Ceasar salad, crispy chicken, pasta ..all delicious, great service.
Very pleasant place. Food great. And service too
Our favorite Kirkland restaurant.
Food was very good and service friendly and helpful
Space is a little tight. Priced more like s special occasion restaurant than a regular place to go.
This is an excellent gourmet, semi-casual , family owned restaurant. Perfect for couples, business and family. The atmosphere, service, food, wine and cocktails are exceptional. We have dined here for both social and business events. The menu is a mix of Italian/Northwest gourmet with a pleasant variety which includes some incredible appetizers and entrees. Highly recommend.
The food and service was exceptional! Can’t wait to come back!
Great bar and wait staff. Good place for a drink and bite. We prefer the bar area seating to the main restaurant, as the tables are more intimate and it's a bit quieter, so better for having a conversation.
A gem for Seattle restaurant week. All three courses were top notch. I am a lemon 🍋 dessert person and I gave to say the chocolate cake with vanilla gelato was even better! Our waiter was too attentive, 18 stops at our table, “nicely” kept interrupting our conversation. Plus the four non-obtrusive quiet food servers made 22 visits for a meal of two. The food was excellent though! I will eagerly go back for sure; but sit in a different section.
Volterra is a Kirkland gem. We went twice during Seattle Restaurant week it is so good. The food is excellent and the wine list is very nice. Some wonderful Italian reds on the list. The Caesar salad is one of the best I have ever had. The wild boar tenderloin in a light Gorgonzola cream sauce is exceptional. Service is very good and wait staff very friendly. One of our favorite Kirkland restaurants.
Seattle Restaurant Week was a good way for us to try Volterra. While there were some good options for the carnivores, being a vegan, I have to say it was not really vegan friendly. My salad was overdressed and the (only) vegan option was a plate of farfalle tossed with sun-dried tomatoes, pine nuts and a herb infused sauce - not much creativity by the chef or worth the price! Their regular menu had some better vegan options. Well stocked bar and cocktails and the deserts were great.
Great food on the seattle restaurant week menu.. crab ravioli was excellent. Service was super.
Excellent food and service.
we tried this restaurant out during seattle's restaurant week. Glad we did, never knew it was here! We had the Crab ravioli's and they were fantastic. Small portions but someone else had the pork shank? (I don't eat meat so I can't remember) but it was a nice portion, so the portion clearly varies. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. We will definately go back.
The pasta was great. I loved the chocolate cake! Will come back
Went during Seattle Dining week. Wonderful choices and delicious food. Highly recommend.
Wonderful menu for SRW.
Had an outstanding waiter named Paul, an older gentleman who took care not to make us feel rushed, even though it was restaurant week and quite busy. LOVED the Ceasar salad and my Crab Ravioli and such light Tiramisu! We are going back...
Volterra is a mainstay for fine dining in the region. One gets the sense that care is devoted to the cuisine and the service. Consistency is a hallmark of this Eastside treasure. The Restaurant Week menu was a particular value this year. Like its Kirkland neighbor Juanita Cafe, Volterra has maintained quality in both the menu and their personnel.
We went during Seattle Restaurant Week, so the dining room was busy, but the food was wonderful and service attentive without fussiness. The delicate crab ravioli and the lemon custard dessert (more like a panna cotta) were my favorite items.
Good vibe, interesting flavors and attentive staff.
Very nice menu for Seattle Restaurant Week. Lamb shank and Wild Bore were excellent. Always good service
I appreciated being accommodated in a booth especially since I am hard of hearing and would have had difficulty hearing our friends during dinner. We arrived at 5:30pm before the restaurant was filled, and it made for a lovely first time visit for a couple of friends who we frequently dine out with together. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
Always wonderful food and service! Our favorite.
Avoid the truffle butter. It will ruin your dish.
Overall great dining experience. Very attentive staff and exceptional quality.
I visited Volterra with a friend with the intention of using the Restaurant Week menu, but once we saw all of the delicious options on the full menu, we ended up picking and choosing our favorites. All of the food was wonderful, and the service was impeccable. We had a late reservation (8:30pm), and ended up being the last couple in the restaurant. We didn't overstay our welcome, but at no point did we feel rushed as the restaurant started to empty. Our waiter was gracious, had great recommendations, and attentive but not overbearing. We had a great time!
Tried Volterra out for Seattle Restaurant week and it was fantastic! Now Volterra is on our lists of places to go to!
Eight of us went to Volterra for Seattle restaurant week. It was pretty good.
It’s a gem in the wonderful Kirkland area. Amazing food.
Always top-notch 😊
It was horrible. From a rude waiter to a long wait for food, it was a disaster and we will never return. I had dined here for restaurant last year and had a good experience, so thought I’d bring my parents to dine here as well. We waited an hour for our food to arrive, and received no sympathy from any of the staff who also had nothing else to do. This was because the kitchen was understaffed that evening (as we assume by only seeing two college aged kids preparing the meal). When the food arrived, my pasta dish was lukewarm and my dad’s boar tenderloin was severely undercooked. He is a gastroenterologist and knows very well that the redness of this cut of meat was not safe to eat. Our waiter tried to argue with him but eventually stubbornly took it back to the kitchen. We waited another twenty five minutes for the new one to arrive. The pork jowls are a complete scam as it’s just salty bacon on a sad plate of pasta. The food is priced way more than what it’s true value is and there are far more better options in the area with great food at a better price point (Lynn’s Bistro, lilac cafe, and even TRELLIS... which has also been lacking in a few areas due to a recent management change). Despite all this, our waiter cared less about us and did not acknowledge our situation and frustrations. I don’t mind a few kitchen mistakes here and then, but the poor service broke the deal for me and would be a reason to not try this place again.
Outstanding experience from start to finish. Knowledgeable service & delicious food. The tasting menu for $44 is a bargain. Grazie!
Good food, good service. Always consistent. Great happy hour value.
Food was amazing! Service outstanding. We had a wonderful evening out with friends and will definitely go back.
Good food & service... Will be back.
Good food, good service (Thx Vic), fun drink list (try the Tuscan Vesper), not inexpensive !
Service was outstanding but the kitchen had run out of several of the desired food items (halibut, some pasta varieties) that the guests were excited to enjoy.
very familiar with Volterra. Had excellent experiences in past. Might have caught them on a night not at their best. Server felt like they were rushing us to clear. Recommended not getting some choices that were desired because kitchen was behind.
Very good food with many choices and we enjoyed the service too
We have been going here for years and love the food. There are always old favorites and new adventures to try food wise. Our waiter, Stephen, always wonderful service.
