Food and ambiance was great....server not so great. Used my total rewards points and was never asked for ID....anybody could have used one of my cards that I lose in slot machines from time to time and had a $140 off there bill
This place is phenomenal! Billy and Janet made my experience unforgettable! Billy was my server and Janet was my photographer. I will be coming back here, surely!
Great place to eat and enjoy the view of Vegas strip from 50th floor.
Perfect for the romantic birthday for my wife, service was great and the view breathtaking.
Food was great, however, we there for our anniversary. Restaurant was almost empty. After we ordered they seated a rowdy family next to us. We asked to move to one of the many other table and was told they were unavailable. They tried to seat another couple next to us and they said " not here next to the noisy people, so they seated them away in the same area we wanted. I asked why and was told those tables were not available till a certain time. Our anniversary was not the quiet, romantic evening we planned. The staff did not seem sorry at all. Will not return.
I ordered my steak medium but it was medium well. When I mentioned that to the waiter he told me to wait until I cut to the middle but he will check back with me. Steak was still medium well and the waiter never checked back with me. The view is amazing but the food is overpriced for the quality.
I finished my meal b4 my husband's steak came out. He requested it be cooked "medium", it was definitely "well done". I expect this from Outback Steakhouse. Lobster bisque is ok. It was Valentine's Day. I expected a better seat near a window. Chair was falling apart. I wanted it to end quickly so I could go get a burger. The violinist was the best part.
It was a great experience. Normally when you go to a fine dining restaurant the food is good but the portions are small. This wasn’t the case with our meal. We actually weren’t able to finish our food because there was so much. It was excellent. Highly recommend.
Wife and I really enjoyed dinner. But I think a better value is easy to find.
We went here for Valentine's Day dinner & the music was loud. So much for a romantic dinner. There was a violinist which we didn't mind but the speakers were so loud that we had to ask the waiter to turn it down. They did what we asked but it was still a loud ambience than what we expected. The 5 course prix fix menu was absolutely delicious which included a 40 oz porterhouse steak. It was tender, seasoned perfectly & a melt in your mouth steak. Even the bread basket was delicious. The dessert tray looked adorable & well thoughtfully crafted that I felt bad tearing it up to eat it! VooDoo is 5 stars as a steakhouse but for a romantic evening, this is not the place to go. Great view of the strip since it is on the 50th floor of the Rio hotel.
We arrived about 15 minutes early for reservations, Valentines Day. The hostess said we could not be seated in our window table before our reservation, but could be seated in a booth if we wanted, or go to the bar. There was no waiting room or other place to sit. As we walked to the bar we saw individuals eating at several window tables, and then a large group of window tables open. We decided not to sit at the bar, returned to the hostess to ask why we couldn't be seated. She said they did not have waitstaff yet. We asked if we could just sit at our table until our reservation, and she said no.
We stood around and then were seated. I found it a bit unusual, that even though this was Valentines Day, there were no flowers or any candle on the table. The wandering violinist was very good but the sound was way too loud- we, and the table next to us, asked to have it turned down so that at least we could hear one another. Our server did take care of that.
We decided to go with their price fixed Valentines Day menu, and ordered a bottle of wine to go with it. Our server, Jamal, was very good.
The shrimp appetizer was nice done and came quickly. This was followed by a grilled romaine salad, that was served on one plate- two large romaine leaves topped with a single slice of toasted bread. There were no serving utensils nor did they offer to put it on our individual plates. The romaine leaves were considerably longer than the salad plates and the single slice of toasted bread was very difficult to cut in two. The romaine leaves were tasty, however.
The main course, a 40 oz porterhouse, was beautifully presented and excellent in taste as well as tender. The rissotto with truffles had so much garlic that you could not taste the truffles.
The tray of deserts was very nice, especially the white chocolate shell hearths.
All in all just an OK experience that could have been much better with a bit of effort by the hostess. Not on par with other strip restaurants.
Food is excellent but expensive. My wife picked a drink that cost $45 (no drink price on the menu). Seemed very much like a rip off. Why when I tried to make a reservation they acted so swamped but the place is dead when we got there? Really? Couldn't make a 6:00 reservation for two but 5:30 is open. Get there at 5:30 and the place was dead! To make it worse there was still plenty of room at 6:00. Very strange.
Special Valentines Day menu posted on website, but no mention of the option when ordering dinner. In fact, no mention of Valentine's Day. Would have appreciated a red rose on the tables, a chocolate candy with the bill, something special to mark the day. Also limited choice of seating at 5:00 pm reservation. Told we would have to wait for 6:00 pm time if we wanted a table closer to the strip. No one at reservation check-in booth downstairs in advance of 5:00 pm reservation. No signs informing guests to wait there or proceed to elevator. Several guests milling around elevator trying to decide what to do. Poor welcome as introduction to the dining experience.

This was my 2nd time at VooDoo. The first time, we had the tomahawk, which I highly recommend, if you like steak. This time, we had the 20oz. bonein ribeye........I would recommend the tomahawk over this choice. It was "just ok".
The view was great and the service (thanks John) was exceptionally superb! We'll be back for the tomahawk.
