Vu Restaurant @ Hyatt Jersey City Ratings and Reviews
I was very worried after reading the reviews about this establishment from other people. After experiencing first hand I must say this restaurant exceeded my expectations. When you first walk in you up the escalators and walk straight ahead. As you proceed down there is a nice bar in the center of the room which was very good. Me and my gf ordered a drink while we were waiting to be seated. Beers were average priced $6-$7 and my gf got a margarita $14 which was a little steep but they use all top shelf liquor which was great! When our table was ready within 15 min the hostess came to get us from the bar. She brought us to our table which was right in front of these huge windows that have the most mesmerizing views of Manhattan and the new freedom tower. I can not say it enough how gorgeous this view was. As far as for the food they have a wife range of options that can please almost anyone. I ordered the pork chop over polenta which was amazing! It's huge in size so if you do decide to order make sure you are hungry. The sauce it came with was very sweet which was very nice just but not my favorite. My gf ordered a crab cake with polenta and Mac and cheese. Crab cake was possibly the best crab cake either of us have ever had. Filled with mostly all crab meat and minimal breadcrumbs which to me is how it should be. Overall I would give this restaurant 9/10 and for food 8/10. Will definitely be back.
AWFUL! Never again!
After having a terrible meal we were then charged $35 for parking for 90 minutes. The parking attendant explained to be sure to get our ticket validated before we leave when we arrived.
We did so & that was the “discounted price”. We were never told we would be charged for parking even though we were dining at the location.
The food was terrible. It tasted as though it was cheap room service. Also overpriced just like room service!
Small portions & high prices.
The crab cake had no taste & the lava cake was the size of a peanut butter cup.
Luckily we had a view!
Wasted $200 on a meal & came home hungry & aggravated.
My daughter's salmon was not cooked, I asked for hamburgers "well done" for my son and I and they were cooked around the edges only, pink/red the rest. The waitress gave us another salmon but then I complained that my hamburger was not well done, she offered another one but I declined and then I realized that my sons hamburger was not fully cooked. She then gave us 25% off . I didn't feel like making a big deal and just left without more complaints. Disappointed.
Sat with a nice view with the lunch menu (we were there for brunch). When the waiter came he said they were no longer serving brunch (even though there was an hour left in their serving window). So we ordered lunch. Food was cold, waiter did not check on us, and we had to flag down staff twice before our waiter came to settle our check.
Amazing location with complete view of the Manhattan skyline. The service was wonderful and the food was fabulous. They took special care to make arrangements for a post-engagement dinner complete with the prime, font & center, waterfront table and chilled champagne waiting at the table for our arrival. Highly recommend.
I believe this is my 3rd visit in many years, so that tells you something since it's only 2 miles from where I live. The hostess was nice and helpful. Wait staff is lacking. You have to flag people down to get a drink and they almost never refill your water (we had purchased bottled sparkling water). The food was good. I had the filet mignon and she had the flat iron steak. We split a Caesar, which was good but not great. The views are spectacular of Manhattan and the food is pretty good, but the service is always subpar.
Spacious dining room with a fabulous view of the Hudson and Manhattan. The food was good but not great. For some reason I had expected a tablecloth, but the table was bare and the menu printed on a piece of paper that could have doubled as a placemat. Our server was charming, but her uniform was food-spotted. It was overall a pleasant experience and decent value, but don’t expect fine dining.
The Vu is not only a terrific restaurant but also a wonderful experience. Sitting over the Hudson River, having lunch or dinner at the foot of the Freedom Tower and taking in the best view of the NYC skyline is extraordinary! My husband and I came once for our anniversary and I took a few girl friends there for lunch. Everyone raved. The food was exceptionally good and the staff made us feel special. After eating we walked out on the pier and watched all the activity on the river.
Thanks for making my 30 year service anniversary at my company such a very special occasion. The view was phenomenal and the service even better! Every one on the staff had a smile on their face and made you feel so comfortable. The food was very good, fresh and tasty. I would definitely go back again.
