We come here frequently for many reasons. The menu choices, presentation of food , attentive wait service, reasonable cost and the romantic ambiance make this a very special place to eat. On Valentine's Day price fix menu had unique cuisine and I had the best creamy-like dessert I have ever had. On Saturday evenings there is a piano player who can play anything you request and the music adds to the romantic atmosphere. If you don't want to have background music while you dine, you can sit in the enclosed dining area. Valet parking is convenient. Holiday decorations are superb. At times, some couples have gotten up to dance to the piano music.
Excellent all around. It’s rare to find such a classy place still in existence. We had our wedding there 30 years ago and it’s still as elegant as it was back then.

We truly enjoyed the ambiance and delicious meal. Having a Valentine's Day birthday is always "interesting" because the weekend before, after and during Valentines day is usually so busy that the service in a restaurant is less than attentive. At Volpe all was great!
We had an excellent meal in a great environment, while celebrating my wife's birthday. The atmosphere was great and the food and drink were outstanding.
It was just ok . Restaurant didn’t feel like a restaurant - it was more of room in a country club venue vibe (and I don’t mean they in an exclusive way). Food was mediocre - I got the surf and turf and asked for my steak to be cooked medium (it was well done). My husband’s grilled calamari app was rubbery but he did say his shrimp francese was decent. Spent time before hand perusing the menu & wine list in the hopes of it being a nice birthday dinner & it was disappointing.
My wife and I arranged with another professional medical couple for a 7:30 reservation on Saturday night, 2/3/18, at the Volpe restaurant. The bar area and restaurant are well designed and decorated with taste.
However, the meal was one of the worst we've ever had. The food portion of the meal for four people was $173. My wife and I shared two items on the special menu, snapper for two ($59) and for dessert, strawberries with cannoli custard ($14).
The snapper came out baked in a thick brown salt crust. The waiter removed the crust with difficulty, discarded it, and filleted the sides of the fish for two servings. The fish was extremely dry, and he struggled to keep each side together. On each oval white plate was a semblance of a fillet separated into multiple pieces as if a child had played with his food. Each plate was mostly empty, and the pieces of fish were filled with bones. The fish was overwhelmed by the salt and was otherwise tasteless, dry, and flaky. The waiter made up a sauce of oil, lemon, and rosemary to disguise the vile fish, but it was unsuccessful. My wife squeezed her lemons and mine onto the fish, still it was dry and inedible. He should have offered to take it back. We did not want to make a fuss, as we were out with another couple; otherwise, we would have paid for the salad appetizer and left.
The strawberries were equally disappointing. Served were three very small strawberries with custard placed on their tops. They were old and partly rotting. It just seems inappropriate for $4.67 each.
We could tell that the waiter was embarrassed. Unfortunately, management did not permit him the liberty of offering a better fare.
We will never return.
