   First time going here and I was amazed. The food was amazing, so many flavors. The waitress was awesome! She explained everything in detail. They were personable and had no bad experience there. 10/10 would recommend and go again!

   Food & server were amazing! However, we probably had the worst table location, so it want great when a large party came in and hovered near the bar. In any event, we will be back, just hopefully at a better table 😂🤣

The service is top notch The food is exquisite This restaurant has exactly what your looking for for fine dining an a romantic night out..I will keep going back again an again..its my wife an I favorite spot in old Market.. Try it for your self you won't be disappointed.. Always get the tasting menu 😋

   My partner and I went to C.Mertz yesterday evening for the first time. We were immediately greeted by Matthew, the general manager, and given a seat. The lighting and decorations were beautiful. You could hear the trickling of the water fountain in the Old Market Atrium—certainly a romantic spot. We both ordered the tasting dinner and were surprised at how much we received for the price. Every course was delicious and it was so relaxing and fun to have everything prepared and explained to us. Very enjoyable experience. Our service was fantastic, she was on top of everything and was kind, courteous and knowledgeable. 10/10 experience and we will definitely make V Mertz a frequent date night stop!

   As always the food and presentation are great. A little slow on the service so leave enough time, but our waitress was very good. We were back 32 years later to celebrate a birthday. You can't say that about a lot of restaurants who can maintain the quality like V. Mertz.

   We had been a few times before and decided to go again to celebrate our 25th anniversary. When making the reservation it asked if we were celebrating anything, so our 25th anniversary was noted. We arrived with our table all ready for us. Upon sitting down and looking at the menu we found that they had specially noted "Happy 25th Anniversary" on the top of our menus. This made the night even more special than we were expecting to know that they truly paid attention to us and our reason for the visit.

    The staff did an amazing job. I requested some special flowers for my wife for our anniversary. They took the time to locate the flowers and have them waiting at our table. I highly recommend this place if you need a romantic night out.

    Our waitress, Georgiana, I believe, was fantastic! The food was prepared and presented perfectly. The restaurant is upscale but very comfortable and relaxed - a perfect combination.we will definitely return.

    I took my friend visiting from Portland here because it is my favorite Omaha restaurant and she has sophisticated taste. She said it was one of the best meals she’s ever had. Everything was top notch and amazing including the service from Johanna. Thank you V. Mertz for a perfect evening.

    The servers were very efficient, knowledgeable and personable. The short rib course was to die for. The wine pairings were wonderful. The only unfortunate part of our visit was it was our 39th wedding anniversary which we hoped would be intimate and special. Unfortunately we were sandwiched between a boisterous party of eight and a large table of sixteen people. The noise level was very high and it was difficult to carry on conversation and hear the server's description of the various courses and wine pairings. There were more remote, intimate parts of the restaurant we could have and should have been seated in to fully enjoy our visit to V.Mertz who had been informed of our special occasion reservation weeks in advance.

    We went for the Mardi Gras tasting menu and where not disappointed. The food and wine pairings complemented each other well. Would recommend if you are looking for a more unique experience. They also have regular menu items and I will be sure to return to try them.

    Celebrated our anniversary on 2-16-2023. We had not visited VMertz for several years. I forgot how romantic it is. Most restaurants, even the high end venues make it difficult to have a conversation with your dinner date. Not at VMertz. You can enjoy the ambiance, food, wine and conversation without having to shout over music. Our server, Charles was attentive, polite and helpful ensuring we enjoyed our celebration. The scallops and pasta dishes were excellent and the desserts were wonderful. This was fine dinning at its best. We will be back soon. BTW The personalized menus recognizing our anniversary was a great touch and surprise.

    Wow. Have known about this place for years but have never come in to experience their offerings. My mother-in-law is in hospice so I took my father-in-law out for a little fun, fuel & food. After a tasty snifter of Peet Reek down the street at Berry and Rye we arrived with the bar set high. Met at the door by a pleasant host, who sat us immediately followed promptly by a lovely server, who's name sadly escapes me, with broad smile, thorough knowledge of the menu, and offer to take our drink order. We requested and Old Fashion and a Manhatten then began to peruse the succinct menu. We chose the pork fat toasted coconut rolls with herb butter and artisan cheese plate of the 7 small plates available then added wagyu cuts of the 8oz NY Strip and 14oz Ribeye from Morgan Ranch as our mains. (6 large plates of lamb, chicken, pasta, scallops, cauliflower and halibut looked delicious but couldn't top our want of beef this night). Drinks arrived and were delicious, rolls were phenomenal, butter was even better and the cheese plate shined with every bite. Our entrees soon followed and we were not disappointed. Normally, we hit Mahogany Prime for their bone-in ribeye to satisfy my steak needs when in Omaha. Additionally, I dislike wagyu as it often feels a bit mealy. But tonight I was happy we chose V Mertz and that they only offered wagyu cuts because their beef purveyor, preparation and seasoning made for certainly the best wagyu I've ever had, and one of the top ten steaks I've ever eaten. Hats off to both the front and back of that house for bringing out a great meal and great time on a random Saturday in February. Wow.

    [PLEASE] If you go here, I BEG YOU to order the short rib dish. ALSO, I have been all over the world; let me tell you, the walleye dish was among the most delicious things I have ever had. Cook and flavor were perfect, and I have no idea how they made the sweet potato side so tasty (I generally don't even care for sweet potato). Incredible dinner, couldn't recommend more, and the prices were a really great value.

    We were greeted promptly as soon as we walked in. Our dinner was amazing, the Walleye was absolutely delicious, the Scallops were cooked to perfection. Our waiter Derek was very attentive, pleasant and very informative on the wine selection and menu choices. The bartender nailed it with the Whiskey Old Fashioned Sweet. #1 Old Fashioned in Omaha! The Crème Brûlée and Rice Pudding were an excellent choice for dessert. A very memorable dining experience. Thank you V Mertz!

    Overall good experience, appetizer, entree and dessert was pretty good. Little higher end of price but overall well worth it. Wish my gf was with me but she’s not here. Will definitely be back to try the Tomahawk steak. Old fashioned was a little skimpy, only downfall which was disappointing.

    We have never had a bad meal here. Everything is superb. Accommodations for allergies have always been made. Would highly recommend, especially for special occasions. Try the tasting menu with wine pairing, it's well worth it.
