The food was way over priced for the quality. I had gone there for the lobster pot pie which they didn't have. I was told the closest thing would be the gnocchi and a lobster tail. The gnocchi was like eating at a soup kitchen! Don't waste your money!
Food quality not in keeping with price
We went there for a special occasion, willing to splurge a bit for a memorable meal. We were not at all disappointed. It's a beautiful restaurant with a beautiful view and the food was wonderful. The service was perfect (our server, Amy, was extremely friendly and knowledgeable). We really couldn't have asked for a better evening out. The Grove Park is pure class, and Vue 1913 is perhaps the classiest.
We let them know it was our anniversary, and they still seated us at a 4 top in the middle of the restaurant while romantic 2 top by the mountain view we're empty.
My chicken dish was the smallest portion I have received at any restaurant, ever, in the world. I overheard another table complaining about the portion as we were walking out, so it wasn't just us. Don't waste your money. Go to Edison's or Sunset Terrace.
Our night was perfect. We enjoyed our cocktails, dinner and the firework display! Kudos to the staff!
Went with hubby and kids. Staff was exceptional and food was delicious.
It was nice. View was pretty. Service was good. Food was good, but would like more for the price.
Mark and Ralph were wonderful and knowledgeable...our octopus appetizer was overcooked slightly and over seasoned..my Kobe filet was served cold with an overwhelming amount of garlic butter... that being said.. the service was impeccable; the situation rectified. All this chef needs is a little creative fire...
Food was good. Service could have been better. Waiter didn’t offer us anything from the bar. He wasn’t very attentive.
This is the best place to celebrate any occasion!
Great food, wonderful views and nice dining atmosphere. Very friendly staff.
Food was outstanding, but what made our evening particularly enjoyable was our server Ben. He was really amazing!
For a special occasion, Vue 1913 is wonderful-delicious food (my husband particularly likes the lobster pot pie), excellent service, and a lovely view.
Great Food. Great Service. Terrific Ambiance! Lighting was just right.
Being from Europe I've been to really good restaurants and used to good food. I've been looking for a good restaurant in America and found some good places but this one is on the top of my list. It was outstanding,! It was the best food I had in a long time. The service was great and the restaurant has a beautiful view. It's very relaxing and quiet, you can have a normal conversation. I really recommended this restaurant.
Wonderful atmosphere. The food is excellent and the service is impeccable. We enjoyed the evening for our 54th anniversary.
The black bears cavorting on the green while we dined was the added bonus.
Very special treat! Love everything about this Resturant! Very good value for money spent.
Enjoyed the quiet ambiance overlooking the beautiful Asheville mountains. Remembered it was a birthday date and
Our waiter was prompt, informative and friendly.
A great dining experience all around. The view is spectacular. The food is incredible. The wait staff was great.
We were here for my husband's birthday on Thursday evening, 5/24. We arrived almost 30 minutes early for our 6:30 PM reservations, but were seated immediately at a nice table with a beautiful view. Our server was Karen. She was excellent - warm and personable without being intrusive. Mike had the Beef Tartare appetizer followed by the Loin of Venison and finished with the Tiramisu. I enjoyed the Kale Salad, followed by Steak Frites - a 7 oz Filet Mignon grilled to a perfect medium rare plus, and I finished with the Banana Mousse. We also shared a delightful bottle of champagne bottled specifically for the Grove Park Inn. Everything was wonderful - a special, memorable birthday celebration.
One of the most overpriced places I have eaten at. Portions are tiny, menu is very limited and the entree-with very limited selections- are priced at $35-$55 range. Two tiny scallops (should be at least 4) in an appetizer for $18, $38 for a tiny piece of duck, $36 for a tiny piece of fish. Only salad on the menu is made with kale for $11. No fancy china, no fancy table clothes, no beautiful flowers on table, nothing to justify paying these prices. No way should they be charging this amount of money. The food was good, but again the portions were just tiny. Very, very overpriced wine list too. Just no cool vibe from this old fashioned place that needs a big redo and a major re-think about the prices. One plus: bread was very good if you can get the attention of server to come around a second time.
Pricey but excellent food, inventive choices and great presentation. Attentive service. Great view from every table. Went with two girlfriends and each of us had something different. I had the steak tartar and bone marrow appetizer, which was well spiced and very tasty. My entre was the lobster pot pie, which came in an actual pot! It was very flavorful. With a pound and a half of lobster, though, I couldn't eat it all -- I took about half the lobster home and my husband scarfed it up immediately, cold, and loved it too. My friends got the gnocchi and a salmon dish which they complimented the chef on when he came by the table to check on us. We all ate every bite. I'll go again.
Excellent food, great ambiance, exceptional server, Ralph. Pricy, but worth it!
Fabulous restaurant with impeccable service. We highly recommend a window table. Perfect!!!
BEN was probably the best server I’ve ever had in my life. He is funny, knowledgeable and easygoing. Kudos to him for making our anniversary dinner perfect!
The steak tarter and bone marrow was very good and the scallops very tasty. The octopus was extremely tender and tasty. Dan made the evening even more enjoyable by being very attentive without being overly attentive. Would highly recommend for a special evening.
Food was delicious! I recommend the beef spare ribs with truffle grits! Yummm!
Kimberly was very attentive and the choices we made for our dinner was fabulous. Highly recommend the oyster appetizer, roasted beet salad and chilean sea bass.
Service was fantastic and atmosphere lovely. The Chefs menu was well thought out and tasty.
Amazing view, service and food. Best food we’ve eaten in a long time. We had the octopus and scallops as appetizer and gnocchi and steak for dinner. Amazing. We had one instance the steak came Med well instead of Med rare. They changed it immediately and upgraded the steak. Just an amazing experience. Kimberly was the sweetest server and Manager was exceptional so attentive to each of his guests. You can see he set the tone for service. Exceptional and worth the price
The Vue was 5 star Service and Food
Valentina was our server and it was a perfect night
My Lobster Pot Pie was great and what a presentation at the table
Thanks to Valentina and all the support Staff that made our evening great .
This was my second time visiting Vue 1913. My now husband and I got engaged there Dec of 2016 (and they remembered us). The service was top notch. The food was delectable. It seemed as if every server and manager who walked by our table checked on us to verify we were good. I had the lobster pot pie. It was packed with flavor. My husband had the 10 oz NY strip steak which was also bursting with flavor. We will definitely return.
Atmosphere was amazing; our waiter, Ben, was fantastic!
Great venue for out of town guests. The view of the mountains cannot be beat. The service was excellent for our party of 8. They seated us in our own section and we felt like we had VIP service. The food was great and the ambience was special.
We took the forging class and brought our items to the restaurant for an appetizer to be prepared. It was wonderful followed by a fantastic meal. Everything was perfect beginning to end.
Wonderful personalized service and absolutely wonderful food and wine. The servers rolled with the punches from our rowdy group, and made us feel welcome and appreciated. Loved it.
