Vu Restaurant @ Hyatt Jersey City Ratings and Reviews
Sat with a nice view with the lunch menu (we were there for brunch). When the waiter came he said they were no longer serving brunch (even though there was an hour left in their serving window). So we ordered lunch. Food was cold, waiter did not check on us, and we had to flag down staff twice before our waiter came to settle our check.
Amazing location with complete view of the Manhattan skyline. The service was wonderful and the food was fabulous. They took special care to make arrangements for a post-engagement dinner complete with the prime, font & center, waterfront table and chilled champagne waiting at the table for our arrival. Highly recommend.
I believe this is my 3rd visit in many years, so that tells you something since it's only 2 miles from where I live. The hostess was nice and helpful. Wait staff is lacking. You have to flag people down to get a drink and they almost never refill your water (we had purchased bottled sparkling water). The food was good. I had the filet mignon and she had the flat iron steak. We split a Caesar, which was good but not great. The views are spectacular of Manhattan and the food is pretty good, but the service is always subpar.
Spacious dining room with a fabulous view of the Hudson and Manhattan. The food was good but not great. For some reason I had expected a tablecloth, but the table was bare and the menu printed on a piece of paper that could have doubled as a placemat. Our server was charming, but her uniform was food-spotted. It was overall a pleasant experience and decent value, but don’t expect fine dining.
The Vu is not only a terrific restaurant but also a wonderful experience. Sitting over the Hudson River, having lunch or dinner at the foot of the Freedom Tower and taking in the best view of the NYC skyline is extraordinary! My husband and I came once for our anniversary and I took a few girl friends there for lunch. Everyone raved. The food was exceptionally good and the staff made us feel special. After eating we walked out on the pier and watched all the activity on the river.
Thanks for making my 30 year service anniversary at my company such a very special occasion. The view was phenomenal and the service even better! Every one on the staff had a smile on their face and made you feel so comfortable. The food was very good, fresh and tasty. I would definitely go back again.
If you are bringing your own bottle of wine be prepared to pay $25 for the corking fee. The View is excellent , you can see all of lower Manhattan and uptown . I had the salmon which was great. My girlfriend had the spareribs , they were fatty and tough , you are better off if you went to a local Chinese restaurant . The desserts wasn't that good . The cheese cake wasn't good at all .
The Vu Restaurant is located in the Hyatt Regency in Jersey City and it overlooks the Hudson River. There are great views of downtown Manhattan/WTC from every table thanks to the floor to ceiling windows. The food and service is good. The price is reasonable. It’s a nice change from the food trucks, delis and crowded restaurants if you work in the area. I would go back again.
I took my wife for our marriage anniversary. The server, Ticha, was very friendly and he was very attentive to our request. I loved the view of the lower manhattan, and the restaurant was very friendly and quiet, most of the customer were young adults and elderly people. The only negative thing is the food options. I think the should put more options, but in overall I loved this experience.
Worst restaurant I've been to in a long time. Horrific customer service. Food came out late after reminding them twice and they forgot. Didn't bring us cutlery. Offered app to make up for it but didn't ask which one we wanted and brought out something we were allergic to. Just awful and no professionalism.
Main course and apetizers were too expensive for the portion and flavor. Not many option in the menu. The man cleaning the dishes from the seem to be rushing us even thought were pkenty of empty tables. He was unpleasant. The most important of all is the food was not thst great and too expensive.
We have been to VU restaurant in the Hyatt a couple of times. The view is the main attraction for this restaurant. It is stunning to see the evening sky surround the Manhattan skyline. The colors of the city change as the sun sets. As for the service, our waiter was excellent,, he was personable and accommodating. The Vu wine list is a bit limited and on the expensive side. The chili/lime shrimp salad for an appetizer was delicious and is enough for two people. As for entrees, the branzino fish was nicely presented with muscles in a red broth and was tasty (not fishy).
Overall we had a nice dining experience and the Vu is worth checking out for an evening dinner. The view at the Vu is beautiful in the evening.
