Overlooking the confluence of Spray and Bow Rivers, The Waldhaus. our "House in the Forest" is a retreat for those seeking solace from Banff's bustle. What began as the Clubhouse for the renowned Stanley Thompson Golf Course has transformed into a sanctuary of Mountain gastronomy. In the dining room above, rich timber and a majestic hearth narrate the epic tales of bygone explorations. Meanwhile, the Bierhalle below is where history and merriment collide, offering a spirited space for companionship, games, and the shared joy of storied adventures.

Please note:
- The Waldhaus is designated as a historical building and such has stairs to access all areas.
- The Bierhalle and Billardhalle only take limited reservations, otherwise operating on a first-come, first-served basis
- Regrettably the Waldhaus does not take reservations for its patio due to the unpredictability of mountain weather however, we will do our best to accommodate patio requests on a per case basis.

The hotel's parking is located beside the Convention Center. It is a three-level roofed parkade with 415 parking spaces. Self-Parking Per hour = $15 per hour Self-parking per day = $50 Valet = $49 per day
Public transit
Roam Transit provided by the town of Banff runs approximately every 40 minutes to and from Town to the Fairmont Banff Springs. Enter through the Hotel's main doors proceeding down the hall past the Fairmont Spa and out the doors to your right. Continue down the pathway to the stairs on your left which will take you down to the Waldhaus.Bus Fare is $2.00 per person.

Suprised they changed the menu. Plastic sheet that looks more like Denny’s than a I high end restaurant. Kind of odd. Everything else was wonderful.

Went there with my girlfriend for a nice dinner in banff. Was blown away by the service and food. Some of the best food I've had. I feel the fondue experience was just a little expensive, I still loved it and enjoyed everything about it! Would definitely reccomend

We ordered the cheese fondue and the chocolate fondue for dessert. Both sauces were delicious. Cheese was hot & velvety in texture. The chocolate fondue had a very indulgent chocolatey taste.

All the dishes ordered were a major disappointment! The schnitzel was tough, the spaetzle was cold and the replacement was moderately warm. The chicken dish for the price was very small and tasteless though presentation was lovely. I would definitely not recommend this restaurant!!!!!!

Once they finally decided we were there and who our server was to be all was better. We had a 5pm reservation and all was fine for our anniversary reservation and seating but the server taking care of the other 4 tables in our area totally ignored us for 30 minutes until I asked her is she was our server and she said she was not sure and would go find out. At this point someone else came to see us and said there was a mix up. Nothing else was done and I guess for our $200 dinner we just had to accept there terrible service mix up. Not at all acceptable. Too bad that this is what Fairmont has now become and no one took any responsibility. I guess we know what we now need to do on our future visits. So we unfortunate as we have really had some enjoyable times over the years at the Waldhaus Restaurant
