   Overall good experience, appetizer, entree and dessert was pretty good. Little higher end of price but overall well worth it. Wish my gf was with me but she’s not here. Will definitely be back to try the Tomahawk steak. Old fashioned was a little skimpy, only downfall which was disappointing.

   This was our first time and found the food, the service, and the space to be exceptional. We tried the tasting menu with wine pairings, and everything was delicious and prepared with great care.

    We have never had a bad meal here. Everything is superb. Accommodations for allergies have always been made. Would highly recommend, especially for special occasions. Try the tasting menu with wine pairing, it's well worth it.

    As always, the service was great and the food was delicious. Kendra, our server, was very pleasant and attentive. We had the cheese plate, the tenderloin and the NY strip. Both cooked to perfection.

    I have enjoyed V. Mertz as one of my top 5 restaurants in the area, and have always given it 5 stars. This is the first time I have been disappointed. It took 50 minutes to get our meal...no explanation. I rarely saw the waitress, and finally got up to ask her why the meal was delayed. She gave no apology, no explanation, but simply said it would be there soon. I felt a little like I was bothering her. It just wasn't the kind of service I had previously received there. I hope this isn't a trend.

    I’ve been looking forward to coming here for almost two years! The ambiance of a quaint little spot in Old Market was truly alluring. Unfortunately, our experience did not live up to expectation, our server started off nice but ended up being inattentive, another server needed to grab our check at the end of dinner. Our main entrees were truly fantastic, be mindful it is a pricey little spot, $90 steak pricey. Dessert along with the service were the killers for me, worst crème brûlée I’ve ever had, too thick of a sugar coat you had to really dig in to get through. Spot is still quaint and the steaks are fantastic but when you’re paying over $200 for two of you I expect much better service and the massacre of crème brûlée is something that just hurt my soul…

    Went for my husband’s 35th birthday on Friday 12/23. It was freezing cold in the restaurant but it didn’t matter. Everything from start to finish, including our waitress and the bartender, was outstanding. This was our first visit and we can’t wait to return.

    Good food and service was great but the temperature in the restaurant was cold and very uncomfortable. So we sat and ate in our winter coats. And we hurried through our meal. It was subzero outside but if something can’t be done so that customers are comfortable then perhaps they should tell people that when they makes reservations. But it’s hard to believe that something can’t be done to keep the cold out. Too ‘upscale’ to be cold and rush through our meal.

    We love V. Mertz and have always had an amazing experience. Unfortunately our last visit was disappointing. The food was presented beautifully and it was very good. Our server was not attentive and we had to "flag" her down on a few occasions to get her attention. This in not the service we have historically had at V. Mertz nor what we would ever expect.

    Coffee is always good and especially in their vintage china cups. Had a Black Russian with house crafted liqueur and Vodka, excellent. Love the crisp topping of the crème brûlée. We even got to visit with some former neighbors who were also enjoying a Christmas lunch.

    V Mertz is always a great meal and this visit did not disappoint. We agreed the celery soup was fabulous and the garlic mashed potatoes were fabulous. We always ask for David to be our waiter. He is the best in town. Thanks for the wonderful Christmas lunch.

    We enjoy every experience at V Mertz. The bread was fantastic, as were our various plates, especially the wagyu and the scallops. I was apprehensive about fois gras ice cream, but it was amazing! The ambiance can’t be beat, excellent date night or special occasion spot. At Christmas the lights in Old Market are magical.

    We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at V. Mertz and feel it lived up to its stellar reputation. Our server was attentive and prompt, food was mouth-watering, and the ambiance was delightful (in spite of the table full of drunk people next to us). Our server offered us a different table due to the very energetic people seated next to us, which was quite thoughtful. We were out for a quiet romantic evening and he picked up on that vibe. We will be back!

    The meal itself was disappointing, the poultry was warm, barely certainly have been sitting for sometime before it was delivered to the table. The lamb was extremely undercooked, ordered, medium rare, and it was definitely barely even rare.

    Easily the best restaurant in Omaha. They will accommodate vegan diners which is why we go! Love a place that rotates menu based on what's in season.
