I’ve been to this restaurant several times and most times really enjoyed the experience. It was a beautiful night and we sat outside on the patio. People were allowed to smoke in the courtyard and we had to endure cigarette smoke while trying to eat. Smoking should not be permitted there, it really put a damper on the evening. Service was also unusually slow. The food was good but for the cost I expect better.
Third time visiting this wonderful place. We usually wait for special occasions. As usual, it was
a great experience with excellent food, service and ambiance. A little far for us to travel, but
well worth the trip.....
This was the first time we had eaten here. We had heard reviews about how expensive it was, but after the experience - I can see why. Even though we only had two courses, which was plenty, he were able to see the levels of service offered. The food was fantastic but matched by the level of service from host to waiter to servers, etc. Very much attention to detail!

Very well managed and excellent staff but food was very disappointing after all we had heard.
This is a special restaurant with food that you will not get anywhere else. From the "green" salad with fresh spring vegetables to the perfectly cooked monkfish and the egg in a nest dessert - it was perfection. Then there are the extras like freshly baked bread and biscuits and the small tasting of truffles, jellies, macarons, and salted caramels. And then there is the homemade chocolate chip cookie to take home. The service is outstanding from the moment you enter until you leave. All members of the staff are there to help you. It was especially rewarding to be able to watch Chef Bryan Voltaggio in action the night that we visited.

This was one of the most amazing dining experiences of my life. Every course, every bite was an adventure in taste. We had an amazing waiter who made an incredible recommendations, and we had told the restaurant when we made our reservations that it was for our 30th wedding anniversary, and I could not of asked for a better venue to celebrate with my husband. We were given complimentary appetizers and complementary desserts. I loved every morsel of my dinner. Thank you VOLT for a fabulous dining adventure!

We had a lovely brunch with excellent food and very attentive service. We will definitely be going back. The food is inventive without being too over the top. We especially liked the beet salad and the chocolate mousse.
The presentation of the food is innovative, and usually delish. I'm not a fan of walnuts, but there was a walnut brittle that was oh so yummy.
We had been looking forward to dining at Volt for several years and made a weekend trip from DC to celebrate our anniversary. We were very underwhelmed with the experience - our table for two was for four in the brightly light kitchen area with no windows and we were sat side by side facing the kitchen, which was awkward (we weren’t close enough to see any of the action, so it just felt really weird). The food was pretty good, although there were some misses (like a bland carrot dish). A disappointing experience compared to our high expectations for a special occasion meal.
From the bread sticks on the table to the dessert, the food was outstanding!
The green salad with frozen coconut was beyond expectations. The octopus was absolutely delicious. The main course of monk fish with compressed pear was delightful. A combination I never would have thought of, but they were excellent together. The desserts were just grateful, and we even got a cookie to take home. The staff were polite, friendly, professional and attentive.

My wife and I went for our anniversary. The service is fantastic and we had the 10 course tasting menu. It was a fantastic meal.
Another amazing evening at Volt. Outstanding and beautiful food with lots of extra special touches and impeccable service. The Egg in the Nest dessert was incredible.

The food was wonderful - simple ingredients assembled to highlight each one so that nothing of each one was lost to the taste as a whole. The service was impeccable, aiming (and succeeding) in making the diner feel important and valued. The cocktail that I had "On-The-Fly" was absolutely delicious, and the little touches of a complimentary amuse bouche to start, the beet macaron simply melted on the tongue, and a chocolate chip cookie to-go with were unexpected and delightful. I enjoyed my cookie for breakfast the next morning, extending my positive experience at VOLT right into the next day. Would definitely return!

We got this reservation for 5:30 an hour before we went. It was such a treat and everything was delicious and interesting and unusual. The service was perfect. The room was quiet and welcoming. A really special place.
Try the Alchemy cocktail... sublime! Incredible chef's tasting menu dinner with wine pairings. Ten courses...several savory appetizers featuring these elements: foie gras, beet flavored macaron, salmon, chive madeline, citris, parsnip puree, hamachi (Pacific yellowtail), fennel, goat cheese ravioli of course, three types of breads, then a divine cod dish, super tender and juicy duck, perfectly cooked beef, broccoli rabe, too many yummy elements to recall, but all were delicious. A dessert plate of several small bites in strawberry, chocolate truffle, tiny macaron, and since we were celebrating, they brought out a frozen pineapple sorbet rolled in hazelnuts, and sent us home with a huge delicious chocolate chip cookie each. Everything was wonderful and the staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and the environment lovely but not snobby. I might try to get into the weekend brunch to try that next!

As always they made our brunch a special occasion. We were celebrating my 71st birthday and our staff went over and above to make it special. The food was amazing as always. Can't wait till our next visit.

Most unique dessert I’ve ever had. Yuzu sorbet, but it was frozen with liquid nitrogen. Awesome, so good.

I had a wonderful experience with my family at this elegant establishment located in the heart of downtown Frederick . The food was beyond excellent , very creative and world class. The service personnel are warm and friendly, very personable and welcoming. The service execution was very cohesive and attentive. Food temperature and doneness were very exacting , and the offerings very well composed and delivered. The food surpassed every imagined expectation on our part in presentation, freshness and taste. I am glad that I finally paid a visit to this gem.
If you are looking for fine dining, this is the place. Food was impeccable and innovative. Service was spot on. Not an inexpensive night out, but definitely felt like we got what we paid for. Would highly recommend.

The beet appetizer at Sunday brunch was delightful and delicious. My description would be flash-frozen goat’s cheese, an unidentified crunch and perfectly done beets. If I’d paid attention to the menu, I’d be more frilly and accurate!
I want enamore with the duck Bolognese. While it appeared a small portion, there was plenty of pasta. The sauce was finely applied with a few shreds of duck I believe there was more in the sauce. But the flavors just didn’t amaze me.
The chocolate mousse with strawberry balsamic ice cream and chocolate hazelnut garnish was lovely.
Went for brunch. Very much worth the value! We will be back! Great experience.
I had heard so much about VOLT even when I lived in Frederick several years ago and when I saw you were opening for brunch, I immediately signed up. The only disappointment in the food, in the brunch 3-course meal, was the pork belly. I LOVE pork belly but it was tough to cut, taking a lot of "sawing" with my knife to cut a piece. I've eaten it before at other restaurants and it was never that tough. The interior was nice but seemed severe; sort of classic, with using barn doors for the bathrooms...just expected something a bit more decorated to reflect your reputation.
My son and I came to our favorite restaurant- Volt!!!! Started with Beet appetizer with goat cheese and cauliflower appetizer - sooooo good! I had octopus next- exceptional and my son had Ravioli, then I had Wild Bass which was just as exceptional and my son had the Monkfish- amazing. Homemade biscuits and sourdough rolls with wine and then homemade desserts and cookies to take home. I’ve been truly pampered here and that’s just exceptional food and service every step of the way!!!
