Vue 1913 - Omni Grove Park Inn Ratings and Reviews
Amy, our server was superb. Excellent attention to detail, pleasant, professional and courteous. It was a very busy night (New Year’s Eve) and the chef’s plates were well presented and up to temperature. The desserts were meticulous and festive. Drinks were also very well chilled and presented. Overall A+, well done!
My wife and I were traveling through Asheville and staying overnight downtown. We went to the Omni Grove Park Inn for dinner at Veu 1913. We had an exceptional experience with Diann as our server. We had Short Ribs with Chantrelles and the Steak Frites (filet) with Loster Tail and everything was prepared perfectly. The wine was also exceptional. The prices were a bit high, but worth the experience.
Beautiful restaurant in Grove Park Inn. Service was very good. Good wine list - expensive. I thought menu was pretty limited and did not match their menu online. So we were disappointed in a few items not being available. Food was about average but very expensive.
Food is very good but pricey as expected. Good place for special occasions.
Appetizer - Scallops prepared very well with great flavor - $18 for two large scallops
Entrees - chicken with Brussels sprouts and mashed potatoes; short ribs - both had great flavor
Dessert - crepe brûlée- very good
Total cost about $125
We dined at Vue 1913 on Thursday 12/21. The service we received from our server was fantastic! I believe his name was Jerome. I have a severe gluten and lactose intolerance and he confirmed with the chef that everything I ordered was okay.
The food was wonderful as well!
Changed restaurant menu the day before arrival. At 6:15 was told they were out of two entrees. Really!? No filet , so had a mediocre strip steak. After being served, saw filets served to several later arrivals. Really?! Not acceptable at the Grove Park Inn. Everything else during the visit was fine.
Food was mediocre, service was very slow. Our waiter seemed confused and not knowledgeable about wine. Overpriced for what we got and not that tasty. Wait staff brought out the wrong dishes for both appetizers and main course. We expected a lot more, given the reputation of the hotel. Manager did not do anything to make up for a lousy experience. They need to fire the entire staff and start over. No excuse for this incompetence in a four star hotel.
We were staying at GPI to celebrate my wife's 60th birthday, and went to Vue 1913 on that night. We would certainly go back again. The food was excellent, the service was attentive but not overbearing. It seemed to take awhile between courses, but the restaurant wasn't packed, so I wondered why. Allow 2hrs for dinner, and more if you have a bigger group. It was pricey, to me, but for a special celebration well worth it. They recognized her birthday with a mini-dessert on a dinner plate where 'Happy Birthday' was written in chocolate script, with a candle. Nice touch.
We ate at Vue during our anniversary stay at Grove Park Inn. The price was a little high and this was to be expected based on everything else at Grove Park being high. To my surprise the food was actually priced very competitively based on quality. My wife and I were very surprised. I had the special steak of the day and she had the fish of the day. I don’t remember the actual steak or fish name unfortunately but they were top quality. My only real complaint was the price of wine. Not enough choices in the lower priced range. Our $51 bottle was probably a $15 bottle in store. Yes this is normal mark up, but I would have felt a lot better with a $35 option.
Dined there as a special occasion for my Wife's birthday. Vue 1913 is a wonderful restaurant for special occasions. The service was exemplary. The food was perfectly prepared. The NC catch was Stripped Bass and was delicious. I had the Braised Lamb Pasta and I would have licked the plate clean if no one was looking.
This is not an inexpensive restaurant, especially after you pay $25 to park and most drinks are around $15. But for that special occasion it can't be beat.
Dinner service was outstanding. Food was cooked to perfection. Our server was wonderful, making our 20th wedding anniversary dinner, quite memorable! Not exactly inexpensive either but the quality of food, service and ambiance made the experience a wonderful choice!
