Not impressed with the price and quality. My pasta dish gnocchi dish was just ok and dripping in butter. Favorite part was the bread and great views. Lamb was supposed to be cooked medium and was extremely rare even though my husband explained that he didn't want it rare or bright pink. Best part was the view.
A date after a 42 year gap and Vue913 was memorable for the food on a very memorable evening overall. Many thanks. Long story on that gap but maybe another time
The food was just OK considering the high prices. The serving staff were friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was pleasant. The drinks were a short pour. Overall disappointing evening considering we dined there a year ago when prices for the meal were a good value. Service a year ago was still very good.
We have gone here in the past but decided that this would be our last visit. Simply put, we have had much better meals for less money—and we are not averse to dining at some pretty pricey places. Compared to other restaurants we've been to, the service and quality simply doesn't match up.
One or two examples might suffice:
* The temperature was all wrong in the lamb dish, necessitating a hasty do-over, which threw off the balance of the entire meal because one spouse was left eating while the other twiddled her thumbs.
* The temperature of the foie gras should have been warmer.
* The temperature of the mashed potatoes with the filet mignon dish was also bad, and the flavor boring.
We were astonished that after the entree had to be sent back that they didn't comp a single thing or offer to comp dessert. Total tab for two was near $500, which was high for a resort of this kind. Again, we have stayed at similar resorts and had better meals under $250. This was not worth twice the money. Won't return.

We live locally and love visiting on a regular basis. The food and service are impeccable! We usually begin our evening in the Presidential Lounge with Brad as our superb mixologist and move to Vue 1913 for fabulous food and wine. Karen has been our server on several occasions and she is always at the top of her game!
Went for 4th of July, ambiance is lovely!
This place is ridiculous for the amount of money they charge for the food. It is not creative, nor well-executed. We couldn't even get a steak cooked to the proper temperature. The food was just very bland and unimaginitive, which is unacceptable for the final bill you'll receive. Do yourself a favor and visit the lodge for a cocktail and the view, then go to downtown Asheville where there are several James Beard-level restaurants all over the city.

My boyfriend and I went there for our anniversary and had a great experience. The service was perfect, the food was amazing and the view of the mountains was even better. I suggest trying the braised short rib, it was to die for!
Much improved since 2018 visit and pleased that we gave Vue 1913 another chance.

One of several restaurants in the historic Grove Park Inn, Vue 1913 offers a continental-style dining experience. It provides wonderful vistas of downtown Asheville and the Blue Ridge. Our server, Ben, gave us detailed explanations of all the menu items and engaged us in witty conversation while offering guidance on what to order. The wine list, while not as extensive as we had expected, gave a variety of choices suitable for any selection of appetizers, salads, and entrees. It's not cheap, but it's well worth the money we spent to enjoy a memorable dining experience.
Absolutely incredible dinner. Food was perfectly prepared and presented. Great wine list. Kim was an excellent waitress! Would highly recommend.
Cheri our server was fantastic! She recommended a vegetarian dish for me that was incredible! Morels in a yummy sauce with potatoes. Delish!
The service was outstanding! The food was equally amazing. It was our 25th wedding anniversary and they spoiled us with complimentary champagne, chocolates and a red rose. Just lovely. And the final amazing moment....the sunset view over the mountains....great evening!!
My wife has significant allergies, and the chef met with us in person to accommodate and modify the menu to meet her needs. Outstanding service!
For a restaurant with extremely expensive food (there is a $95 filet mignon on the menu), I felt that the service and ambiance didn't really live up to the hype. First, we were seated at a table not at the window - that part is okay, but the tables that aren't at windows are really in a black hole. Second, our service was extremely slow. Third, when I ordered an extremely dry and extremely cold martini I received one which was neither. Fourth, they were out of the wine that I ordered, and when we agreed on a replacement and it was opened, the waitress refused to leave the cork on the table, even though I told her that I would be needing it so I could take the bottle with me. Result: a different cork was placed in my bottle. (This seems to be a problem for the Grove Park Inn - the next night at Blue Ridge, when I ordered a bottle with a screw cap, that was apparently thrown away, and the bottle had to be corked - just leave it on the table, please!) The food was very good - but with the service missteps, it just wasn't worth the price. I thought this would be the highlight of our stay, but frankly, dinner at Edison the night before was a better experience.
Thank you for sharing. This is not the guest experience we aim to deliver and apologize for the lack of promptness and poor presentation of the wine corks. The General Manager of Vue 1913 has addressed your concerns with the server in question, and this will not be an issue moving forward. We hope you will give us the opportunity to show you the true standard of hospitality for which we are known sometime in the future.

