Ben was an excellent server and made our dining experience really fun.
We went for my wife's birthday and they made it special. The service and food are exceptional; we had the smoked rib, boiled peanut hummus, radish salad and the filet mignon. The bottle of Jordan Cabernet complimented all of the foods. Of course the view is one of the best.
Wonderful restaurant! Great friendly knowledgeable staff!
Great, enjoyable meal! The food, service and surroundings were wonderful. We would recommend Vue for any occasion.
The food, service, and view were great! We had the lamb and sea bass and both were as good as we have ever had. The view of the mountains and Asheville's skyline were spectacular and added to the ambiance.
Excellent meal and excellent service. Highly recommend it
The view was awesome at The Vue. Our server, Amy, was informative, friendly, and responsive to our requests. The food was delicious. It was a perfect spot to celebrate 15 years of marriage bliss.
My wife and I were celebrating our 32nd wedding anniversary at the Grove Park. We thoroughly enjoyed our first stay at the hotel and the dinner we had at the Vue 1913 was exquisite and delightful. The menu offering met expectations, portions satisfying and the service made the night pleasant. I had the filet with scallops and my wife selected the sea bass. Excellent savory flavors. Our desert selection included the crème brulee and the Vue surprised us with white chocolate truffles and a congratulations note made of dark chocolate. Both were masterfully prepared and left us talking about the next time we would visit. Thank you Vue 1993 for the great experience!
Excellent service, highly recommend the lamb and an amazing dessert.
Great menu- Flora and Fauna.. my only complaint about a fine dining restaurant is that young children should not be allowed. The screaming kid ruined the atmosphere ... food was great. Service great. View great.. screaming kid not so much..
Kimberly was a wonderful server. She was personable and professional.
This was my wife and I's second visit and we were disappointed. Our first visit was absolutely phenomenal. The ratings I gave for this visit were low because of the value. The food, service, and atmosphere were good, but definitely not worth our check total of a little over $250 for my wife and I. Save your money, and check out Limone's or Curate in downtown Asheville (5 minute drive). The food there is just as good, if not better in some instances than Vue.
Thank you for being a patron of Vue 1913. We have shared your concerns with the F&B management team and hope you will continue to dine with us for the food, service and atmosphere you so dearly treasure.
We had one extended wait between the first and second course, but otherwise the service was top-notch. The food was great, but pricey.
A perfect 40th Wedding Anniversary! Amy, our server, ensured that we had excellent service and recommended great wines (she allowed us to sample several before purchasing 2 bottles). The presentation of each plate match the flavors. We ordered a plate at a time - 1st appetizer, 2nd appetizer, salad, entrée - with Amy expertly explaining each dish. In spite of ordering one plate at a time, the order came quickly to the table with little wait. The Vue is the place for foodies - and special occasions.
The service and atomosphere were incredible. However the entrees were overpriced for the quality that was delivered. The main chicken dish lacked seasoning and the elk tenderloin was over cooked. The appetizers were delicious as well as dessert.
Overall great experience but we were disappointed with the entrees. We had much better quality of food at the other restaurants in the Grove Park Inn for half the price.
Amazing food and amazing service by our waiter! Love the views and ambiance!
The staff and management there were wonderfully attentive and answered any question we had with pleasure. The food was very nice. I would like to see a desert soufflé on the menu, but that is just personal preference.
Food and menu are excellent!! Views are incredible as well. A beautiful place and we enjoy going to the Grove Park Inn...
The food was poor at best, especially for the price. My vegetarian entree was raw and not supposed to be. My husbands Wagu was terrible, we have had better steaks at home on the grill. The service was just okay. For the cost of the dinner it was sub par, they really need to step up their game here.
Thank you for reaching out. We apologize that your meal did not meet expectations and have shared your comments with the Executive Chef and Food & Beverage management team in an effort to improve.
We enjoyed a wonderful dining experience! The food, service, and setting were all exceptional!
Had a great meal at Vue 1913 at the Grove Park Inn. The service, in particular, was exceptional.
The setting is really nice with beautiful views of Mt. Pisgah. Our waitress was outstanding and very knowledgeable and helpful in selecting a wine and making choices for dinner. That said, while the wine was very good, the meal was ok, but not something I would order again. Expensive for an OK meal. Also, while the staff was well attentive, they were also slow. We were early on a Thursday evening and were there over two hours.
In a word, “disappointing!” Had great memories of meals past here but was sadly disappointed with our meal last night. The foie gras was cold and the gnocchi was so dry I could not even eat them. Not sure what happened last night, but they were seriously off their game. Also, service was exceptionally slow and the restaurant was far from full.
