    Perhaps the best dining experience of our 31 years of marriage. Not enough superlatives. We both had the chef’s tasting menu paired with the wines. Our server was an expert in all things about food: Kendra, like the best restaurant server ever. Management, the chef and sous, probably among the finest in the nation. Le Diplomat in DC not as impressive as this lovely spot for intimate dining. Bursts of flavors on our palates left us amazed, surprised, tantalized. It truly was a treat that surpassed anything we’d experienced. I want to eat there again already and it’s worth flying to Omaha from anywhere to dine at V.Mertz.

    This restaurant, in the opinion of my wife and me, is one of the best in the United States. The food is incredible and the menu is quite creative. The atmosphere is intimate and romantic and the service is terrific. There is also a top notch wine list.

    Went for my anniversary dinner and they did an excellent job all around server provided drink ideas and selections with each course. Best meal I have had in Omaha so far… highlights were the wagyu ribeye, edamame hummus I was not expecting that. My only wish was the duck breast had not been removed from the menu before we went I was looking forward to it. However I understand menus change and I enjoyed it all. Many thanks from two Las Vegas chefs…

    Beautiful setting with excellent service. Menu is limited, especially if you aren’t a red meat eater. Great wine selection with some moderately priced selections.

    Honestly hands down one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to. This wonderful restaurant is tucked away in the Old Market downtown Omaha. If you are in Omaha and want a wonderful experience don’t miss V.Mertz.

    v. Mertz continue as one of the most outstanding - and expensive restaurants in Omaha. Food and service is great. The ambience is simple and good for a romantic dinner though a view would be better. The menu is very abbreviated but the steak is always fantastic - the peppercorn sauce is legendary!

    I went here for my graduation dinner from college and it was fantasic. We had an amazing waiter who was attentive without being distracting and the food was phenomenal.

    We visited V. Mertz for our anniversary and, as always, they made is feel very special. Our menus even had "Happy Anniversary" at the top. Our server, Charles, was great in helping us choose a small plate as well as our entrees. He also suggested a great Italian red wine that went well with both our entrees.

    If you like cheap food at expensive prices, DO NOT GO TO V. Mertz. Their food is always perfect. We have never had a bad meal, or even a bad part of a meal, at V. Mertz. I'm not sure how many times we have gone there, but I do know that at no time did I ever feel I did not get great food for the price. On this trip we decided to show our grandson and his girlfriend what good food is all about. Our grandson just celebrated his 17th birthday last week, and my wife and I started a tradition of taking our adult children to a really nice restaurant to celebrate their birthday. This was the first time to extend the tradition to our grandchildren. He loved it when he noticed the menu had "Happy Birthday Darrian" on the top. Nice touch. We started the night with some appetizers, and as always, my wife and I had the Foie Gras. Our first time having Foie Gras was at V. Mertz and we fell in love with it. We have tried it at other places, but it is never as good as V. Mertz. For dinner we all had the NY Strip with pepper buttercream sauce. The sauce was too good to describe, it could have been served as a soup. It was perfect fit to the steak. If the dessert menu has Crème Brulee my wife will always get it. That is by far her favorite dessert. My grandson choose the kiwi tartlet. V. Mertz knew it was his birthday (as seen earlier by the note on the menu) and they brought it to him with a candle on it. It was a great way to end a fantastic meal.

    We all had amazing food, well crafted cocktails and wine that is very difficult to find. Our server, Charlie, is a true professional. We let him pair the wine with the food. This was a perfect pairing. Matt, the manger, made sure that every detail was perfect. The dishes were innovative and unique - real masterpieces. The food portioning was perfect. A lovely evening in what we believe is one of the best (if not THE best) restaurant in town. Thank you!
