The food was excellent. And the service was equally as good. In fact, it was just like being a guest on Top Chef.
The beet appetizer at Sunday brunch was delightful and delicious. My description would be flash-frozen goat’s cheese, an unidentified crunch and perfectly done beets. If I’d paid attention to the menu, I’d be more frilly and accurate!
I want enamore with the duck Bolognese. While it appeared a small portion, there was plenty of pasta. The sauce was finely applied with a few shreds of duck I believe there was more in the sauce. But the flavors just didn’t amaze me.
The chocolate mousse with strawberry balsamic ice cream and chocolate hazelnut garnish was lovely.
Went for brunch. Very much worth the value! We will be back! Great experience.
I had heard so much about VOLT even when I lived in Frederick several years ago and when I saw you were opening for brunch, I immediately signed up. The only disappointment in the food, in the brunch 3-course meal, was the pork belly. I LOVE pork belly but it was tough to cut, taking a lot of "sawing" with my knife to cut a piece. I've eaten it before at other restaurants and it was never that tough. The interior was nice but seemed severe; sort of classic, with using barn doors for the bathrooms...just expected something a bit more decorated to reflect your reputation.
My son and I came to our favorite restaurant- Volt!!!! Started with Beet appetizer with goat cheese and cauliflower appetizer - sooooo good! I had octopus next- exceptional and my son had Ravioli, then I had Wild Bass which was just as exceptional and my son had the Monkfish- amazing. Homemade biscuits and sourdough rolls with wine and then homemade desserts and cookies to take home. I’ve been truly pampered here and that’s just exceptional food and service every step of the way!!!
Incredible dining experience. Chose to do the tasting menu and it sent out tastebuds soaring!!
It was our first time so we went all out and dined at the Chef's Counter with wine pairings. It was so interesting being able to see how the food is made and assembled. The Sommelier was knowledgeable and attentive. The food was delicious and like nothing we've ever had before. It took us back to our vacation in Paris. Definitely recommend.
Traveled from Bmore for this experience, and it was unbelievable. We chose the chefs tasting which was 10 courses. Not only was the food amazing but our server Stan was perfect, took the time to talk with us explain things in detail and made it an all around amazing time. All of the servers did a great job as well. The experience was a little pricey compared to what I saw on their menu online but I was a little naive to think the cost would be that low. We will definitely return and next time sit at the counter so we can see these creations come alive right in front of our eyes. Thank you Volt!
This restaurant is in a class of it's own. Food and cocktails are so unique and utterly delicious! Service is wonderful and knowledgeable - they made us feel special and spoiled us with little extra tastings. We can't wait to go back. Their $45 weekday dinner special make it extra affordable. Totally worth the hour drive.
My wife and I went here for our 3rd anniversary. Food was delicious. Service was incredible. Presentation was beautiful. They brought out a special dessert for our special day.
I have NEVER had a disappointing meal here, ever!
I have had more than one meal experience of the past few years and the quality and service has never declined. I dare say this is kind of unusual. When a restaurant has been in business for a period of time it has been my former experience, service and/or food generally declines over the years. This has not been the case at Volt. Volt is an absolutely awesome fine dining experience and I RECOMMEND everyone that can experience it, should!
Excellent service. Food first rate. Would return in a heartbeat.
The food was a little salty and the menu for the first course of restaurant week changed.
Wonderful meal.... creative without being pretentious. Service is professional and attentive. I especially loved the octopus.
Wonderful as always. A treat to bring new friends with us. We had the BEST table near the window on Market Street . The service was exceptional, efficient but not hurried . The amuse Bouche as well as the chive biscuits were bonus treats. The food was delightful with such adventuresome pairings--hurrah for the fois gras ( would have liked more choices for dessert but this was Restaurant Week so I understand the restrictions) And how nice to see a New Zealand red wine on the menu!
Best meal I've ever had.
As always, incredible food and just the right amount! Our wine was equally amazing. There was just enough time between courses to be ready for the next. Service is always stellar. I highly recommend Volt for a fun night out.
This is not just a place to get food. This is a place you go for an experience.
WENT FOR RESTAURANT WEEK`S PREFIX . THE ONLY ISSUE WAS AN 8 DOLLAR EXTRA CHARGE FOR SHORT RIBS. THIS WASN`T CLEAR ON THE MENU NOR WAS IT MENTIONED BY THE SERVER. IT WOULDN`T HAVE CHANGED OUR ORDER, BUT IT`S ALWAYS UNPLEASANT TO QUESTION THE BILL. IT SHOULD BE NOTED SOMEWHERE NOTICEABLE. AND I DON`T BUY THE THE STATEMENT, "IF YOU HAVE TO ASK, YOU CAN`T AFFORD IT". I THINK IT`S A COURTESY TO THE CUSTOMER. OVERALL, WE HAD A VERY NICE TIME.