Ben was an excellent server and made our dining experience really fun.
We went for my wife's birthday and they made it special. The service and food are exceptional; we had the smoked rib, boiled peanut hummus, radish salad and the filet mignon. The bottle of Jordan Cabernet complimented all of the foods. Of course the view is one of the best.

The food, service, and view were great! We had the lamb and sea bass and both were as good as we have ever had. The view of the mountains and Asheville's skyline were spectacular and added to the ambiance.

The view was awesome at The Vue. Our server, Amy, was informative, friendly, and responsive to our requests. The food was delicious. It was a perfect spot to celebrate 15 years of marriage bliss.
My wife and I were celebrating our 32nd wedding anniversary at the Grove Park. We thoroughly enjoyed our first stay at the hotel and the dinner we had at the Vue 1913 was exquisite and delightful. The menu offering met expectations, portions satisfying and the service made the night pleasant. I had the filet with scallops and my wife selected the sea bass. Excellent savory flavors. Our desert selection included the crème brulee and the Vue surprised us with white chocolate truffles and a congratulations note made of dark chocolate. Both were masterfully prepared and left us talking about the next time we would visit. Thank you Vue 1993 for the great experience!

Great menu- Flora and Fauna.. my only complaint about a fine dining restaurant is that young children should not be allowed. The screaming kid ruined the atmosphere ... food was great. Service great. View great.. screaming kid not so much..

This was my wife and I's second visit and we were disappointed. Our first visit was absolutely phenomenal. The ratings I gave for this visit were low because of the value. The food, service, and atmosphere were good, but definitely not worth our check total of a little over $250 for my wife and I. Save your money, and check out Limone's or Curate in downtown Asheville (5 minute drive). The food there is just as good, if not better in some instances than Vue.

We had one extended wait between the first and second course, but otherwise the service was top-notch. The food was great, but pricey.
A perfect 40th Wedding Anniversary! Amy, our server, ensured that we had excellent service and recommended great wines (she allowed us to sample several before purchasing 2 bottles). The presentation of each plate match the flavors. We ordered a plate at a time - 1st appetizer, 2nd appetizer, salad, entrée - with Amy expertly explaining each dish. In spite of ordering one plate at a time, the order came quickly to the table with little wait. The Vue is the place for foodies - and special occasions.
The service and atomosphere were incredible. However the entrees were overpriced for the quality that was delivered. The main chicken dish lacked seasoning and the elk tenderloin was over cooked. The appetizers were delicious as well as dessert.
Overall great experience but we were disappointed with the entrees. We had much better quality of food at the other restaurants in the Grove Park Inn for half the price.

The staff and management there were wonderfully attentive and answered any question we had with pleasure. The food was very nice. I would like to see a desert soufflé on the menu, but that is just personal preference.

The food was poor at best, especially for the price. My vegetarian entree was raw and not supposed to be. My husbands Wagu was terrible, we have had better steaks at home on the grill. The service was just okay. For the cost of the dinner it was sub par, they really need to step up their game here.

Had a great meal at Vue 1913 at the Grove Park Inn. The service, in particular, was exceptional.
The setting is really nice with beautiful views of Mt. Pisgah. Our waitress was outstanding and very knowledgeable and helpful in selecting a wine and making choices for dinner. That said, while the wine was very good, the meal was ok, but not something I would order again. Expensive for an OK meal. Also, while the staff was well attentive, they were also slow. We were early on a Thursday evening and were there over two hours.
