We visited Walker's Grill for dinner on a Saturday. We made reservations for 7:30 and were seated promptly when we got there. However, service was not as expected. It took a long time to get water and a drink--out appetizers were out almost at the same time! The entrees were very, very good. I had the horseradish encrusted cod and the fish was prepared perfectly. Accompanied by lobster mash and grilled asparagus I was a happy camper. My date had the shrimp and grits. It was a different presentation and while he was expecting southern style I think he enjoyed it all the same. The drink special was a cherry blossom martini which I quite enjoyed. I will try them again but if service isn't better it will be the last time.
If you want great food at a reasonable price and you are not busy, this is the place for you. Service was well paced but somewhat slow. Server gladly did separate checks for our group and 3 out of 5 were incorrect the first time. Server was willing to redo the tickets with no problem and had an apology for each of us.
This is a perfect restaurant for brunch, lunch, dinner, reunion or dinner group. While it is a bit secluded in a business park from normal restaurant locations it ranks in my top five for the surrounding area. Great American cuisine with a few international dishes offered seasonally. Walkers gives you the feel of a 1st class restaurant with a casual relaxed style. We started with drinks and apps at the bar with a smooth transition to the dining area. We finished up with coffees and 3 orders of apple cinnamon beignets/ice cream. The food and staff are outstanding and Chef Duane Keller welcomed our party. Owners Sam/Jason are truly dedicated professionals. Turned out to be the perfect reunion for Army, Field Artillery friends of 25 years.
it is a lovely spot, creative menu but with some traditional items. food was good and very enjoyable experience.
Incredible dinner at Walker's Grille during their 3rd Anniversary! My guests ordered the special Anniversary menu with Prosciutto appetizer, Salmon with Bok Choy entree and chocolate pate' and Lemon Ricotta Cake for dessert. I had the Sweet Potato Gnocchi and spinach. Yummo! Their meals looked delightful and we all loved the food. Excellent service - Thanks Manoj.
I took advantage of the 3d anniversary luncheon specials and was not disappointed. I had the mixed greens with grilled salmon and my friend had the Bison burger. Both meals were delicious! Keep up the good work & Happy 3d Anniversary!!!
Fantastic lunch w/BLT Sandwich, gathered greens w/salmon. Delish! Sat at the bar. Michelle is a awesome bartender!
Although WG is less than 5 minutes from my home I stopped my weekly visits two years ago. The food quality is unpredicable. Our entrees were brought out as we were less than halfway through our appetizers. The entrees were returned to the kitchen and returned 15 minutes later. Clearly kept warm and not freshly prepared. This was their three year anniversay. I will not return for the four! Too much turnaround in the kitchen, bar and waitstaff. Such a shame. So much potential and so little follow through.
Went for a Sunday Brunch and it was amazing. I would recommend it as a Number 1, 5 star. Four of us has separate brunch items and all were fantastic. I have been for dinner and just about as good. A favorite eating spot!!
Husband and I had brunch with friends and as always, everything -- food, service, drinks - was awesome! Walker's Grille is our favorite restaurant!
This was my first time in this place but I am 100% sure that it will not be the last one. Service and food are amazing! Love it! Thank you to all the staff!
Food was good. We ahd fun. Looking forward to warmer weather to sit outside.
5-Star Restaurant. 5-star Chef. 5-Star Service. 5-Star Menu.
Delicious lunch at Walker's Grille today. Haddock Reuben and Aunt Marianne's Carrot Cake.....this cake is unlike ANY other Carrot Cake you've ever had...EVER. Delicate, smooth texture and perfectly whipped cream cheese icing. Mmm Mmm!
Top it off with Michelle's Rosemary Iced Tea and you have a perfect lunch. Can't wait until Spring when the patio opens.
... very loud especially at happy hour time. Wife and I went for our anniversary but had to shout at each other in order to communicate. Dining room proximity to the bar is an issue if you want to go for a quiet dinner.
This is a really nice spot for a good neighborhood restaurant. Unfortunately all they have going for them is the facility. Food was mediocre but the martini was nice as was the wine from a very limited wine list. :)
What was most troublesome was the drama taking place among the servers and the kitchen. Also, drama between the hostess at the front and her male "friend". What's up with that?
Anyway let's hope for better days ahead - but we won't be back anytime soon.
This restaurant was decent. My only complaint was how closeness of the seating.
A little salt and pepper could go a long way to take the food from ok to great. The Calamari was tender, not chewy, but under seasoned & greasy. The Thai chili sauce was flavorful, but tasted like it was from a bottle. The pesto sauce had no flavor at all. The veal chop was perfectly cooked, but under seasoned. The turf, turf, turf. Again all three meats were lacking salt and pepper. The lamb had one note - rosemary. The chicken was very tender but lacked flavor. And the steak, although also cooked perfectly, lacked seasoning as well. The potato hash that came with the meals was greasy and not seasoned. We ordered a side of broccolini. Holy garlic! That is all we tasted, needed salt and pepper to brighten the flavors and add depth.
New to the area I saw a few reviews and decided to make a reservation for my wife and myself. We were pleasantly surprised. The staff was great, the setting was astounding, and the food was amazing. Perfectly portioned and delicately coordinated. We had the airline chicken, which was perfect. I highly recommend this restaurant.
My husband and I dined here Valentine's Day and we were so pleased with the food and the service we plan to return. I think we've found a neighborhood gem.
