Vivo Kitchen Ratings and Reviews
We stopped here unexpectedly on the way home from the airport. Staff was very friendly and competent. We had two starters and split an entree and a dessert. All were carefully prepared and delicious. You could taste all of the ingredients - the flavor bursting in each bite. Very satisfying. Would love to go back and eat outdoors.
The food was excellent. Both the hostess and the waitress were not. It seemed we were a bother and the table opening up was more important than our experience. And, by the way, there was no one waiting for a table when we left. Too bad. Poor training of the staff.
We had the most wonderful dining experience. We dined on several Starters, and then the Main course was fabulous. Porterhouse Steak and the Crispy Whole Chicken. A great restaurant in the heart of Sewickley. The desserts were a perfect ending. Vivo will always be my first choice in the town. We had a lot of food for the price. Will go back as soon as we can and probably will have the Salted Carmel cheesecake again. It also would be a great place to meet up with friends and have a glass of good wine and a couple small plates.... Thank You VIVO .OUTSTANDING !
Our drinks were very good. I had the heirloom tomatoe/pear/feta salad. Excellent; could have eaten two. My steak was done more than I wanted but did not send back. Everyone else at our table enjoyed their dinners. I will not get the ribeye next time. May choose the grilled chicken, which I had once before.
Horrible food...ordered a medium rare steak. So tough I could not cut through it or chew it. The meat was NOT medium rare but raw, so it was NOT overcooked. When the manager asked what was wrong I told her and her answer to me was "Well, that's the cut of the steak"...I suggested that if this particular cut is this hard to eat maybe that should be put into the description. She asked if I wanted something else...well, considering the meal was half over, no. She must have ordered the waitress to come over (who was a doll, by the way) because the waitress was very concerned but said the exact same thing. The manager was very rude, as though it was my fault for ordering this tough piece of meat. When I left I said good night to her and she glared at me. I will NEVER step foot in that nasty place again and would suggest anyone visiting there ask how tough the meat is before ordering.
I really enjoy going to Vivo! It is one of my and my husband's favorite places to go. The food is excellent and always fresh with interesting ingredients for different taste. The menu is short too, which I like so you do not have pages of selections. The service is always impeccable and the owners are very kind people. The dinner selections are never huge portions. They are just right and leave you satisfied. Desserts are homemade and scrumptious. Vivo' atmosphere is eclectic. Relaxed. I always highly recommend this restaurant!
Vivo is consistently outstanding in every way. Sam and Lori know what keeping customers happy means. Their menu is creative and uses the best local ingredients. Sam is always offering new things and also keeps the old favorites. The floor staff and bartenders are professionals in every way and know what good service is. We are very lucky to have them in Sewickley/
We've always enjoyed the escargot here -really good. A great wine list and other appetizers like the pork meatballs are excellent. This time we were somewhat disappointed when we ordered the lobster rolls (DON'T). The porterhouse steak was good but not tender.
This was everyday dining but when you spend $175 for dinner - is it really everyday? The food is good. The service was not so much. We sat for a long, long time before anyone came over to even give us water. However I saw the owner's wife seat others who she fussed over and who had servers at their table long before we did. Specifically she walked by us repeatedly where we clearly did not have water, our menus were on the table, and we had no drinks; but she ignored us. She opened a bottle of wine for someone she obviously knew - and they had brought their own wine. We wanted to buy wine ... but no one paid any attention to us. It was as if because we weren't regulars, no one cared if we ate there or not; or if we came back. I noticed this treatment of a few other tables - some got the attention, others - who cares! Our server told us she really didn't work there anymore but was called in to help out. I know from before (we've eaten here many times) but I want a server who works there and is invested in serving us. I have been eating at Vivo as long as they have existed - in Bellevue and now - not often but we have gone back many times. I don't think they care about that.
Excellent in every way. Service was outstanding, and the food was creative, fresh, and obviously cooked with a passion for the art!
Everyone we encountered were super friendly and eager to please. This Restaurant is a wonderful place to dine. Wish I could give it 6 stars!!
We had a very relaxing, beautiful meal and excellent drinks at Vivo. The desserts were delicious! One negative: they need to get some blinds for the front window for evening dining, because there is a giant street lamp glaring into the front dining room after dark. It kind of ruined the low-lighting ambiance. ☹️
