We had a great experience. Food and service were good. Nice atmosphere.
Beautiful view, excellent friendly service, delicious food
Nice view and good seafood. Well prepared and served.
Enjoyed the evening throughout all the courses. Sean was an awesome server and he ended our ending with a Happy Birthday dessert for my husband. The ambience was perfect for my husband because he enjoys casual dining.
It was great to have a spectacular view of the fireworks. The music was fabulous.
There was some confusion about my “special request” for seating and it seemed it would be impossible to rectify given the restaurant was full. However, they managed to make us very happy. Special kudos to our waiter Todd who was a very good sport.
The food was amazing, creative, and visually pleasing. The service was excellent and the ambiance with the live music added much to the experience.
Excellent atmosphere with great food and good value. Very good happy hour with wonderful live music
Very poor service, ok food. It wasnt busy on valentine's day when we went so it seemed that the poor service was not warranted given how slow it was. You can review my yelp review for more detailed information.
Really enjoyed this place, definitely a nice place for live music and the firework show. The service was very chill we didn’t feel rushed or anxious the server we had was so kind and gave great suggestions. Will definitely return!
Surprised it was in a Trump hotel. Had we known that, we would have picked another restaurant. But, the view was great and food excellent. Expensive, but very tasty.
Great food, loved the happy hour!
We were surprised at the reasonable prices and good quality of the food.
Excellent location. Open air setting. Great seafood. Very professional staff.
We took some customers for a relaxed meal and everyone enjoyed it very much. The food was excellent and the ambience very relaxing. Our waitress was lovely but on occasions the service was a little slow, but it didn’t spoil the evening.
We thought we would try the Trump Hotel’s restaurant after we were informed about the 4 hour free valet parking. Turns out happy hour prices and food were AMAZING! Best hot wings I’ve ever had and the shrimp salad w/house made dressing was tasty and huge (for only $10)! We were only in Hawaii for a week but we came back 2 more times because the service was OFF THE CHARTS! Upon arrival, the first time with my sister in law who is blind, the valets helped her as if she was their relative seeing to it she was gently placed from the car to her wheelchair. At the restaurant, the hostess was equally as accommodating, moving chairs so her wheelchair could make it to the table they had for us...all with no prompting from us...they just went into action without a word. This was just one of many examples. Our second time there, we brought a larger group and I ordered the crab legs after asking if they were cut in such a way to make it easy to de-shell. The waiter explained they were not cut horizontally length-wise but that it should not be too bad to de-shell. I still wanted them so I ordered BUT when they came, ALL THE CRAB was de-shelled by the chef at the waiters request for me! My husband and I were astounded! NEVER had we had a restaurant do this!! They under promise and over deliver!!! What a treat! Hope the waiter enjoyed his large tip and we will always seek out Trump Hotels because THEY KNOW HOSPITALITY LIKE NO OTHER! You can tell instantly that excellence must be rewarded by whoever is in charge! Everyone is kind, competent, attentive, and sees what needs to be done AND DOES IT! Trump and his family are geniuses! 4 hour free valet?? (Unheard of in Waikiki!) But they must know that we will tip the valets more (valets happy) and more business at the restaurants (more business, more revenue and more tips for employees)! PURE GENIUS!!! Loved our experience! Was one of the highlights of our trip!!
Just ok. Not much else to say
Not happy to find out that the whole name of the restaurant is Wai’Olu at Trump International Hotel.
The ceviche was so small and seemed like watered down salsa
Great atmosphere and the food we ordered were delicious. Our children also enjoyed their meals. We are looking to returning on our next family dine out. Service was very professional, fast, and very attentive.
Really impressed with the view. Best in Honolulu. The 50-50 salad as part of the holiday special meal was a surprixe. The chef took a small beet and cut it in half, then cut the half in half then served the two pieces with bits of lettuce. Tasted great but better to call it a taste rather than a salad. The fish was excellent.
Amazing! Simply Amazing!
Wonderful in every way!!
We had a party of seven. We were seated on time. Shortly after there was a live musician to help entertain us that we fully enjoyed. there was a wonderful choice of appetizers and adult beverages, the main course choices was good but really wanted a filet mignon, the only steak choice was New York strip. Dessert menu was nice but the cheesecake portion was lacking.
Annual get together
We all enjoyed our food, service and ambience. The openness of the restaurant is nice and it is a comfortable place. We also liked the many choices on the menu and that you could customize on the portion sizes on the steak and omakase. We all felt that the pricing was good and quality of food was also good. I think our waitress name was Brittany and she was excellent. Friendly, poised and attentive!!
The outdoor seating has great views! A perfect place for sunset cocktails and dinners.
Service was great, restaurant was nice, food was good, but for cost, I expected a little better
Our party was there for the Hawaii Restaurant Week menu. Abalone appetizer, tomato salad, Tiger prawn w/uni cream sauce delicious . The macadamia dessert was sold out but we were able to choose any dessert from their menu and all the desserts selected (tiramisu, chocolate candy bar, and macadamia gelato) were great !
We went to several restaurants during Restaurant Week 2019. Wai'Olu was my least favorite. The service was outstanding and the view was beautiful; however, there were pantry moths buzzing around the table during the entire dinner. Not only was it annoying, but we all know that if there are panty moths, then there are likely pantry moth eggs in the dry food goods. Also, the food was not impressive at all, in fact I believe that the whipped potatoes were instant as they were gritty and the vegetables were from Costco. Everyone in my party had a 12 ounce steak which we felt were small and although we ordered our steaks cooked from medium-well to medium-rare, they were all tough.
This desert was better than the rest of the meal put together.
I hope they were having an off night, but I could not in good conscience recommend this restaurant. Go to Chef Chai's you will not be disappointed! Chef Chai's was my favorite of Restaurant Week 2019!!
Terrific service and food. Outstanding view.
Very nice skyline view of the city, especially if you show up a half hour before sunset. Nice bar and a very quiet open air setting that can be a bit breezy. Service was fine and very friendly.
Our charcuterie board was very good and plenty large for two and provided a nice snack the following day. The steam whole moi was also good, but this was not the case with the NY strip.
The steak was cooked to the specified level, but half of it was fat and the rest had gristle throughout. I normally would have sent the steak back, but I did not want my date to eat alone while another steak was prepared. I was shocked that such a subpar piece of meat was cooked and served. Cheap diners offer better steaks. Very disappointed at what should have been a nice dining experience.
Excellent service and food. Area was very clean and the ambiance was great. The family enjoyed the entire experience. Everyone including our valet were professional and fast. Definitely recommend!
Went there during Restaurant Week and the prefix menu was very good! Wish we had gone earlier to catch the sunset.