Thank you for your continued patronage, and we apologize that your most recent meal with us was not to your liking. Our guest experience of the highest priority, and we have shared your concerns with the Executive Chef as well as the Food & Beverage management team in an effort to improve. We hope you will choose to visit with us once again, when we may better serve you as we have in years past.
Very good and unique menu. Professional service with excellent ambiance. Worth the money. Overall a special dining experience.
One of the best birthday experiences I've had. We will definitely be back for an anniversary. I do hope to stay at the Inn next year.
We had arranged for our 50th anniversary dinner at Vue but were side tracked due to2016 forest fires. We invited friend who were celebrating their 50th. Ambiance, service, and the food was unquestionably the best we have experienced.
Our table overlooked the gold course- wild turkeys were frolicking and bears have been seen in the same area but no luck.
We can not wait to revisit. Cocktails before the historic fireplace was the entree to our wonderful evening.
Recommend for special occasion. Karen our server... so pleasant and accommodating. She is a most efficient server... as were all employees that evening.
The server was knowledgeable and helpful and overall a delight. You can tell she loves her job. The chef was amazing. We have dined in many fine restaurants and this one one of the best dining experiences we have had. The flavor combinations in the dishes was amazing. Best broccoli and creme brûlée I have ever eaten.
View was very nice depending on the table selected. So table offered obstructed view and were not worth the visit. The cost of drinks were outrageous as were the entree selections. The food was average at best.
Thank you for your feedback. Seating placement is offered on a first-come, first-served basis, and we apologize that this impacted your stay. Should you choose to dine with us again, we hope to impress upon you the true value of both the venue and food for which we strive to provide.
Exquisite setting with Blue Ridge peaks in the distance.
Outstanding and attentive service from very friendly and professional wait staff. Five star food presentation with marvelous menu selections. Every course delicious and cooked to perfection. Recommend most highly! Two grand kids treated with respect was a pleasure as well!
The menu is not honest Fried chicken is dry chicken roulades Lamb is three pieces is tough tenderloin for $ 48 We saw three appetizers returned from one table We came to enjoy ourselves and in spite of incredibly bad food we overcame
Thank you for reaching out. We apologize that the menu selection was not to your liking and have shared your comments with the Executive Chef in an effort to improve.
Love the Grove Park Inn and visit frequently. This was our first time dining in the Vue. Unfortunately we were disappointed. The lobster in the lobster and grits was tough and not like other lobster I have eaten. Short ribs were dry. Service was OK but not at the level you would expect for a restaurant with this price point. Also at this price point I would expect a table cloth, not a warn table. Have eaten many times on the Terrace and Edison and never been disappointed. Wish I could be more positive about Vue.
Thank you for your continued patronage. We appreciate that you have enjoyed your past dining experiences at The Omni Grove Park Inn, however apologize that the same sentiments did not extend to your meal at Vue 1913. Upon your next visit, we hope you will give us the opportunity to better serve you.
Overall it was taste was comparable to Ruth Chris. Portions were small.
wonderful evening. Great food in a quite atmosphere with a great view. Not cheap but very very good. Had the elk loin while my wife had a mushroom casserole both were well worth the money.
Not as good as 2 years ago
Very creative and innovative menu, great view and outstanding service.
Fabulous ambiance, service, and food!
After reading the other reviews I was not sure what to expect other than pricey with a great view. We are foodies and were not disappointed. Food was excellent, the lone exception was the duck was not very tender but was very flavorful. The lamb, sea bass, and lobster were definitely 5 stars. If you are thinking if going, ignore the lesser reviews as they probably downgraded due to price alone. We had a wonderful time with excellent attentive service that was perfect. Invisible but always there when needed. The view is second to none, and I should know since I lived in Asheville 25 years ago when I couldn't afford to eat or stay at the Grove Park
I booked this reservation one month in advance coming up just for the day from Florida to Asheville. When I was seated I was at a table that was without any reasonable view which is what the restaurant is known for. When I asked about this they said it was done on a first come first serve basis. This was disappointing as I expect the manager to review open table requests and comments that are filled in by patrons.
I have separated written the hotel, but have not heard back at this time.
On a positive note our server, Kimberly, was great. Without her presence I would likely have rated much lower.
Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate your kind words towards Kimberly. Like all of our staff at Vue 1913, she is a valued members of the Omni family, and your dining experience is a reflection on her as well as others. Both the host and manager are correct in saying seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. We do apologize that this impacted your stay but please understand, we make every effort to fulfill all of our guests requests when available.
Fabulous meal, excellent service and a special birthday treat! Memorable evening!
