VOLT offers guests a menu of modern American cuisine. “The focus of our cuisine is based on classic flavor combinations, creating sophisticated dishes that emphasize purity and seasonal flavors that are based on fundamental and innovative cooking techniques.” said Voltaggio. VOLT’s relationship with local artisan farmers ensures availability of products to fulfill the philosophy behind the menu, in a refined, historic venue where classic meets modern. By design, the restaurant follows along the original footprint of the mansions first floor parlors. Both the 38 seat main dining room and the bar/lounge open off the foyer. The original mosaic tile in the foyer was the inspiration behind the warm monochromatic color pallet that adorns the finishes in VOLT. Private dining can be hosted in the conservatory offering views of the expansive courtyard. The 700 square foot kitchen afforded space to include up to 20 guests.

We have been wanting to try Volt for several years, and finally got the opportunity this past weekend. The brunch was fabulous in every way. The food was creative and delicious, the ambiance was warm and welcoming, and the service was outstanding! We will put Vilt on our repeat list for sure.

We had a fantastic time celebrating my wife's birthday. Volt is the best treasure we have in Frederick, and we speak of it highly to our friends and relatives around the country.

We had not been there for a year and a half when we came in for dinner the other night. In our past several experiences, the service was superior. The waitstaff was high quality, friendly, and professional. This past time, however, there was a notable change in both appearance and quality of the staff (the front desk and bar staff aside). I only mention this since the service is a big part of the experience as a whole, and it seemed to be more casual this time.

We weren't sure who our actual waiter ever was since this person did not identify himself. At one point, we assumed the mature Asian gentleman (not to be demeaning in any way, just trying to identify him) was our waiter, but even he came and went along with a handful of others.

In addition, a few folks who came to the table frankly didn't have that professional Volt look or demeanor that we had been seeing over the last several years.

One of the bussers interacted with us quite a bit and was super friendly. However, he lingered too long and would start conversations with us that seemed awkward and intrusive.

Having said all of this, we love Volt. Bryan Voltaggio is an amazing chef.

When I first made the reservation I was weary of the pricetag that opentable listed for Volt. While it *can* get pricey, there is also a $45 3 course tasting menu that is quite reasonable. I ate across the street a few days earlier and paid quite a bit more for a mediocre meal. I would highly recommend Volt over any other restaurant in downtown Frederick.

Our party of 4 had a delightful, relaxed brunch last Sunday at Volt. Service was outstanding, perhaps even more soignee than required - I really could open the door to the restroom on my own. The restaurant décor caught the eye upon entry and managed to convey both a sense of refinement and comfort without being in any way stuffy or overdone. Located in an historic brick mansion (?), the restaurant is tastefully decorated with comfortable, well-spaced seating. Service is truly outstanding; we all felt the staff and kitchen were prepared to meet any needs we may have.
The brunch menu includes a 3 course and 5 course prix fixe and al a carte options. While we thought we would do the 3 course, we ended up doing a mixture of a la carte and prix fixe based on hunger levels and were pleased that the staff let us know when one or the other would be the better price option. I had the salmon on everything toast and loved every bite of it. Kind of a goy version of bagel and cream cheese with lox. The others had the dessert granola and fruit parfait as a starter and each said it was one of the best they'd had. We also tried a number of other dishes, from French toast with pork belly, soft scrambled eggs with pepperoni and potato tart wedge, omelette with bacon and carmelized onion, and the duck cassoulet. The apple coffee cake was not memorable, though we skipped the maple ice cream, which may have helped liven up the dish. The kitchen at Volt is top notch and all dishes were spot on in terms of preparation, and creatively presented. We will be back.

Volt is the best fine dining in Frederick MD. Found is superb gourmet dining. Expensive by Frederick standards but well worth it. My lamb shank was as tender as the best prime rib. Allow yourself time to be here where dining is the main event of the evening.

This was our first visit to Volt and we had been wanting to go there for quite a few years. We don't get to Frederick very much but this time I decided to make a reservation for their Tuesday through Thursday night $45 three course menu. It was outstanding and the service was equally great. I had the tuna tartare and my wife had the foie gras for our first course. Both were outstanding appetizers. I had the rockfish and my wife had the lamb shank and ditto for both. For desert I had the chocolate desert and my wife got a pumpkin dessert where the outside was in the shape of a pumpkin (and it was edible) and included an edible stem. At the end of the meal they brought us some candy treats and we left with each getting a homemade chocolate chip cookie to take home.
I also have to mention their happy hour in the bar which we didn't know about until we got there. All of their specialty cocktails are $5 during happy hour from 3 to 7pm Monday through (i think) Friday but it might be Thursday. They have a $12 burger and specialty cocktail special during that time and also a bunch of $5 appetizers. Beers are $4 and glasses of wine are $6 during that time if I remember correctly.
We will eat there again when in Frederick.
Thank you for a great meal and experience.

