Great ambience for a nice romantic date night overlooking the hills of Asheville.
We celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary here. The food was great. The service was exceptional.
Great view before sunset, good service, good food, a lttle pricey on wines but overall, it was a good dinner.
Food was very good but the menu was limited. Service was attentive but overly friendly and could have been more professional. Have eaten at many high end pricey restaurants, The ambiance/presentation was a bit lacking ...maybe tablecloth would help. The view is perfect.
One of the best meals we have ever eaten! The Kobe spare ribs were awesome and the appetizer scallops were perfect. Worth every nickel - especially considering the view.
Grove Park Inn never disappoints and Vue 1913 has excellent food and service. Pricey, but a great meal for a special occasion. We have been here several times over the past 10 years and the decor and ambiance needs an upgrade. The views are amazing, but obstructed by old window casings and the whole look is tired.
Excellent service and food made for a delightful experience. We will return
We booked an early table and arrived early. We were disappointed to be taken past all the front window seats to a table on the side with a view of the building next door. We had the scallops as an appetizer and they were excellent. My spouse enjoyed the beet salad but they were almost raw and didn't work for me. I ordered the gnocchi, it was short on gnocchi and completely left out the carrots which were listed as the third ingredient. The lobster pot pie was good but the lobster was chewy and needed a knife to cut it. The view is fantastic and the dining room is beautiful. No complaints about the service. The food was not up to the standard the service and the room deserve.
Really fine restaurant in the Grove Park Inn in Asheville, NC. Not cheap but comes through on food, service and ambience. View from the high location of the town of Ashville and surrounding mountains is spectacular. This is one of several quite good restaurants and bars in the Inn, which itself is an amazing place.
Perfect evening. We were celebrating my wife birthday. Our dinner was excellent and the view and service was outstanding
Jon, our FIRST server, was into his production routine, badhing the chef on food dishes, scolding us on how much we should drink, and leading us to the most expensive meals and bottles of wine listed.
Asked for another waiter. Ralph. Excellent.
Showed up 8 minutes prior to reservation and hostess refused to seat us even though restaurant half empty. She did the same to a disabled couple that arrived 5 minutes early. Very rude. Will not visit again.
We had a memorable Anniversary dinner here while staying at GPI. Our server was Kimberley and she was fun and attentive and very entertaining all evening. She also helped us with menu choices that were suitable to our special needs. We enjoyed every moment! The food was delicious and the view of the grounds was awesome.
It was one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. The food was outstanding. The waiter recommended a fantastic wine. Can not wait to return.
Only reason the food wasn’t 5 stars was because the lobster in the pot pie was a bit too chewy and the flavor not as robust as hoped for. Duck leg - excellent. Sever - Kimberly- outstanding!
Gorgeous Mountain View. Very romantic. Service (shout out to Kimberly) was impeccable. Not cheap, but worth the money for a special occasion!
It was great! Service was super friendly and they accommodated our special requests and the food was best in class! Pricey, so not an everyday dining experience but worth it for a treat.
Absolutely loved the steak and short ribs! Creme brûlée was so good we went back the next night just for dessert.
We were initially seated next to the kitchen at a dark table for 4 even though there were only 2 of us and there were plenty of open tables. We asked to be moved and were given a window table for 2 which was perfect. But it seemed many of the nicer tables were left open during the night. Other than the issue with the initial seating, it was an enjoyable evening.
Ordered Duck with wild mushrooms; received duck with hard Brussels. Complained and was told they would be brought but they never arrived. Friend ordered steak @ $60; more like a $20 steak. It was unevenly cut and unevenly cooked.
Food was good overall. Portions are small for the prices though. The bouillabaisse was so-so (but our waitress warned us it was not that good) Service was excellent, wonderful view.
What a great place for an Anniversary Celebration! Wonderful food, great wine, and a fabulous view of the mountains. Superb service as well.
We had a wonderful dinner at Vue 1913. We ate here 11 years ago on our honeymoon. It was a different restaurant at the time. It was still as delicious today. Service was great. Attentive and helpful.
Ralph was our waiter and was great. He made great recommendations and took excellent care of us. I had the fish special and it was wonderful. My husband had the duck confit and added scallops and both were great.
Waitstaff were excellent. Loved the food. Desserts were ok.
View, service and food were excellent. Will definitely go back when in Asheville
The food, view and service were absolute perfection!
AWESOME!!!!! NOTHING BAD TO SAY. Cannot wait for an excuse to go back again. So thoroughly enjoyed our waiter, unfortunately I cannot remember his name. All as I know he has worked there for 9 years. From the excellent food , excellent service and ambiance...it was a perfect evening.
Lovely setting with a beautiful view. Great service. Somewhat limited menu. Not for kids.
Food is way overpriced! of course, its in the Grove Park. Wine even more overpriced! ridiculous. Service was not so good. Waiter was more interested in talking to people than waiting. We had to ask another server for our check. The person who brought my lobster pot pie dumped way too much of the sauce on it. It was swimming in juice. was just ok, not really that good. My husband like the short ribs I think he had.
Great meal in a beautiful setting!
My wife and I sat at the window looking out at the Smokey Mountains watching a storm roll in, the "vue" was AMAZING.
The food was delicious we had the steak tartare with bone marrow, a cheese board & charcuterie, slow roasted beats and steak frites. All were EXCELLENT. They have a good wine list, we had a bottle of Silver Oak, which is our "go to", a little pricey at $250 but typical for a resort...
The service was friendly, attentive and professional. There is NO DOUBT that we will return and can comfortably recommend with the highest confidence Vue 1913 to anyone with good taste and a thick wallet.
This was one of the best restaurant experiences I have had in a long time.
A group of friends and I traveled to the Asheville area for the weekend, and Saturday night was our "splurge" night. The restaurant space was beautiful, the food delicious, and the service friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Kimberly did an amazing job!
As for the food, everything was delicious, but the short ribs and the lobster pot pie were the runaway winners of the evening, and the dessert martinis were a sweet-but-not-heavy way to end a perfect evening.
The food was way over priced for the quality. I had gone there for the lobster pot pie which they didn't have. I was told the closest thing would be the gnocchi and a lobster tail. The gnocchi was like eating at a soup kitchen! Don't waste your money!
Food quality not in keeping with price
We went there for a special occasion, willing to splurge a bit for a memorable meal. We were not at all disappointed. It's a beautiful restaurant with a beautiful view and the food was wonderful. The service was perfect (our server, Amy, was extremely friendly and knowledgeable). We really couldn't have asked for a better evening out. The Grove Park is pure class, and Vue 1913 is perhaps the classiest.
We let them know it was our anniversary, and they still seated us at a 4 top in the middle of the restaurant while romantic 2 top by the mountain view we're empty.
My chicken dish was the smallest portion I have received at any restaurant, ever, in the world. I overheard another table complaining about the portion as we were walking out, so it wasn't just us. Don't waste your money. Go to Edison's or Sunset Terrace.
Our night was perfect. We enjoyed our cocktails, dinner and the firework display! Kudos to the staff!
Went with hubby and kids. Staff was exceptional and food was delicious.
It was nice. View was pretty. Service was good. Food was good, but would like more for the price.
Mark and Ralph were wonderful and knowledgeable...our octopus appetizer was overcooked slightly and over seasoned..my Kobe filet was served cold with an overwhelming amount of garlic butter... that being said.. the service was impeccable; the situation rectified. All this chef needs is a little creative fire...
