Waitress was so nice. Food amazing, and can't miss the view.
Dinner was easily one of the best meals I have eaten and the service was equally as good.
Karen was our server and she was excellent! Food delicious! Celebrating two birthdays
Made a reservation but still had to wait for a table by the windows. Menu is a bit limited but the food quality and presentation was fantastic. Service was excellent.
However, when I made my reservation, the woman told me that (weather permitting) the outdoor views from the Sunset Terrace the Omni are far better. It was a beautiful evening and of course, the other restaurant was completely full. I would recommend to anyone that unless you want high end dining, watch the weather and if it's going to be nice then try to get an outdoor table at the Sunset Terrace.
Eating at Vue was an experience we thoroughly enjoyed. Our server was a pleasure and the filet was superb. Also got a little anniversary treat at the end of our meal which was appreciated.
My husband and I visited the GPI for our anniversary and we celebrated at Vue 1913 on our last night. We had been recommended a few dishes by some that had been the night before, and we were happy to confirm how great they were! As far as appetizers, the deviled eggs with caviar were incredible! Would absolutely recommend. Then for entrees my husband got the Elk tenderloin and I got the Lobster and Grits. It was his first time eating elk and he loved the dish! And the lobster dish did not disappoint! We would both get the same entrees again if we weren’t looking to mix it up. Our waitress, Karen, was wonderful and provided great service! She knew it was our anniversary and brought us a free dessert and glasses of champagne. Was such a nice surprise and touch.
The only reason I didn’t give the ambiance 5 stars was because there was a woman seated at a group table near us and she was coughing for the second half of our dinner. It made us very nervous in the current environment and caused the ending of our meal to be hurried.
The portions were very small and the price very high.
Beautiful anniversary dinner! Delicious dinner!
Incredibly amazing ... this was our first time dining in this restaurant and will definitely be back many times!
Fantastic food and service was even better.
So glad we went.
We had a great experience here for my girlfriends birthday. Service, atmosphere, and food was amazing.
It was phenomenal
Food and Service were excellent. The Flies and Wasp were not.
Overly priced. Small children screaming in restaurant. Food was mediocre for price point.
We are truly sorry our food and atmosphere did not meet your expectations. Our guests' experience is top priority, and we clearly missed the mark for visit. We've shared your review with our Food and Beverage Management with the goal of improving our service. We hope you'll consider dining with us again so we may show you the experience for which we are truly known.
This is the best restaurant at the Grove Park Inn. Like everything else there its pricey, but the food, service and view are exceptional. One really troubling thing at the start of our visit, they tried to put us in the back of the restaurant when there were several two tops right on the view window and even a few tables with views. Why on earth would you have a restaurant called the Vue and not put people where they could enjoy it. We asked for a different table and they must have had to clear it with the Board of Directors of Omni for how long it took to seat us. Ridiculous. But after we got calmed down and seated the experience was exceptional.
We do enjoyed our dinner at Vue 1913. The food was outstanding and the staff went above and beyond to make our experience special.
Everything was outstanding. The food, the service, the ambiance.
Had cheese plate - pretty good, lobster chowder soup of the day - good, filet mignon - good, elk tenderloin - tough and without flavor - way over priced - the filet mignon was $20 less and much better. Pass on the “novelty “ elk.
Family vacation to Grove Park Inn, enjoyed a very fine dining experience.
Great food, Great service, great views for a special occasion
We were celebrating our anniversary and we were seated at a window table with the beautiful view. The wait staff were attentive, professional and pleasant to interact with. Our food was done well, but we wished it were more inventive with the side dishes - they were pretty pedestrian. Overall tho, we enjoyed our dining experience.
Our server Kimberly was the best! She told us all about the property and local history while helping us choose our food.
Ok first of all, the venue is gorgeous -- we had a bit of trouble finding this restaurant as it's all the way to one direction (we thought this was the Sunset Terrace restaurant! :)) but once we got there -- we were welcomed and spoiled! The espresso martini was to die for as was the cheeseboard. We split the ribeye which was cooked to perfection. I'd skip the beet salad, was a bit dry, and the risotto appetizer was decent. However, our waitress was incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and was an excellent guide to the menu. We really enjoyed our dinner here -- we weren't rushed in any way and were able to enjoy each course (including some bonus chocolates compliments of our waitress -- though I think everyone gets them) from before dinner drinks to after dinner cappuccinos. Thank you to everyone at Vue 1913, I'm ready to return!!
I have to agree with many other honest reviewers. The menu is weak sauce for such a nice hotel and creative town. The menu lacks creativity and there was really no flavor to anything. It was a salt/pepper menu with steaks. If you have a palette built for flavor town this is not your place. Asheville Proper is the menu we wished we saw with the view of Vue.
Everything about this place was superb! Highly recommended!
We had an amazing time and could not have had better weather. Our server Cheri was outstanding. Great experience.
Over priced, small menu, typical resort fine dining. Prob least fav restaurant at this property
Anniversary vacation! Food and service was outstanding!
Amy and Steven served us. They were superb. The views were absolutely majestic. The food was incredible. We had drinks at President’s corner afterwards. The experience was amazing for me and my wife.
We had an amazing anniversary dinner! Great wine, food and service, Memories made!
Food and staff excellent. Gave 4 star for ambiance because two tables near us were “face timing” and text notifications dinging constantly. Place too nice for that, ban cell phones or require to turn them off.
The staff is wonderful. I was completely disappointed in the steak. I ordered a $78 ribeye that was flavorless and it was a thin cut which made it tough to cook medium rare it came medium. I should’ve complained but didn’t want to trouble the wonderful waitress. $78 steak should not have those issues such a let down as I’ve never spent that much on a meal before. I’ve had better steaks at chain restaurants for under $20.
Tommy, thank you for bringing this to our attention. We sincerely apologize the meal did not meet your expectations. We're glad to hear your server was wonderful but hate we weren't able to help make your meal better. Please know that your patronage of Vue 1913 is valued, and we would welcome the opportunity to serve you in the future.
Amazing food, ambiance and service. Can't wait to go back.
While they were able to accommodate my need for gluten free options, the rice in the risotto was grossly under cooked, I had asked for a glass of Chardonnay and received Pinot Grigio, the waiter was a bit over bearing and the price of the addition of the very small/thin scallops to our meal was exorbitant. This experience was disappointing as my first visit several months ago was very pleasant.
We appreciate your feedback and take all of your comments very seriously. We are disappointed to hear that we fell short and the food did not meet your expectations. We sincerely apologize for the uncooked grains and incorrect wine you recieved. We have passed your comments onto our Director of Food & Beverage and General Manager. Our guests’ experience is of the utmost importance to us and we hope to have the chance to welcome you back in the future.
A great experience. Our server, Ben, had a great knowledge of the menu, made great recommendations and was an ton of fun. It made the experience amazing. The food was incredible and perfectly prepared. All courses came out well timed and presented superbly. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
This place is a must in Asheville! Highly recommend dining here and try to book during the sun set.
The food was delicious, and the service was impeccable. Would highly recommend.
Overpriced, under-portioned and flavorless. After the appetizer we left and went downtown to a myriad of offerings.
Marty, we are sorry to hear your dining experience fell short during your recent visit. This is not the standard we aim to meet. We will address these issues with our management team about how to improve our offerings. We hope you were able to make the most of your visit and that if you do come to our property to dine again, we will exceed your expectations.
