Vogue Bistro Ratings and Reviews
Very interesting menu. Food was good as well as the service. Very noisy with tables very close to each other. Patio dining area adjacent to the main dining room ..noisy and drafty due to open door. Overall an ok experience...may return in the future to try again.
We’ve been going to Vogue Bistro since it opened a decade ago, and have always rated it highly; but I don’t know what was going on this past Monday night. My wife and I had out-of- town guests and made reservations for 5 people at 5:30.
We were seated right away by the hostess, but after 15 minutes had not been further acknowledged. I got up and found the hostess, who then hunted down the person who was to be our server. Our server was very pleasant and competent, but it seemed that things went awry whenever she was assisted by others. When our drinks came they were put in front of the wrong people. The same thing occurred when we received our main courses. At a restaurant with prices like Vogue, we expect whoever is bringing the food and drinks to know who ordered them.
The food was very good, as it usually is. However, it does appear that the prices have risen and the portion sizes have been reduced. This is all the more reason to expect a superior level of service.
No one asked us if we would like another drink, so part way through the meal I ordered one for my wife and I to share. It finally arrived after the bill came. As for the bill, we had informed our server prior to ordering how we wanted the bill split, and she said that was fine. Only one bill arrived for the table. When we mentioned that we had asked for it to be split, the assistant asked us to repeat the specifics. Then when the separate checks were returned to us with our credit cards, they were delivered to the wrong people at our table.
It’s not that I’m incapable of politely correcting mistakes, but they were ongoing throughout our evening. For the price we paid for our meal (over $100 for 2 people), I don’t feel I should be responsible for directing every aspect of our experience. It was not a particularly relaxing time. We certainly hope that this was simply a very ‘off’ night for Vogue, and not a sign of negative changes for the future.
Service and ambiance were very good as were the bisque and onion soup. We both had the Vogue Steak and it wasn't as good as it has been in the past. We have not been there in a while and I believe the cut of meat for their "Vogue" steak changed, and they no longer have the great shoestring fries. My husband had fat throughout his steak. If we go back, we will have a pasta or seafood. Nothing terrible and nothing fabulous.
Note when reserving you can reserve at bar or dining area, if I had known how nice the bar was, would have booked that and will next visit. The service and the food was outstanding, my dirty martini was good no complaints, I’m picky having tended bar long ago. Seems like they have a lot of regulars, noise level is not bad for a small venue and they maximize the use of space but comfortably so. Look forward returning.
Vogue Bistro is one of my favorite date night spots. Its a small local gem. The food is amazing and the service is always top notch and the peach martini is a must! I have had many of the items off their menu and still every time I go it's hard to choose what to eat.
Duck dish had good ingredients but lacked coherence...perhaps a flavorful sauce to bring it together? The yellow fin tuna fish was excellent but again it lacked additional ingredients to create pizzaz. So in summary you are investing in quality substances but missing on the other pieces that bring a plate together and make it appetizing. For a French orientated restaurant how can you miss out on the importance of sauces and the other low cost pieces that bring a plate together.
We went to the Vogue Bistro for New Years Eve - and had a great experience. The food was amazing - great limited menu for a good price with a nice variety of choices. Our server was very polite, attentive, and nice. It was a bit loud as we were seated on the patio and the party next to us was really loud (not really the fault of the bistro!!!). It was a wonderful dinner and a great way to ring in the New Year, I highly recommend them!
Lovely dinner as usual -- one of my favorite spots. My only disappointment was that I had indicated it was our anniversary (ahead of time) and expected at least acknowledgement, not a freebie. Not looking at their Open Table comments apparently! But the meal was quite nice -- have always had consistently good food here.
The money spent for tasteless yellow fin was very disappointing. Our server never came back so that I could request something to add some flavor. I ended up leaving half of it on my plate. It came with a tiny plain salad on the side that even the server warned me about. After we ordered our server told us we should order an appetizer because it would take a long time to get our entrees and they weren’t even busy that night. We had to request our salads which were unimpressive. Once our order was placed our server never came back to our table except as he literally ran by as we were finishing up to ask if our meals were good and then came back to sell us dessert. He never asked if we wanted a second glass of wine. We were very disappointed.
Vogue exceeded our expectations. Not only was the food delicious, the waiter was attentive and charismatic. He helped us with our drink selections, which were incredible, and made several suggestions as to what appetizers we should try. I would definitely dine here again. Great food, great service, and a great atmosphere!
Went for a random date night with my husband. The atmosphere was perfect and just breath taking. Candlelit tables, white lights outside just so pretty and romantic. The food was perfect. Waitress was so sweet and we never had an empty water cup. Not even half way! Loved it.
Not recommended. Tables are way too close together—like what you’d find in a BIG city downtown. It’s also has a high noise level. So conversation was difficult.
Food was mostly OK. But the creme broule dessert was cool rather than very warm like it’s normally served.
The onion soup was really great but my entree was meatloaf and augratin potatoes. Neither had much flavor. I've had this dish many times here and it has always been my favorite. I don't know what happened but my fellow dinners had the same dish and it was not very good. My past experience has always been good here so I'll try something new next time.
We dine at Vogue a couple of times a month and have never had a bad meal. Service is always exceptional and food is delicious. I have to say the Vogue Burger is my favorite meal and have never had a better burger anywhere. My wife loves sea bass and I also am just a little fond of the scallops (LOL)!!!
First visit...a little hard to find. Outside seating was unexpected, but fine. Nice heaters, but not too hot. Waiter (Jason) was pleasant and well informed about selections. Will probably return to try some other menu items. The creme brulee was good, but didn't think it lived up to the menu description.
An excellent dining experience. Though the noise level was a bit higher then I liked, it was acceptable. Dining outside, when the weather cooperates is a great way to go. Kudo's to the wait staff, as the service was awesome. One of the better meals we have had in a long time. This is a quaint bistro that we will certainly visit again
I like Vogue Bistro and my husband and I have been there several times for special occasions.
We invited some friend to celebrate their birthdays and they knew the restaurant och menu very well. We ordered duck for main course and was disappointed when they only offered breasts--not legs as it was described in the menu. The dish tasted good but not the flavor I had experienced the previous month. But the main reason I did not enjoy the evening was the SERVICE, which felt very RUSHED. This was a Tuesday evening. The previous visit was a Friday evening and I felt a little disappointed in the service at that time too, but I thought it was due to a busy Friday evening. I felt that the waiter did not have time to listen or took the time to answer questions about the menu and the wine list.