Loved Walker's Grill and will be back again for sure! DC food and service in the suburbs. We really enjoyed our meal and the service (Kara) was top notch!
Once again we had a great meal and a great time. Thank You!
Had a wonderful Valentine's Day dinner and they even provided ladies with a red rose!!!!
Excellent restuarant; friendly, professional staff, excellent service, and quality, well prepared food.
I introduced 2 friends to Walker's Grille last night.
Our group had the Crab, Bay Scallop and Shrimp gratin (creamy goodness!), Herb Crusted Cod (light and flavorful), Turf and Turf (prepared perfectly), Sweet Potato Gnocchi (delicious with sage and brown sugar), and lick-the-plate Lemon Ricotta Cake. Yummo!
Manoj, our Server, was professional, attentive, and he suggested dishes.
Walker's Grille has a special Valentine's week menu this entire week. Check out HH (Happy Hour), too!
My friends loved the food and service, and they will return. Of course, I will too!
Nice wine and food specials for happy hour. Only went for apps so can't comment on dinner.
We were a party of 9 people and everyone loved this restaurant. Everything from appetizers, entrees, dessert was nicely done and tasteful. The chef did a good job with everyone's dishes. They deserve the 4 star rating here. We all had a terrific family celebration with good eats. Our waitress was just outstanding with the right amount of attention without being overbearing.
We really enjoyed the food and service.
Close to home with a great menu and delicious food. Attractive presentations (turf, turf, turf) with healthy portion sizes. I would come back simply for the Gathered Greens Salad. Tasty gumbo too!
We were all disappointed & wished we had gone somewhere else. Four staff to take care of 6 tables which would seem like a good ratio..but we seldom saw our waitress, in fact, she only came 3 times. Once to take our drink orders, once to bring the drink and take our orders, and once to bring the food. Then...we never saw her again--really. I had to ask another waitress to get our bill. No one asked how the food was...maybe they knew. My chicken crepes were mixed, one was good the other filled with gristle; the Courvoisier sauce was gravy-like. The "Crispy French Toast" was crispy because there were so many corn flakes on it they literally fell off in piles next to the bread. The eggs on the eggs benedict: one almost uncooked, the other over.
Took my girlfriend for a birthday lunch. My husband and I had discovered Walker's Grille due to DC Restaurant week and enjoyed it so introduced it to my friend. We had a lovely time and the food/service was wonderful.
I selected Walker's Grill as the restaurant was near the hotel where out of town business colleagues were staying. I live in Great Falls, VA and used open table reviews to find a place in Alexandria close to the hotel.
I was pretty disappointed overall- and this is very unusual for a highly rated open table restaurant. The server had no tact whatsoever and would immediately interrupt the conversation as soon as he got to the table. The sign of excellent wait staff is knowing when and how to interrupt diner's conversations.
The food quality was mediocre at best. The lobster flatbread was overcooked and dry. The fish special of the day was okay. Fish was good, everything else on the plate was overcooked. Not really much positive to say.
My dining partner and I go to Walker's Grille on occasion and we really like the new menu. I had the sweet potato gnocchi and my dining partner had the salmon. Both were fresh, well prepared and delicious. In addition the beat salad and gathered greens, both of which I believe were carried over from the previous menu, but slightly altered, were excellent as well. Don't let the slightly unusual location in an office building be a deterrent for going here.
My husband & I had a fantastic dinner of roasted butternut squash & poached pear salad with Stilton, and fish & chips, Chef Keller's Aunt Marianne's carrot cake and warm apple beignets. Minerva and Lauren, our Servers, were attentive and helpful.

I frequent this place and am never let down! They are always revising the menu items so it's never boring. The staff is friendly and willing to accommodate. Great alone or with a group.
Had steak frite. Steak was not as tender as usual, it was tough. Salad and soup was very good.
Always pleased....Comfortable, great menu selection, unexpected food presentation, outstanding service and delicious.
Great food, awesome staff!! I took a friend for his first ever restaurant week experience and we were not disappointed! I initially thought it was too far off the beaten path, but now think that this added to the charm. It was very busy and we had to wait at the bar for a short time, but the bartender was very good and the hostess came over a couple of times to give us updates. We didn't mind the wait at all! There was a mixture of larger and smaller groups. My guest is new to the US and said he liked the friendly feel of the restaurant and can't wait to take his wife to enjoy the food. Great selection of options on the restaurant week menu and the food was expertly prepared and DELICIOUS! And did I mention the friendly staff?
We came to Walker's for the first time and it was packed! I guess everyone else wanted to try out their delicious menu for restaurant week as well. I had the Scallop appetizer and it was perfectly cooked! Some of the other favorites at our table were the Lobster Strudel and the Lamb Shank - delicious. The service was great and they were very busy. We will definitely be back to try out their regular menu and brunch. We would love to come when it's nice outside, they have a huge patio. Can't wait.
Pleasantly surprised! Great food, great service, ample parking! The restaurant is quite small, so obnoxious groups can be annoying. Overall, very good.
We visited Walker's during DC restaurant week, with which they participate. The limited menu included both filet mignon and lobster strudel (a burrito-like pastry), which were delicious, and the scallop appetizer with grits was outstanding. service was excellent. Definitely on the "go there again" list, and everyone in a group should be able to find a good choice.
