Excellent 10 course tasting menu. Knowledgeable wait staff and nice atmosphere. The only drawback was there is no valet or private parking.
We were looking forward to dining at Volt and it was exceptional in every way. The service was impeccable throughout the meal. The staff was friendly and helpful. The specialty cocktails were delicious. We selected the corn chowder, tuna tartare, shared the calamari bolognese, the cod and pork chop. All were delicious and beautifully presented. The desserts selected were the black forrest and the egg in the nest. They were works of art in their presentation.
We were in Frederick for a reunion and traveled a day early from Philadelphia just to fine at Volt. I wish it was in Philly!
Lovely. The food was amazing. Staff were good. The vibe of the resteraunt was easy and welcoming.
Loved it. And we have been dying to try it
Ordered cod from menu provided. Informed by wait staff some minutes later that item unavailable since menu I ordered from was from the day before. Wait staff was not entirely familiar with the menu and made a few trips to kitchen to clarify. Dining room temperature was cool and my wife was chilled. Dining room was dark even though it was a bright sunny day outside. Shades were pulled down inside the dining room. Food was tasty and presentation was excellent. Lack of attention to some of the details prevents this from being a five star rating. No regrets with giving this place a try.
Very Good meal, but menu is becoming very limited. I don't consider it a good candidate for weekend brunch anymore. Entrees are mostly dinner fare and my penne dish was bland. Appetizers are wonderful. Staff is wonderful. ( I'm from DC area - sometimes OpenTable lists me as from NY, which is incorrect)
We thoroughly enjoyed the Chef’s tasting menu and each of the servers was extremely courteous and interested in how much we enjoyed each course. The noise level was high, but the ambiance was enjoyable and the bar was fun.
Volt offers a tasting menu with wine pairing that was fantastic! We didn’t look at the menu and just ordered the tasting without knowing what they might bring.
Our servers were fun and we tried new wine that we loved! We highly recommend!
Just an awesome evening at Volt!
The service was seemless, which is something that I do not say often..
The staff was equally great and our birthday evening all the more special
We enjoyed the interesting food combinations on the tasting menu.
Since my wife and I relocated to Maryland for work, we missed the high quality food and restaurants of the north east. VOLT reminded us of what we have been missing for quite sometime. The food, staff and overall dining experience was outstanding. Maryland should look at VOLT and us it as a representation of what fine dining should be. We are planning to visit more often and bring our friends.
Food was amazing. Drinks were amazing. Connor, our bartender was amazing. We’ve been raving about our experience all week to everyone that will listen.
A must visit to Volt. The food is exquisite and service impeccable.
Amazing dining experience
The best meal my husband and I have ever had. Better, even, than Alinea. We hope to return to Table 21 in the future.
Subtly elegant food served elegantly.
Some dishes a little adventurous and carried out well. We appreciated the small plates so e could try something from each of the 4 courses (sharing some) and didn't feel stuffed. The tuna tartare was heavenly. We'd return in a heartbeat, no special occasion required, but Volt is a perfect place for a special occasion. Diners on each side of us were celebrating wedding anniversaries.
Excellent Food and Service, Average Ambience and somewhat Noisy.
Fantastic food. SUPERB cocktails. Wonderful atmosphere. Great service. Worth dining and visiting Frederick, MD!
Great food and service
Except for our main server, the staff was excellent. Our main server was condescending and rude. Most of the dishes were wonderful, with the exception of our main entree, which was inedible due to an acrid tasting sauce.
Modern cuisine fine dining in an eclectic funky setting. Food and service is comparable to a Michelin 1-2 star. Tasting menu. Great cocktail menu. Incredible sourdough bread.
Everything was perfect, except, the kitchen was slow. Great food, manager, hospitality!
We've been to VOLT before and the food was much better. The overall feel of the restaurant was a little worn, it seems to have lost it edge a bit. Having gone to Voltaggio Brothers Steak and Estuary, I feel the owner is putting more emphasis on his new projects than VOLT. It was a little disappointing because we took our daughter there for her 18th birthday and it just didn't pack the punch we were hoping for. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, but I think Brian Voltaggio needs to do some updates to the space.
Amazing meal and great service. Wine paired great with everything. Great for a special occasion.
Knowledgeable staff is able to explain everything on the menu. Food arrives all at the same time and everyone knows where it goes. The food is really delicious, impeccably prepared and presented. An interesting menu of seasonal items is good value. We will be back
The food is creative and delicious. Go there for a special culinary experience.
Very nice but pricey. Excellent service. Probably the best I've ever had. Food was excellent and unusual. Something for everyone. Definitely recommend Volt for special occasions.
This was our second time at Volt. The food this time wasn’t as good. I got the French toast and I hate to say this, but the toast was really tough. My husband loved his burger, but said the fries were just okay. The cheese plate was also underwhelming, we’ve had much better at the Wine Kitchen downtown. Maybe it was just an off day? We still like Volt and probably will return way in the future, but this time was just kind of a bummer.
The food was phenomenal and wine pairings sublime. We had the tasting menu for lunch. A lovely way to spend an afternoon.
A delightful Sunday brunch. Carrot vadovan appetizer was spectacular
I have been dying to try Volt for years. Sadly, I think I missed it’s glory days. Food and service running on reputation and not quality. Tasting menus had more so-so dishes than hits. Flavors muted or non-existent Service was rushed then slow. Such a disappointment.
Everything was perfect.
I think my only nudge would be the cost was a little high for the menu we were presented.
Volt continues to be a wonderful gift to Frederick.
Worth the drive and money
The first two courses were very good. My wife had the pork entree and it was definitely not tender. There was a good portion of pork but again the lack of tenderness detracted from the entree. I had the chicken cereal entree with mushrooms. Unless I misunderstood the menu description, there was no chicken that accompanied the mushrooms. The mushrooms were good and the entree was tasty but the lack of chicken was certainly surprising.
An amazing dining experience! The chef’s tasting menu is superb, very creative, well thought of and perfectly balanced.
Fantastic and well worth the drive from DC! Innovative appetizers, most particularly a carrot and coconut appetizer that was like an explosion of freshness in your mouth, as well as a delicious lobster congee. For the main courses, the homemade pastas were delicious, particularly the one with duck. The service was impeccable, and they send you on your way with wrapped cookies. All in all a delight!
I loved the wonderful service immediate....
My appetizer was lovely and yummy...a bit over priced...
My octopus ..which I was so excited to have was a bit bland with its ingredients...not up to a higher rating..which I could...
Breads amazing ..butter way toooo salty.