We went for restaurant week. While the evening started out well with polite service, a delicious cocktail and bread, the actual food ranged from okay to inedible. I couldn’t eat my main course because it was too salty, and everyone at the table agreed the food was generally over salted. In addition a 4 course meal took over 3 hours with over 30 min in between courses. I had to start asking when our courses were coming out. I will not be returning to this restaurant.
Very good food. We ordered wine with lunch. The first pour was the only time the wait staff poured from the bottle. The entire rest of the bottle we poured ourselves. Server was very perfunctory.
Everything was great. The only thing that was a bit weird was that they stopped refilling our drink (tea) as though we were being told that we had had enough.
We had a great time from the moment we walked through the door at Volt. The food was delicious, the service was wonderful and the ambiance was welcoming, all without pretention. The amuse-bouche set the stage for a great meal... just one bite but wow!...so yummy! I would also highly recommend the beet salad.
Spectacular food during Frederick's Restaurant Week. The atmosphere is modern and appealing, and the food is creative and whimsical. Fantastic bartender who took the time to leave a busy bar and talk to us about the limited run whiskey offerings. Only (mild) complaint: hostess seemed disinterested. As it was my first time at Volt, I expected to be shown to the lounge/bar area, but it seemed like these details were an afterthought for the hostess. Otherwise, excellent evening and experience.
This was the best experience! Food , ambience and service was excellent
My friends & I celebrated our birthdays at Volt.
We each enjoyed the experience & the time together.
The service was excellent & made our experience both educational & fun!
Thank you all.
First rate restaurant, but some dishes were disappointing. The chicken dish was uninspired and too many entries included nuts. We will return to give this chef another chance.
Very pricy but the best service I ever had. The also provided a wide range of extra food like a variety of biscuits and a chocolate chip cookie. It was definitely an experience. And all the food looks like pieces of art.
This restaurant was fantastic. Our waiter, the staff, and everyone were top notch. The food was delicious and beautiful. While we had a very good time, our entire meal took about 3 hours. We had the 3 course Restaurant Week dinner, with an added "supplemental dish". Between the extra appetizer course and the entree, we waited about 45 minutes. I believe the high volume of the night was to blame, and they made up for it at the end with extra sweets and apologies. Overall it was a great experience!
Although this restaurant is on the expensive side, it was worth our money. We had a wonderful time from the reception desk, to the bar, to the dining room. The service and the food are exceptional. We were celebrating my birthday, and we have another celebration coming up this month, so I made a reservation already for it.
They offered a small but well priced selection of wines specific for Restaurant Week.
Additionally, we will be visiting the bar during happy hour often from now on. They have reasonably-priced beverages and a couple of dishes. We were waiting for our table at the bar, and had the cheese platter (it was actually just one cheese selection), which was absolutely delicious.
Volt... was... awesome! Quite possibly the best "fancy" meal I've ever had. Food was insanely delicious. Drinks were very tasty. Service was outstanding. Well worth every penny...
Got the seabass on their restaurant week menu and half of it was not cooked to the point where I could not even cut it. My friend ordered the same dish and hers was cooked perfectly.
Absolutely delicious, and the service and atmosphere was wonderful!
We were put in the kitchen and it was very noisy and brightly lit. So not the relaxing time we have had in the past. Our server was ok but wasn’t as accommodating as past servers who bend over backwards to make our experience a 5 star event. We are a difficult party as we are vegan but past experiences have been so wonderful due to the efforts of the server. This time our server said “no” to our requests. So a bit disappointed. Will go back again, though. The menu hasn’t changed much since our last visit so it’s good to put a lot of space in in between visits.
It’s hard to describe how well Volt crafted our meal. Professional warm service and outstanding food does not quite capture what we experienced. From the greeters to the bartender to our servers, the entire staff worked seamlessly to make us feel at home. The food was superb. Fresh ingredients and creative combinations across all three courses. The Duck Bolognese and Ravioli with Goat cheese were delicious.
One of the best restaurants in the Washington Metropolitan Area.
Volt is an exceptional dining experience. The food quality, service and presentation is better than any other dining experience in Frederick. Tables are well spaced and you can carry on a conversation in a normal speaking level. We have dined at Volt multiple times and it continues to be the finest dining experience in Frederick.
Always wonderful, you get what you pay for! Sunday evenings are the best time to go!
VOLT is what it’s all about. Impeccable service, pleasant ambiance and the food that is to die. This time it was a cheeseburger (which was perfected) and a couple of cocktails (the bartender was extremely attentive and helpful).