Very impressed with the ambiance of your high-quality restaurant. Please pass on our thanks to Kara, Paatrick, and Stan. Kudos to Bryan Voltaggio for bringing such elegance to Frederick, MD. The wife and myself have been waiting to go here for sometime. The resurant is about 1.5 hours away from us. We decided to go for our 5 year anniversary. I would say Volt may have had the best service I've ever expirenced. They were always on top of you food and drinks but never seemed pusy or a nussiance. We orderd off of the menu instead of the cheys tasting menu. The food was great, and creative. The staff did make our anniversary sepcialby giving us a free desert. I can say we left the resurant with full bellys and big smiles. Well worth the cost.

Honestly this restaurant is over-rated. For instance in our appetizer, we were surprised by the frozen goat cheese and asked if it was supposed to be frozen (as it wasn’t mentioned on the menu). The waiter said they can’t possibly mention everything in the menu or it would be impossibly long blah blah. We were made to feel bad for asking. The thing is, freezing the goat cheese rendered it tasteless, so didn’t enhance anything. The remainder of the dishes were ok, but not special. Lamb shank was under seasoned, calamari was over seasoned. Just an underwhelming experience overall. Decor is also underwhelming. Sorry!

Volt is excellent! They serve either a 3 course (+dessert) prix fixe menu, or a 10 course tasting menu. I have been twice, but only had the 3 course offering. The food is excellent, the service is excellent, and the wine list is extensive, with many price points represented. The building is elegant and charming, and was especially welcoming in the winter storm Avery snow that was falling furiously as we dined. I forgot to take pictures of the food, but I did get some of the building, and the view out into the snowy streets.

I wanted to love this restaurant but the food was not that great. Some of the pairings didn’t make sense. We did the tasting menu of 10 courses and we only liked (not loved) about 2. The complimentary bread was delicious. The duck was good. Desserts were unique but again not amazing. The service was excellent, servers were friendly and personable. There was no long waits between meals.

This restaurant lives up to its reputation. The food is excellent in its preparation and flavors, more so the starters than the entrees. The service is impeccable. Wait staff is always available, friendly and courteous. The atmosphere is relaxed while appropriate for a fine dining experience. Most importantly, the volume level is low so you can enjoy your conversation. While it is labeled $$, it is not out of the ordinary for fine dining in this area.
We've been wanting to go there since it opened, and we are so pleased we did!

Service was terrific. Right from the start they treat you very respectfully and nicely. The vibe in the establishment was very calm and romantic. You will typically be engaged in only your conversation however if a funny happens with a group next to you you are able to enjoy the moment with them. As far as food goes, the menu was fantastic, they have many choices. My favorite was the octopus. It's a little spendy, but it was well worth it. Great wine selection as well.

I requested these first 3 courses In advance having had this 2 weeks prior for my son’s 32nd bday celebrated at Volt and the awesome Chef made it just for me cuz the menu actually changed since then. Soooo impressed and appreciative. Best best best meal!!!! Wow!!!! I can’t begin or end in words the detail, the fabulous food and how special I felt!!!

From the moment we walked into VOLT, we knew we were about to have a memorable dining experience. The staff is friendly and warm and make you feel welcome as soon as you enter. The service was impeccable and the wait staff was very knowledgeable.
On the menu are two service options - a 10 course tasting menu, option for each course to be paired with wine, or ala carte, but suggested 4 course options if you want to create a 4 course tasting menu. We opted for the latter and our party of 3 each chose a different item and we all tasted each others selections.
This is fine dining, elevated food, seasonal, fresh and DELICIOUS!
Notable items on the menu the night we were there: Yellow fin tuna tartar, pickled carrot puffed rice with peanut and egg emulsion - fantastic! Fresh and so tasty! Monkfish with wheat grain, pears, and crispy porcini chip - so good and the fish was perfection. Foie Gras in a molded concord grape gel, rye crumbles and a pistachio chip and Beets with goat cheese and apple jam with crunchy walnuts. You wouldn't think concord grape would go with Foie Gras, but it does! The Beets salad was delicious as well - an elevated version of a now standard menu item - but the walnuts crunchies and apple jam made it special and different and again, DELICIOUS!
Desserts - Caramel cremeaux with fig and a porcini sponge with honey nutmeg ice cream and a Yuzu sorbet with eucalyptus foam, coconut and white chocolate crunchies. Hopefully I remember all the components correctly. The Caramel Cremeaux was hitting my mouth with so many different flavors and then they meld together perfectly in the end. It was so, so good! My friends had the Yuzu sorbet and LOVED IT! They described it as bright and refreshing.
One member of our party is lactose intolerant. The 1st thing asked at our table was if anyone had any dietary restrictions, and then they modified her menu choices so she could enjoy her meal without worry.
Overall, dining at VOLT was perfection.

The service and the goodies that they bring at the beginning of the meal and after dessert are impeccable. Our appetizers and desserts were awesome but the entrees were so-so. My dish lacked salt and my daughter's was a little on the salty side.
