Walker's Grille Ratings and Reviews
I decided to go to Walker's Grille based on the reviews. I'm very disappointed with my experience here. First, I had a reservation but upon arrival was told we had to wait 20-25 minutes to be seated. After we were seated, we were told that they only offer the prix-fixe menu for Father's Day. At no point when I made the reservation or called to confirm the reservation was I told about the limited menu. After we placed our order, we waited for a little over 30 minutes just to get a salad. Now on to the food, it was the WORSE food I have EVER had in a restaurant. No one in our group enjoyed their food. The best part of my meal was the bacon (can't really mess that up). We let our server (Nicole) know that none of us liked our food but she did a great job at serving us. I would not go to this restaurant again nor would I recommend it.
I had a very enjoyable experience at Walkers Grille for my wife's graduation lunch. Everyone was so nice and accommodating to my party ensuring the overall meal was pleasant. Walkers Grille is a diamond in the rough that many may not know of at this time but will find out soon enough. The food was delicious!
Fantastic restaurant located right between Springfield and Alexandria, Virginia. We met with friends for our quarterly get-together to reminisce and enjoy some fine wines.
We sat in the bar area, and Nicole took care of us, and she did great. We started with soup and salad, then went along to our dinners.
It was a Saturday night, and I'm surprised the restaurant wasn't busier than it was. My scallops were fresh and enhanced by the flavors of sweet potato and curry. My husband ordered the duck gnocci, which wasn't "gamey" at all. Our friends ordered the pork. We were stuffed by the end of our meal, so we didn't get to enjoy any dessert.
We've been to Walker's numerous times and will definitely return!
Excellent food and service. Only complaint was my guest had seen crab cake sandwich on the menu on the web site, but in the restaurant there was a crab cake topping a salad, only. Our waiter asked the kitchen if a sandwich could be fashioned, and the answer was "no". Guest ultimately got the crab cake, but on the salad - poor execution in the kitchen.
We had a great time our server Jaxx was great as was the bartender Nicole. They did outstanding answering our questions. It was busy but we never felt forgotten. The food was outstanding and whole staff was friendly. The manger was telling us they do wine dinners def coming for that next time. She was very friendly and stop to talk to us.
I met a friend for lunch there ,we sat outside under the ceiling fans which I love. With all the landscaping you don't even know you're in a parking lot. We both had salads,I had salmon and my friend had shrimp .... both done to perfection done to perfection. Every time I go the service is wonderful and I'm never disappointed With my meal.
Took my wife there for Mothers Day Brunch. The value was $40/person and no real option for vegetarian who wanted to have eggs. I understand the idea of prepping early but there should be a way to modify and keep the integrity of the food menu. As for the menu, the ideas were well presented but I think a little more could've been added for variety. 1 soup containing meat/fish ingredient - 1 menu item as entree without modification - it could've been a tad better.
Have had good experiences here for dinner in the past. But the prix fixe mother's day meal was very underwhelming for the price. They also forgot to bring our first course and we had a really long wait for the final course. Will probably not come back for special occasions.
Nestled neatly among busy office buildings, a few blocks from Franconia Metro Station, and down the street from Springfield Mall, this gem of a restaurant lives quietly off the beaten path. The service staff is attentive, efficient, and pleasant. The owners are gracious and anxious to greet their guests. And, the ambience is just perfect for either an intimate occasion or family dining. The food is well prepared and tasty. Take a trip away from the usual bustle and relax on the outside patio.
I ordered the chicken and waffles. The waffle was tough, cakey, and tasteless and served luke warm. The chicken was pieces of breast meat, which was not bad. I could not eat the waffle and the meal was removed from the check without even asking. That was pretty good customer service and Nicole, our waitress was very nice, however she did not check back with us once our food was served to see if we were OK. My friend's shrimp and grits were excellent he said. I would go back and try something different since they did remove the chicken & waffles from the check.
We love Walker's Grille and the food is outstanding! Try to leave room for dessert. The night we were there, many of the tables were reserved for a wedding party and the group next to us was extremely loud. Because of the booking, we were not able to move to a quieter table. Fortunately, they left after about half our meal and it was very pleasant after that. We have experienced before that the acoustics are not great and it tends to be quite noisy. Still very worthwhile and would highly recommend. If you go on a nice night, you can sit outside which is very pleasant.
The server made a very inappropriate comment to me, when I ordered a second mimosa: "off the diet, are you?" And something else about the particular dish I ordered. Seriously?! Plus, it was a warm day and it was way too hot in the restaurant to enjoy the meal. We had always chosen this place for nice meals out, but not anymore.
They recently changed their menu, and while we've always enjoyed this restaurant, the food is now some of the best we've had in this region. They have a new chef and the food is amazing. Also a wonderful location to bring dogs on their outdoor heated veranda. Very friendly service as well. Highly recommended!
Wow!!! First time but definitely not the last (just made another reservation). Fava bean Risotto is out of this world! Apple fritter dessert is worth the calories (work out ahead of your meal). What a gem and so close. My friend had fish stuffed with Maryland crab and my small piece melted in your mouth. Service from Phil was outstanding. Can't wait to return.
Good food with really nice presentation. My wife had the rock fish which was really nice and my mom had the lamb shank which was also cooked well. There could have been more veggies and less beans with the lamb. I got the ribeye which was the special and it tasted like it had been frozen. Never a good idea to get steak specials. It was seasoned well and I liked the sides but not a great steak. The waiter was great, brought bread and the kids food out right away. They also have coloring pages and crayons. Great for the kids.
We arrived at the tail end of a snow storm. There weren't many people out or working due to that. We were greeted by Nicole. She was both our waitress and our bartender. She was very welcoming. The ambiance was mellow and relaxing. Nicole took very good care of us. We had no idea that they were closing early. They never made us feel rushed in any way. I can't wait to return when it's warmer to enjoy their excellent outdoor seating area. And Nicole makes a VERY nice cucumber martini. And my husband said that was one of the best Long Island Iced Teas he's had. Thanks so much for adding to our twenty year anniversary in such a positive way.
