Salads were amazing and pastas are all wonderful especially the Rigatoni
First time dining there. Cozy and intimate with great personal service. Nice wines. Gluten free penne. Definitely worth a revisit.
The welcome was warm, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was convivial.
Amazing service, great variety of authentic Italian dishes!
Great food, friendly, caring and solicitous staff. Owner, Angelo makes the dining experience exceptional.
Was disappointed as we selected this restaurant for restaurant week, however the waiter said they weren’t participating until tomorrow. Wish they were more transparent with this on their website and open table.
Vivolo has been around for decades and has shown its staying power while so many other restaurants of its ilk in the neighborhood have come and gone. The menu is appealing, the food is dependably good, the prices are appropriate, and the service is excellent. Even though the restaurant is small (two floors of a town house) and the tables quite close together, the noise level remains sufficiently low to permit easy conversation, so it is the perfect spot for a pleasant evening with a friend (or friends), a colleague or a spouse. It is a neighborhood favorite.
Good food excellent flavor.
Nice fireplace upstairs
Lovely small restaurant, delicious food, good service, low noise level, fireplace, 1st flr restrooms.
Lunch for 6 ladies and we were well treated and not rushed
First time at Vivolo, which I chose due to its proximity to our hotel (the Carlyle). I loved the cozy dark paneled dining room, cozy feeling, excellent service and food. Would definitely go back! Good baked clams and tender veal scallopine.
do not bother
As always excellent food delivered with exceptional service. A real neighborhood gem
Setting is comfortable and perhaps romantic. New Year’s Eve, after all.
The salads were first rate as was the dessert but everything in between, the main courses were unmemorable. My wife’s chicken was somewhat dry. My veal was terrible. Three small medallions, one that was the consistency of a rubber band with roasted potatoes that were, perhaps, warm, certainly not not hot, as they should have been.
What more can I say.
Great meal and experience. First time visit. Treated as if we were old friends.
Friends get together, good food, convent location.
Wonderful spot my wife, son and I have enjoyed for 25 years. Little changed from the beginning this place is a classic white cloth Italian where the staff knows most of the guests.
The food was MUCH better than the service which was amateurish. They asked who had what when the food came to the table, did not bring bread when requested, had to ask twice for stuff. Ashamed because the food was very good.
This place felt like a tradition on the first visit. Warmly greeted into the wood-paneled room of an old townhouse, the staff was welcoming and accommodating. The menu was diverse and affordable, ditto the wine list. The food was delivered in perfect time and was delicious. Lots of good reviews brought me here with out of town guests who I wanted to impress. I assumed the bad reviews were written by sour people difficult to please - I was right. It was a lovely evening and I'd recommend it in a NY minute.
Very nice neighborhood restaurant. They have a prix fixe menu before 6:30pm but you have to ask for it...they don't offer it. The tables are close and unfortunately we had a loud party next to us in the holiday spirit. But nothing that was the restaurant's fault. Good Italian food with creative dishes. Would definitely return.
