Seth, Anthony or Carrie!!
I have eaten at this restaurant a number of times and on every one of those occasions I enjoyed the dining experience. I ordered the swordfish this time and I was quite disappointed by the taste of the fish. My guest enjoyed her meal as I enjoyed the rest of my meal namely the appetizer and dessert. I believe this to be a one off experience and I expect to return to the WCYC.
Great oysters!. Oysters are still the best in town.
Everything from the food to the service was great. Price for lunch special was special.
When we arrived on time, no hostess in the front and we waited for about 4 minutes and no one approached us, even though some waiters and busboys saw us standing in the front, I had to grabbed one waiter told them we have a reservation, the hostess finally came, and one ridiculous thing was she recommended to us to another location of the restaurant, and there was no air-conditioning and still at 90 degree at that time, we rejected to sit there and came back to the main-dining, first of all we thought our reservation was arranged outside, but there were still a plenty open tables in the main dining room.
The oysters, mussels, fish and clam chowder were so good, but the beef and the Spanish seafood stew with rice were terrible, my wife and friends asked for medium rare, but came out almost well done, sent it back and came again, improved but the beef was still too tough, too many tendons on it, and no one asked if it is OK or would like alternative for instead.
We came based on the views on yelp, but first time experience was so disappointed.
Dinner was fantastic. Everything was great. All the staff were outstanding. I had the Tuna Pasta special and it far exceeded my expectations. The special included and very nice salad, entree and dessert. My wife had shrimp cocktail and a wedge salad. We enjoyed our dinner.
Impeccably fresh fish well prepared and served. Great value in lunch specials.
Food is delicious. Fantastic seafood! Still my favorite restaurant in Walnut Creek.
The first time we dined here we thought it would be a little fancier, but upon our arrival determined that it is definitely more on the causal side. With the bar at the front of the restaurant, it was definitely a lively atmosphere.
They have a great selection of fresh fish which they claim is 48 hours or less from being caught. We've had good experiences dining here and will definitely come back when we are looking for a light (seafood) meal.
On busy nights they get pretty full so be sure to make reservations!
We've been trying to find a reliable fresh seafood restaurant in the Tri-Valley area for years that serves a wide array of seafood and preparation styles and was pointed here through online reviews. We were not disappointed!
The menu is varied - everything from a raw bar to deliciously prepared fresh fish. While somewhat pricey, this is by far the best seafood restaurant experience we've had in the Tri-Valley area in decades.
I visit this restaurant for their oysters. They were better during my visit last week vs this week.
This is definitely a go to place and we continue to return regularly.
